Hello there! I really enjoy your Africa playlist, it's amazing and it is very interesting for me watching these videos about Mozambique, once I'm Brazilian, so I speak portuguese as a native language too, and seeing the billboards, malls, advertising and all of the other things in Portuguese it's so nice, it feels like home! Keep up the good work!
Yeah those are called "Blue Bottles" Got stung by them more times than I can mention. A curse along that entire coast from South Africa to Kenia. Yes vinegar is the best remedy, if not available but you have some mustard for your hot dogs you're doing on the grill, use the mustard. It also works. Love your videos, you're extremely brave and adventurous, so keep posting these fabulous videos.
Hey! I liked your videos about Mozambique. It seems that you had lots of fun. I'm in Chicago, Illinois, US but I'm Mozambican. What happens is that most times people who travel to African countries only show the bad, sad & dark side of the cities. God bless you and your beautiful family
This is a small sample for what mozambique offer, should go to inhambane province, Gorongosa National Park, national reserve of niassa, Mozambique island etc , my country is amazing just try you will not regret .
I am so amazed by your travel guys, from SA I am learning so much about Africa as a whole. I wish to get see it in person one day, u live life to the fullest I love ur fearlessness, u see people not race u the best I am literally in tears don't know why.😘😘😘😘
That is so sweet. Thanks for encouraging us! It means so much to us. We're definitely living an amazing experience and we've been able to discover so many amazing places!
What a nice couple , John and Barbara are. In the bathroom the trash can was very pretty also. Loved the sink and those stones. Anxious to go on to the next place.
So much development at Ponta d'Ouro . There was very little there, when I did my diving certification there in around 1999. So nice to see Moz again. I was born in Beira :-)
I really am enjoying all your videos. After watching quite a number on Mozambique done by various tourists I like yours the best. I went to Malawi for a month a while ago and I saw only one old local man with grey hair. I also saw no local overweight people at all.
Was awesome to meet the elderly couple , i think your'll needed that ,a divine appointment . The borders not a good experience and also costly. Paul Joe PS I am from South Africa Durban
Ah that's fantastic. We really enjoyed our time in your country. Meeting what we called our "adoptive" grandparents was such an amazing experience for us. I can't wait to see them again.
Nice video, beautfull family. Mozambique is maning nice! The sand roads are the vibe of Ponta de Ouro, the lodge owners do not want proper roads to be build.
Hi guys I hope you guys are good... I love this video that you made about my country Mozambique you showed me something stuff that I didn't know about my country I know that's weird 😅😅😅.... You don't speak any word in Portuguese 😅😅
That elderly couple is so sweet! Did you guys keep in contact with them? It looks like your little girl was crying when the elderly couple left you at the border. :( They must have been really nice people.
Ginger Love They have actually become the girls adopted grandparents. We spent time with them last summer. Video will be coming out soon about our time together. 😉
Eu gostei bastante de viagem de vocês Maputo é uma cidade linda espero que vocês conheça outros lugares de Moçambique um dia Moçambique é o país lindo eu tenho vontade de conhecer canada um dia vou conhecer
As mentioned before by another commentor. Those are locally known as blue bottles, and the puffy part is actually harmless compared to the tail part. That is what stings and the tail gets VERY LONG. If there are lots of them, then you're bound to see some sea snails feeding on them as they get washed out onto the beach.
I love your Africa journey. Are you trying new fruits at these countries? I like the batik clothing and the jewelry. I would be so tempted to buy things, which are so cheap. But you have small luggages. What a great opportunity for the girls to learn about poverty and how it impacts people's daily life. That was a beautiful beach and lodge. Looking forward to tomorrow's chapter. Watching from Maryland, US.
Thanks for your comment Anna! Although it's tempting to buy stuff as we go, we tend to keep it until the very end so we don't have to lug around heavy luggage. Even though we travel light, it still feels like we have too much after a while. The girls, and all of us actually, have a different viewpoint now that we've seen different countries in Africa... that's for sure.
Hello my beautiful family, now if ever i was stranded on an island, it would only have to be with Marina, and see you in a few weeks now, Jerome from Switzerland
Why did the girls need a long form birth certificate? Is a passport not enough? Our family is planning a trip to Africa and came across this series. Loving it!
Yes you absolutely need to have this. Even when we presented the long form birth certs, they studied them for about 10 mins (felt like forever) I guess there are a lot of trafficking problems so they want to make 100% sure they're your kids.
I got stung by 11 at once when I was a kid! It was in Ocean City, MD...I remember my mom putting toothpaste on them 😁 it was painful at the time..but was all over in a day or 2...but I wouldn't go in the ocean for the rest of the trip ;)
Oh dear...that sounds painful. We quickly went to the restaurant and they had vinegar ready which really helped the sting. I've never heard of toothpaste though.
The jellyfish that stung Chloe is called a Portuguese Man of War. Its a serious thing. You may want to take benadryl and a spray bottle of vinegar and water the next time you go to the beach in that country. Some jellyfish are not that serious. So the one that bit your oldest daughter was probably not too bad. But Portuguese Man of War can put someone in the hospital. Another bad one to look out for is the Box Jellyfish. If you head out towards the Pacific Islands or Australia then you have to time your beach visit to make sure that you don't go to the beach when the jellyfish are out.
Haha. I stayed at Gamboozini. I had to walk there in the dark, following useless signs, uphill on the sand, dragging bags. It's at least two km from the center and the police had just taken all my money, so I couldn't get a taxi. And no-one there to greet me. Was a shitty arrival.
Oh man, that doesn't sound very good. We had a challenge to find it but we were in a big vehicle. The roads are like you've never seen before. Like driving up and down sand dunes. It's quite the adventure. Glad you made it there.
@@GrowingUpWithoutBorders Yeah, tell me about it. I was pissed and screaming "Gamboozini where the *** are you?" Particularly since not all the junctions have signs. You have to 50/50, and then come all the way back again... :)
very nice if you enjoy, that man should have been equipped with snow tires and chains, quite embarrassing for you Chantel to push his car out of a ditch, beautiful video for a beautiful family as i enjoy so much and can't wait to meet you all, as so much to talk about love you all
The reason why there are no old people currently in Mozambique is because most of the population that's supposed to be older now fled to South Africa during the war and those that survived probably also died from trauma or failure to adapt after the war.
This is the first white person video that shows the nice part of Africa to the world. Most Europeans think that Africa is a bush with lions and elephants. Thanks just keep showing more of our best to the world.
That’s funny. That’s sounds like people thinking that in Canada everyone lives in Igloos and that it’s only freezing cold. 😂😂 Half joking. You’re right though. Many people think Africa is one country and have no idea how diverse it is.
@@GrowingUpWithoutBorders I have been to Canada from the UK and I can tell you that in Newfoundland and labrador can get very hot in summer and those black flies bite like crazy

It wasn't a jelly fish which stung her, but a blue bottle. Pretty harmless in terms of poison, though the sting burns like hell for awhile.
I just heard about these yesterday but here in New Zealand.
are you planing to come back??
