Comparing Leonardo Pens! ✨ Momento Zero and NEW Momento Magico

- I am completely serious when I tell you that I paid no attention to the different design of the Momento Magico when I ordered it. I just saw that beautiful colorway and couldn't resist! Imagine my surprise when I found out it was a piston filler with an ink window and a different grip section from the Momento Zero. I hope you'll enjoy this comparison!
I have both a Momento Zero and a Momento Magico. My Magico is a Venus Dreams and I love it. I actually have it inked currently. Lovely video~!

I just ordered my first Leonardo this weekend. I was back and forth between these two and went with the MZ. I think I made the right choice! I went with a pretty neutral color with the Horn resin, but I love that Nuvola, too.
As much as I love ink capacity in piston fillers, I actually like the ease of maintenance with converters and changing inks more frequently.
Oh I hope you’re loving your new pen! The Magico wouldn’t have been a bad choice, but the MZ does feel nicer. And honestly I’m with you on preferring converters, but sometimes I can’t pass up a pretty pen with a different filling system!

the blind cap to get to the converter is to deal with uncooperative inks that refuse to come out I love my kaigelu 356 it also has that feture and if you have ever used a stubborn ink that refuses to come out this is a god send for those type of pens I prefer the piston myself no need for unscrewing and screwing the barrel on and off :)
I can't do this because I can't ever remember which way to turn the piston knob to prime the feed! I have to see it moving, lol. Also I get really nervous about the plastic-on-metal threading, which I learned from Doodlebud is something to look out for, since the metal threads can really damage the plastic ones over time!

It’s great that you talked about the magical feeling less exquisite and I feel the same way. I think making the magician an internal piston filler and it is a bit bulbous in the middle of the barrel, they probably had to use a different type of acrylic. The way the moment zero model is finished makes them so high quality and luxurious. I’m amazed because I was expecting esterbrooks to feel the same but they don’t. I will say the Magico feels plasticky to me, which is a shame. So I only have 2 of them lol.
Edit: not the damn autocorrect changing magico to every other word similar but not the word we’re trying to write!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way! This pink is still so pretty, and thankfully I got a great nib. But I likely won’t jump at the chance for more Magicos/magicals/magicians. 😂 It’s definitely not a bad pen, and I probably wouldn’t have thought anything about it if I hadn’t owned Momento Zeros and a Furore before this one. But there sure is a difference!
I got mine cause I thought it was a comperable match with my grail pen at the time the Pelikan m800 in Ocean Swirl and I could not afford that pen then and I fo sho can not afford it now that its not being made anymore the prices are astonomical and I got my momento magico in emerald which is a greenish version of what looks like that same resen for $199 out the door from goldspot such a good deal :) too bad they didnt make a purple one in that same resen I would jump at that in a heartbeat

It’s Patience the Tortoise from Esterbrook! You can purchase her twins from lots of pen retailers. She was a Christmas gift to me a couple of years ago!

Yes! It might be useful for priming your feed once in a while, but I learned from Doodlebud's channel that it's not good having plastic threads screwing onto metal threads over and over again, because over time the metal threads can damage the plastic ones, especially if they get cross-threaded. So I never open it - only for videos, lol!
