Removing jade weapons from being purchasable is such a dumb move. They should just be moved to legacy with the golden weapons. I know they said this was the plan from the start but I was hoping they’d have changed their minds.
I low key thought that there would be more urgency out of blizzard given Rivals breakout. I’m shocked that they aren’t trying to overhaul their content cycle
It is not like Blizzard to overreact to anything usually. Then again this is a different Blizzard than the past. The main draw for OW2 for me is stability, optimization and fun. I would rather they not introduce anything that breaks the game like they have in the past. Taking their time will yield the best results in the long run, even if people are switching to Rivals, in the end the better game should win out in the end. I personally will play Rivals as well but man is it an annoying to have such a prevalent third person perspective.
I don't think they need urgency unless MR thrives past mid 2025. You can tell who does and doesn't have a job in marketing based on how they think Blizz is going to respond to another game on the market. They’re a company comprised of tons of people, not a living entity. Any major decisions will take weeks-months to get approved. Also, Im already seeing tons of drama from MR, same as what we saw with OW in the early years (YEARS not weeks). Stuff like role lock, playing against bots against your will, unfun hero balance etc Im not praying on the downfall of MR cause i want more free skins and cinematics from Blizz. But i do think the toxic gamer bro army will eventually get tired of their new toy.
I really want them to implement a system like in LoL where if you play a certain amount of rank that season you get a special skin. League also gives out skins at the end of the year for people who reach the highest honor level (like a separate one from the ranked reward). I know they don’t want people playing ranked just for rewards but at this point in the games life i think most people who queue ranked do so because they like it.
I would like to see a competitive skin for each hero that would be a really big thing. Imagine a skin you could upgrade over time with competitive points
@lodestar27 That isn't how I understood it when they started jade weapons. And they're only the first new competitive recolor of OW2. Somebody lied. Not sure who.

@ go check out the announcement video dude- I swear they said it would change every year and that they were exclusive to that year. I’ve been operating on that information since January of last year. It’s all about that “get it while you can, we want you to play comp NOW so you can get weapons for all your favorites”
@lodestar27 I was led to believe you could only get the current weapon with only the new currency, and when the next weapon came out, the new currency would be added to your old currency, and jade weapons would then be lumped in with gold weapons for legacy credits. Which would keep people from missing out forever but force them to earn new currency if they want the next weapon. In a game where the only free weapon skins are gold and jade (which is more like just... green chrome), it makes no sense to me that they would run "Jade" for a season, retire it entirely, bring out a new color, but also never get rid of gold. Just because gold was always in OW1? I guess. 🤷 🤨
Personal opinion, I feel that there's too much stress on drives being the best way to earn comp points. I missed the first drives event after playing comp all season, and people that played 1/10 of how much I played got 3k points. earning 10 points per win regularly but then 500 points after 5 wins during drives is a little ridiculous to me, especially after they removed comp points based on rank at the end of the season. thoughts?
If blizzard makes a cool dark purple weapon scheme (which is my favourite color) I might even return to playing comp. It would go so well with my ana and mercy mythics.
@@rfewer I’ve actually been watching tons of the dev interviews recently and they’ve been teasing a big change recently. Emongg and KarQ have also said that it’s probably the next big thing to come. Streamers do get early access and when they say something might be coming I tend to look deeper.

man why do ppl care about q time?! the reason tank and support wasent played as mush in ow1 is becouse dps had more heros hense more veriety in gameplay and hero selection so now that there are more tanks and supports ppl played them more the reason ppl dident stick with playing tank is that 5v5 sucks for tanks then they made tanks broken ppl arent happy they nerfed tank then tanks started complaining! the blizzard team needs to own up to there mistake of 5v5 and ad the 6v6 mode back in not that king maker bs its just gonna be mass dps playes having to go up agenst goats varients and full teams of mercy mains like in ow1 open q! man why not just ad a ban system for high ranks where meta actualy matters and let lower ranks go 2 2 2 ?! olso sombra ana moira reaper queen etc etc are way better in 2 2 2 the game is not made to be 5v5 it should never of changed they choule of added more tanks and supports instead of adding dps after dps in ow1
This is such an incorrect take. Sure in a perfect world, you'd have people that equally want to play each role. Reality is, more people want to DPS than play Tank or Support. There are less professional athletes than doctors. Go ask 100 kids which they'd rather be, they'd pick the first. Even if there are less athletes.
Rivals is still on it's honeymoon. Sure, it'll keep some of overwatch's playerbase, but it'll get stale and players will start migrating back and forth.
@ I 100% agree with that but I just see from when Overwatch first launched and how Marvel rivals launched it definitely feels more thought through and adding synergy with characters.
@ I don’t know about you but a lot of the games I’ve been jumping in with Overwatch people have just been coming back for the free skins. I’m not saying Rivals is the overwatch killer it’s a great game but Marvels is in my opinion taking better care of its player base than Overwatch.

I REALLY hope they don't decide to take away placements in favor of being closer to rivals system.

Gavin Winters confirmed that you can still use legacy comp points to get Jade.

I feel like since marvel rivals already has a decent setup already with 6v6 Overwatch I think might’ve lost a lot of momentum with the community.
