Love the video, brother. We’ve been updating this thing like crazy since release. Definitely some more features to come. And we’re on the same page that if this completely replaces your editor.. you had a bad editor 😂. But this plugin is meant to heavily simplify the process for all the aspiring content creators who can’t afford a TikTok editor. Much love.
when i install the plug in, i cannot steam... literally the upload speed on OBS its 0 and stream dosent even turn on on my twitch channel. Literally the only difference its install and uninstall the plug-in
I've thought the same thing. It is not something to replace editing work, but to make it easier and less awkward. I have a Davinci Resolve preset that can be used to make vertical content fairly quickly, but this plugin makes that almost obsolete. Great tool!
@@harrisheller great plugin! my only gripe would be I didnt know there was updates out till I went to your discord, and got the news there. Hope there is an upcoming update that lets you know from OBS itself that a new plugin is available ♥ cheers bro.
Some people say that this tool isn't that amazing. Editing a full sized video will help you focus on the good moments. Which I agree. But clips from the stream still entertain. And this tool saves a lot of time.
Source mirror comes clutch in this case, that's what I did and it works perfectly, also allows you to individually add any filters to that specific mirror (source) without affecting the main source. Great content as always 🔥🙌🏾
to anyone who downloaded it before today, check your version. I noticed they fixed some of the bugs in v 1.0.5. my favorite feature is you can link vertical scenes with normal scenes, so if you change scenes, you can set it up to change the scene in vertical automatically. right mouse click the scene in vertical, and then press linked scene.
In regards to not having full functionality of OBS within the Vertical Plugin, you can choose to "Show vertical scenes in main scene list" and edit it in your normal OBS preview. It isn't perfect because it's still all in the horizontal editor, and some things you'll have to place off screen, but it let's you do what you want.
IMPORTANT!! Make sure that you go into settings, and set your "recordings" to use your VOD audio to keep from having your music being captured. Found this out the hard way.
Was playing around with some ideas of making a sort of virtual room using multiple of the same sources that needed to be transformed. This helped a lot. Didn't even think of grouping and copying a whole scene into vertical. Nice work.
I would recommend exploring source clone (or source mirror if you have streamFX) in order to achieve the blur background effect. That way you don't have to do that tedious studio mode thing.
The clip length was also the biggest problem as different moments have different lengths so maybe they could have multiple hotkeys for different lenght like 5 sec, 10 sec 30 sec and 60 sec as example.
That would be really cool! I set mine for 2 minutes so I can comfortably make a one minute video from it later on, but it definitely helps if you can have separate hotkeys for separate intervals. Not sure how feasible it is from a programming point of view.
@@goblin_factory from a programming pov, the buffer would just be the max you want and depending on hotkey it would chop it to the one you pick. the issue here is keeping the buffer after just in case you pressed the wrong hotkey, the elgato software from back in the day lowkey had this "feature" but wasnt really a feature just had to know how to do it.
Thanks for this video! i just set it up for myself with my stream deck pedal and multi action to create a vertical clip and also clip it on twitch ! Keep up the good work!!!
I can't see my vertical window in my obs, when you said: It's is compatible with OBS 29 and above, I checked for update and it solved my problem. Thank you!
I went a different route that allowed me to manipulate both previews without having to go through the studio mode, basically i created all the sources i would need within a regular scene and then just added them as needed as Vertical Sources.
Also you were saying you watch back your vods to create your own clips, i do the same but i use the function to place markers on the vods during my livestream using the streamdeck so that way i got a pretty good reference on everything that i want to clip without having to go through the whole vod.
This is awesome! I really like your social media loop that you added to the bottom of the screen… Is that available somewhere to download as a template? Is there also a way to have them both start recording when you hit the usual start recording button and OBS? Like if you just want to record the vertical version after you set it up like you did…
Great video! Thanks for the help. Instead of rewatching your stream for clips, why not add a stream marker button to your stream deck so you know where the crucial moments of your stream are?
I'm confused as to why you are not using the feature "Fit to screen" or "Stretch to screen"? This is much better than pulling the scene yourself (cropping) to fit the screen. Good video on the OBS plug in. o7
Great video! I'm so excited for this! I'm having trouble with it, but I should be able to figure it out. OBS is only allowing one version of Game Capture at once, even in different scenes. I could probably find a work-around and add a few different vertical scenes. We'll see. Fingers crossed!
I created a regular scene that just consisted of the Game Capture, and added that scene to my Vertical scene and normal stream scene. That seems to have done the trick.
Been trying to go live on IG and TWITCH at the same time but get keep getting errors on the IG side. Saying the stream key isn’t correct and or the url path for rtmp is invalid. Anyone successfully stream on ig yet?
After day 2 of using this plugin, my clips have become extremely choppy/laggy I guess would be the best way to describe it. Any ideas what could cause it?
Is it possible to have a different scene when streaming? so for e.g i want the camera to be bigger on twitch but on tiktok live i want the camera to be a small square?
Does anyone know how to get the audio from your capture card to play through to Tiktok Studio? I multstream and use a elgato capture card when usig OBS Virtual Camera I am unable to pull the sound.
Does streaming to both Twitch and Tik Tok put extra pressure on your internet connection? I want to try this, but I'm afraid my internet won't be able to handle it
What i'm wondering is the computer ressources needed to record that in addition of the rest? (in comparaison of source record or having a 2nd OBS open to record lets say your webcam only) Otherwise you can record vertically and horizontally too... which means for record you can use it to record webcam separetly, instead of using other technics (especially source record one which seems to create many issues recently) I'm more confident in Aitum to keep their stuff working than other random plugins (after all they gave this for free so people want to subscribe to their entire plugin, so if it bugs...)
Have you tried going live simultaneously on Twitch & Tiktok? Myself and friends are getting an error when we try. I have a TikTok stream key and I'm plugging it in and the server code. But it's giving me a hard time and i'm not sure what the issue is! Thank you in advance for your help if you're able ☺
I installed this and set it up, but unless I missed something, every time you do a vertical clip, it overwrites the previous one, so you still have to open the folder and copy or move the clip into another folder or you lose it to the next clip. It is an awesome plug in though, other than that.
i treid it lastnight. its nice but id like to crop where i want to focus on. like if i play pokemon and do a pokemon battle.. the UI and pokemon are usually on the sides and theres nothing in the center.
This was my only problem as well. But you might be able to think ahead and if you know you will want to clip something in the future (or are at a stage in a game where a specific part of the screen is important), you could set up move source filters to move your vertical element to the right position.
I was bummed about the paste reference, because I stream Fortnite on TikTok and have references for health, inventory items, players left, etc. But, I found that you can add the capture card source multiple times and just Alt+drag to crop them down, which essentially is the same thing as pasting a copy pasting a reference. Have you figured out how to add transitions yet? I have a stinger transition in my main scenes that doesn't show up on vertical and I'm trying to figure out how to add them.
Alright, but what about audio? I'm messing with this right now and it seems like the audio is terrible on it. Even if I apply filters and mute everything then add in my mic as a source.
i’ve been using the plugin and streaming flawlessly from obs to tiktok live studio for months; then all of the sudden, tiktok no longer recognizes my virtual camera as a vertical one. and my vertical cam in obs is still showing as perfectly fine. i’ve updated aitum, uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin and tiktok studio - nothing. haven’t seen anyone else have this issue, so finding the solution has been hell 😭😭
i tried downloading it but EVERY time i start up OBS its not there? i've uninstalled and reinstalled i can't find the solution! @gael what would you recommend i do?
Wait, people pay for editing clips for TikTok? I've been doing this myself and moving/zooming around - I had no idea I could get paid to do that for people haha
this will not download for me at all keeps telling me that obs isn't installed on the folder ive clicked every folder tried creating a new one and will not install idk what im doing wrong here lol
Anyone having this issue? The plugin works perfectly in OBS, but on my stream deck the hotkey isn't registering and I'm missing key moments bc my stream deck is unresponsive with this one action.
I don't see the option to save multiple clips using backtrack. Everytime I use the function, it just overwrites the previous clip, unlike the OBS recording options. Any ideas?
Did you check how your regular replay buffer is set up? Maybe you have to give a naming template that uses variables like a timestamp. Or if all else fails, you could write/have someone write you a script that automatically renames the created video, so your next one doesn't overwrite it.
I haven't tried tiktok streams yet but I would think you can have a separate popout chat window for that too (like Twitch), and if so, you could make a docked version from it using the source docker plugin and a browser source.
Make sure your bitrate in Vertical settings match your bitrate in your OBS output. Mine were different and I had the same issue. Once I made them the same, worked fine. Hope this helps!
