We women and our assumptions. Children rarely made it to adulthood before the medical marvels we have to....why do you think the world population boomed after many centuries? My we grew so much after birth control pills? With sickness, droughts, cancers and a multitude of other downfalls people dying young was nothing to raise an eyebrow at. Hell he had more interfile and non favored women in his harem than the other way around. Not to mention the women were sent their to strengthen ties for their clans.....they weren't their for love.
