  • Kate performs "Running Up That Hill" with David Gilmour in 1987.
    Lyrics:
    It doesn't hurt me
Do you want to feel how it feels?
Do you want to know; know that it doesn't hurt me?
Do you want to hear about the deal that I'm making?
    You
    It's you and me
    And if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get him to swap our places
    Be running up that road
    Be running up that hill
    Be running up that building
Say, if I only could, oh...
You don't want to hurt me
But see how deep the bullet lies
    Unaware I'm tearing you asunder
Oh there is thunder in our hearts
Is there so much hate for the ones we love?
Tell me we both matter, don't we?
    You
    It's you and me
It's you and me, won't be unhappy
    And if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get him to swap our places
    Be running up that road
    Be running up that hill
    Be running up that building
Say, if I only could, oh...
    You
    It's you and me
It's you and me, won't be unhappy
    Come on baby
    Come on darling
Let me steal this moment from you now
    Come on angel
    Come on, come on darling
    Let's exchange the experience, ooh...
    And if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get him to swap our places
    Be running up that road
    Be running up that hill
    With no problems
    Say if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get him to swap our places
    Be running up that road
    Be running up that hill
    With no problems
    Say if I only could
I'd make a deal with God
And I'd get him to swap our places
    Be running up that road
    Be running up that hill
    With no problems
    Say if I only could
    Be running up that hill
    With no problems
    If I only could
    Be running up that hill
    If I only could
    Be running up that hill

Brilliant. Great artists like Kate usually have a range of albums that you can go back and keep listening to, discovering new things each time. 'Hounds of Love' is an absolute masterpiece. Very mysterious and experimental in parts, yet very commercial too. It's now 37 years old and yet still sounds as fresh as ever.

Tony Franklin played bass for The Firm, and I was lucky enough to see and hear him play when they came round on tour to support their two “albums” and was also very fortunate to have school mates that loved playing The Firm’s music in our band’s live shows

    • @ramosel
      @ramosel Год назад +1

@@generalyellor8188 I entirely disagree with your assessment. In the 80s when this song came on the radio, I'd change the f'ing station. It was just whiny synth-pop. But this version with Tony Franklin and David Gilmour rocks! I'd have bought this version. I was never a Kate Bush fan, but this is exceptional. The video quality is better here (still not great) but the cleaned up audio on the HDPinkFloyd RUclips channel really showcases Tony's driving, growling bass and David's sizzling guitar tone. She seems to be enjoying it too.
