I bought a Slysz Bowie because of you sir and my wife thought I was INSANE after paying $650 for it. Best decision ever because I absolutely love it and it brings me what for it .............JOY ! Mad respect from Portland,Oregon 🌹🏙
Awesome to watch the gear of the year review as always Nick! Owning a Tactile Turn bolt action pen and 2 of the 3 of these knives on your final contenders lineup, I completely agree, the Atom is phenomenal in all senses and the Evo Typhoon is spectacular as well. Thank you for a wonderful 2019 of gear reviews and recommendations!
Purchase links remove some impartiality too. Nick does his best to keep his own gain out of a review as much as possible, but by adding a link to any specific store, he's showing a preference for that store. Amazon affiliate links are the most agregious example of this, but linking to any site is something a reviewer should avoid
Last week I received my Atom and my Neutron from TRM and I couldn't be more happy with them. I just entered the waiting list for the TRM Nerd that's coming next year in April. Congratulations to Three Rivers Manufacturing
Could not agree more. The Atom and Neutron are two of my favorite carries. Full ti Atom? Oh yes please! Great things coming for 2020. Varied and interesting picks. 👍
Right....i work my ass off everyday to survive. And I do pretty good, but even so. I mean I cant bring myself to spend a 100 bucks for a knife. But watch a bunch of videos and save some money up. And get something that you like. That's what I do. Anyway good luck to yoi
So also what I meant to say was..that a 50 dollar knife is great. But when you can get a 100 plus knife. You will know what you paid for. And we'll worth the work it took to get there
@@JW-pj1zd For sure. Are the $20-$50 Kershaw's and CRKT's good? Absolutely, amazing budget knives. But over the years I've phased out my more budget stuff to upgrade. I have lots of Benchmade's and SpyderCo's (14 between the two brands), all ranging from $120-250. All phenomenal. I also actually just got my most expensive one yet today, a Microtech Ultratech. Man. It's hard to spend that much on one knife but holy shit you understand why you paid what you paid when you finally get it in your hands.
I find myself caught in the comment trap of only saying something when something negative comes to mind. Normally when there is nothing negative to say I refrain from commenting. So I just wanted to let you know this was a good video Nick. Merry Christmas.
Modern Alchemy I do the same. If I feel like there is something I want to lay out there too. It’s all a forum for us after he looks at some stuff. I never agree with all of it and then look at my comment and delete it because it sounds mean 🤷🏻♂️
That Three Rivers Atom had an incredible finish. I only have one knife over $100 but am seriously looking into the Atom. Just a beautiful knife in good steel. To me the fit and finish were the best I've seen on video.
I really appreciate you mentioned Larrin of KnifeSteelNerds - his articles are fantastic. I am also super happy that you gave voice to knives with thin blades - majority of knives on the market today can’t slice an apple, tough they could pry open a nuclear reactor ... if not for the fact that they are ... folders. I have reground GiantMouse Ace Iona to thin convex grind and it became my favorite budget knife after that (I know it has downsides) I am looking forward to your future reviews.
Just chiming in to say good choices I think. I've got an Atom in my pocket right now, and it's fantastic. I have two Tactile Turn bolt action pens, the full size in bronze lives on my desk and the shorter titanium model gets carried in my pocket on days I carry a pen. I've even alllllmost pulled the trigger on an Oceanus T200 a few times, and probably will at some point. While the higher end models are no doubt more advanced and probably 'nicer', I prefer the look of the simple T200 with it's super clean and uncluttered dial.
Your midrange is my high end. I prefer the Hogue over the TRM but only because it fits my big hands better. But my knife of this year is the Benchmade Super Freek.
Nick, you gotta do a review on the gshock mudmaster GWG 1000, or the gshock rangeman GPR B1000. Probably not your style but I think you may enjoy the functionality of either one of these.
I really want to get a TRM Atom. Really nice knife. The Hogue Ritter RSK is my favorite EDC following the Spyderco Para 3 in Maxamat and the Benchmade Bugout.
that's kind of weird question, completely different knives, like saying how would you compare the Toyota Tacoma truck to the Honda Accord EX sedan. Both great vehicles, but not direct competitors.
Wow. The Herman Knives Dragonfly scales are the coolest thing I've seen a knife wearing. Thanks for this review. Damn you for causing me to obsess over a knife I can't afford (and stay married).
Hey...once again...thanks for warning me against watches...the sun will ALWAYS be less expensive, except on cloudy days...lol. I did miss an appointment awhile back. It was a cloudy day...my phone was dead and I ended up spending an extra hour to see the Doc.
Love the Atom. Only thing with mine was it kept moving off center. Other than that it was great. Sold it to get something else but I’m going to get another one unless I can snag a Jcape v3 or v4
Someone please comment! I have a new Mel Pardue version Benchmade S30V Benchmade was a gift. I’ve had it a couple months using carefully on light stuff. At work other day I cut a single piece of 4” long 1/8-3/16” thick heat shrink rubber. It’s not hard plastic but a rubber. My S30V blade is completely dull now literally cannot even cut into a skin callous no joke. Is it defective?
I have the Atlas, Viator, a NERD on pre-order and finally got my Neutron a few weeks ago. TRM blades are outstanding and I hope I can get in on the Atom pre- order. My only gripe is they are so hard to get.
I'm disappointed that the Civivi fell out of your collection. I was hoping that would be a permanent addition for you, I know mine has become one of my absolute favorites very quickly. I'm guessing you received a Boos smoke mini, that knife is excellent as well, and could have easily made the list.
The problem with the TRM Neutron was that it stopped the knife bug for me. I was buying knives like crazy and then after getting one of those, it became the tool that I carried in my pocket every day. I stopped sitting around playing with my knives like I had been doing before and stopped watching as many of your videos except for the funny ones reviewing awful knives. I guess this is a good thing for me overall, but I did really enjoy watching all of your videos looking for which knife to buy next.
Same thing for me with the PM2. I sold most of my collection after getting it, and carry it like 90% of the time. Got back into knives recently 'cause a friend asked me to recommend something for him.
Hey (to who ever sees this)! What is the best budget minimalist watch?! I have a blue & light blast orange peel titanium busker that I'm trying to match. Looking to spend $350 maximum! Thank you for you time in advance!
Nick, if you like the Casio, I just got an Edifice solar chrono with blue accents and carbon fiber face for a very affordable $100 and I love it. I had ordered an Edox from T. O. M. because they had them on sale so I thought I was getting a $600 watch for $200 but it was only about $20 cheaper than the same model from Amazon so I got them to cancel the order even though they tried to make me take it. So for less than the $200 I would have spent I got the Casio Edifice EQS-800-CDB and a less expensive Casio Super Illuminator. The Edifice is not as expensive as the Oceanus but I think it's just as expensive looking.
Slicey blades please, I jumped on the Atom 12/19 release, excellent folder. Blade to handle ratio is stupid, so is 1 ounce to 1 inch, just thought I would throw that in. Hadn't seen the Drift yet, thanks.
You had some interesting picks here. Civivi Elementum should have been at least an honorable mention for your best budget. And flashlights, come on man, Olight knocked it out of the park this year with the S1R Baton II in the red +Copper, the I3T EOS in Desert Tan, and the i1R 2 EOS.
I own all three of your budget blades and love them all, but I can’t edc a front flipper, I use my knife a fair bit at work! I own 2 Atoms and a bunch of scales it is my winner as well! Recently got a sharp by design void and friggin love it ,and Without the giant flipper tab all the better😁
SOG has major issues with the pocket clip on the Terminus XR. It's leaving the factory configured differently on different samples, seemingly at random. I cover the issue on my channel.
Really surprised you sold the Aerospace. I felt like that was the most "Nick Shabazz" watch out there. But that Casio is certainly very compelling at $500
My dad had one and it wasnt worn for about 10 years after he died. I pulled it out of the closet and charged it in the sun for a couple days, keeps time perfectly.
when Nick finally discovers the atomic, sapphire crystal, Eco-Drives, he will say sayanora to the silly Casios! - but he's knife wizard, not a wristwatch wizard, and we need to appreciate that!
Really great to hear that because I ordered the micro typhoon in the Japanese Tanto and I was second guessing my decision. I also got CF instead of micarta which I regret.
The final solution... the moment you realized what you had said and switched it I shot cola out of my nose. Lol wonderful video and I think I'm going to have to take a look at one of those ad15s.
I just hope they make enough atoms for everyone because literally everyone will want one!.. And I Hope their quality control stays in check during their soon to come increase in sales.

This is the Super Bowl of Nick Shabazz videos. **grabs popcorn**
Knife Steel Nerds is still incredible in 2021.
Huge fan of his work and am a patron as well.
Thank you SO MUCH for shouting out Knifesteelnerds. That man has humbled and informed me in equal measure
Congrats to TRM for another great year! The Centros is an absolute delight to carry and use. Very happy for Dylan with the success of his design!

Thanks for your flashlight reviews. They have been helpful this year.
That atom came up and I said to my wife "that'll win," she didn't care. I was right though.
You have son many incredible knives ! Some beautiful and rare pieces that few people own, so please let us dream again with other masterpieces
Solid presentation and great choices!
If you could add purchase links or at least a graphic of the name of what you're talking about, that would be really cool
I agree.
A lot of them can't be purchased because of the limited run, but the name would be nice so I don't have to read off the knife.

Merry Christmas Nick, and a happy 2020!
Thanks Nick for showing your wares!
"It made it really hard Choosing this final solution-er--making this choice." I see what you did there Heinrich lol.
The final solution to the pocket knife question
I was just at TRM yesterday Marianne mentioned this video to me.
That pen is super cool. Thanks again Nick
Blade HQ has the second drop of Shabazz victorinox online now. Just picked up the Shabazz, Frankie and bird victorinox 😁

Man your videos both make me want to start a RUclips channel and not because I know I can't be as good as u nick! Thanks for making videos
I got the CJRB in carbon from Drop. VERY pleased and glad to see it here....

Did you made a review of the Sandrine tungsten knife? I'd be interested by the cutting performances.
Really glad I got on that micro Evo list...but anyway CONGRATS MARIANNE!!!
I have a neutron. Really wish the atom was left hand carry aswell
Nick, youre great! Would you please do a review of the benchmade nakamura and the hogue ex-5? Would be great, best regards
I am curious how much the Shabazz effect will have on secondary market prices of the Evo Typhoon.
Cheers to the New Years
I’m going to have to put that Ritter on my short list. The Atom is great; I’m going to order more scales for it.
Please put the urls up for the products you review. You talk too fast to write it down while listening!

sorry, i could not understand the names of the last two knives. thanks.
