      As a victim and survivor of a very gruesome and terrible long-term kidnapping in my life which was from October in the year of 1969 only a few days after I was born until the middle of July in the year of 1991 I know clearly what kind of trauma and pain all victims and survivors of kidnapping cases went going through during their own time in captivity! My both kidnappers - a schizophrenic woman and her sex-addicted husband forced me to do all the work in the house and garden and they have sold me to their many many high ranked friends and police officers that they could "play" with me! I endured so many traumatic and terrible things during my own captivity and I still suffering from the tremendous aftermath of my own time in captivity in the violent hands of my kidnappers and this will be until I die! Sure they had let me go to the kindergarten and the school, but I didn't had the permission to have friends and they have let me starve so many times and beating me up so many times and if they wanted to visit their own relatives over the weekend they have locked me in a very tiny little soundproof room under the stairs to the cellar in complete darkness without anything like food or something to drink and only a bucket as a toilet and naked without a blanket and mattress to sleep for these many many times over the weekend! I only got free from this captivity because these kidnappers had died only a few months apart! So for this one here, I can clearly understand what Jamie and all the other victims of kidnapping cases went going through during their own time in captivity and I can see it in their eyes what they have endured in the violent hands of their own kidnappers! I hope that all these people will get all the necessary help to cope with this atrocious and heinous act of brutality and that these people can have a wonderful and peaceful life with good people in their next! Have all together a wonderful and peaceful day and enjoy your time and lovely greetings from Sarah Sutter!

      Doesn‘t matter how you behave, you will never please the public. The austrian girl Natascha Kampusch, who was kidnapped when she was 10 years old, freed herself 8,5 years later. In public, she was very outgoing and confident, which was odd for many people… „a victim should be shy and broken inside“. That was so horrible!!!

    • @therealdonnawagner
      @therealdonnawagner 2 месяца назад

      @villanessa Extro/introversion has to do with how one recharges their energy (extro being from interacting with others, intro from being by one's self), while being outgoing or shy has to do with how you interact with people you don't know or unexpected situations. So, while you're right that shyness and introversion are not the same (I, myself, am an outgoing introvert, for example), I'm not sure what introversion has to do with anything in this case. Arguably, an introvert would probably have an advantage in a solitary confinement situation because they can not only withstand long periods of time alone, but it gives them more energy to do necessary things. Regardless of her tendency towards extro or introversion, the fact that she was able to get away is awesome and I'm thankful, for her sake.

    I am actually glad that this episode only interviewed her family or people in her circle and that they hadn't pressured her into doing the interview herself, especially since she isn't ready to discuss all this. I hope people keep giving her grace and space to process all the horror that it must have been. I can't even imagine how difficult it must be, but I do imagine that having such a supportive and non-invasive community behind her helps a little.

      There are rarely stories of kids of color who have been lost. They never get the media attention because the media does not want to admit that they do not matter as much. I know 2 moms who never got any attention for their girls.

      Agreed! I hate when parents take their kids on the today show or talk shows after being traumatized. You can obviously tell it's way to soon for the child. Just like when police found Elizabeth Smart & Jaycee Duggar. The Paparazzi & The media stalked and harassed them. Demanding an interview! I'm thinking to myself wtf we should have laws against this! The media shouldn't be allowed to hound these people. But it's even worse when the parents force the victim to go in front of the public to speak. I'm so glad this family didn't push Jamie into being interviewed

    "Soon after Jayme Closs, 13, disappeared in Wisconsin in October, officials offered a $50,000 reward for information that would lead to her safe return. Now Jayme, who escaped from a kidnapper after she was abducted and her parents were killed, will receive at least half of it.
    That $25,000 was donated by Hormel Foods, the Minnesota-based company that owns Jennie-O Turkey Store, where Jayme’s parents had worked in Barron, Wis., for 27 years.
    “First and foremost, Jennie-O Turkey Store is a family,” Steve Lykken, a senior vice president of Hormel and the president of Jennie-O, said on Wednesday. “Here in Barron, our Jennie-O family is dealing with a very tragic situation.” The goal, he added, is to set up a trust fund for Jayme."

      Right, and I know they had no idea, but with the chaotic 911 call, I’d think they would have possibly checked on a car coming from that direction. They would have only needed to run the plate and it would have come back to a different vehicle. Naturally hindsight is 20/20 though. I can imagine the police beat themselves up over the things that they could’ve done.

    I am an only child.... I have fond memories of my time as a 12 and 13 year, in their own way they are probably some of the best years you can have in your life, a little bittersweet as that is the time of transforming from childhood to a teenager and the kind of adult you will be. Being an only child I think there is a unique bond between parents and their kid, it made me understand how all the more valuable my relationship with my parents was. My love for them ridiculously strong and to imagine that poor girl going through the worst kind of nightmare imaginable... The cruelty of it is incomprehensible to me. I would just want her to know that her parents would only wanted the best for her and would only want her surrounded by people who would settle for no less than the best for her as well. What can you say when you encounter the people in the world whose goal is to destroy the most unique and precious kinds of beauty?... That was always the scariest thing to me about the world, that those kinds of people existed and would stop at nothing to fulfill their purpose. No amount of time stops the thoughts and prayers other people who care and hope that time heals and allows you all the good things you deserve

    Jayme doesn’t look all that happy and uncomfortable. She probably needs time, peace and quiet and some time to gather herself and try and deal with the trauma she suffered and will always have to deal with. Her parents slaughtered, the violation of every right and control of herself. The police holding these press conferences parading her around as if they seal Team 6’d their way into that degenrate’s house and rescued her from a dungeon is awkward. She literally escaped on her own and walked up to a woman’s driveway. She rescued herself. Police didn’t even know who took her. I wish her all the best and I hope she gets all the help she needs away from the public eye.

    Watching this story about Jayme Closs was a story of Happiness and such Sadness with Jayme's Mom and Dad's murders. Her story is an amazing story of great strength and courage of a 13 year old girl who watched her Mother being Murdered right in front of her. May she receive all the love and support that she needs as she rebuilds her life. She seems to have an amazing loving family who are their to protect her and encourage her through this terrible tragedy of being kidnapped for 88 days and losing her Mom and Dad in such a senseless way.
    May Jim and Denise Closs Rest in Peace. They are Jayme's Heavenly Angels who will watch over their daughter as she navigates life without them. They raised a very special young woman. The story shows what loving Parents the Closs's were to their only child. They and their families should be very proud of her, she is amazing. I love how protective her Aunts were during the interview with Gail King. One stated that Kindness is what Jayme needs not being Nosy. The press can be such vultures. I think growing up in the small town will help her. They protect their own. I hope that the press and strangers will leave her alone and let her figure out her life's plan. I wonder if she will reach out to people like Elizabeth Smart and the other victims who survived their kidnappers. They are the only ones who know what she is going through at this time and in the future what obstacles that she may face.
    STAY STRONG JAYME YOU ARE AMAZING!
