Years ago I was in prison and used to listen to his 30 min segment on bott radio network from my cell 11 30 at night and I woul just soak it up and would always seem like it was only 5 minutes I was so invested. I finally started writing his ministry and after a couple months I received a handwritten letter from r.c which I still have to this day I'm 38 now was 26 then. Any he took the time to answer some things I was really struggling with and sent me a book a month for at least a year after that. Great man would love to have been able to spend a day with him

I won’t forget Paul Washer saying the Gospel is not for the unbeliever only but for the Christians. Christians need the gospel! I’ve been a Christian 17 years and this sermon is there to remind me the true definition of the Gospel. I think they say that b/c the Gospel is not just Jesus dying on the cross to forgive sins. Anyone can understand the story, but only believers appreciate it and identify with it. The father of a friend of mine who is a devout unwavering Christian once said that an unbeliever won't understand the Bible...there's nothing in it for them. There will never be another RC Sproul. He was in love with Jesus and it overflowed in all his teaching. I wrote to him twice to get clarification on Martin Luther and to tell him I was volunteering at a Christian crisis pregnancy center. He answered both with personal replies. I looked for the initials of an amanuensis but there wasn’t one. I’ll never forget him. He discipled me for 25 years although we never met. Soli Deo Gloria ✝️🙏

Guy Black , Jesus was claiming to be the "I Am", that God told Moses to call Him while Moses was on the mountain. He was also claiming that He existed BEFORE Abraham was born! That's why the people picked up stones to stone Jesus, because, as they said, "You, being a man, make yourself out to be God". Because in their minds, that's exactly what he was claiming! And if you keep reading the passage, Jesus DID NOT deny it!

We, (the people of this generation), have been blessed by our LORD YAHWEH to have heard 2 of the most effective, efficient, and elevating preachers who have been blessed to occupy the pulpits of our time, R.C. Sproul and John MacArthur. You want to feed off of God's holy word and have your fill to the brim of what God's word is all about? Plug yourself in to a message, a sermon, a teaching from one of the two, or both. It was Johnny Mac on the West coast and R.C. on the East coast. Children, you have been Blessed Indeed!
It's very telling that it takes a forty-five minute sermon to explain something that should take less than 2 minutes. This is a perfect illustration of exactly why Christians can't seem to agree on much of anything -- not even the definition of the gospel itself.
The gospel is the good news that God the Father, being rich and abounding in mercy, sent His only begotten Son to Earth to die on a cross and most importantly to bear our deserved punishment for our own sin, so that whosoever will believe on his name and repent of their sins will be saved by grace and the Holy Spirit through faith, and spend eternity with God in His kingdom.

Why ANYONE would trade the gospel of God's grace for ANY other false message, especially one borne out of the condemning LAW which NO man can keep perfectly IS astonishing. I can only imagine Paul's marvelling at such a concept once he actually understood God's truth and plan regarding these things.
Paused it @1:20 for what I would answer… The Gospel is God’s rescue of humanity …his love for us on display through Christ’s ransom. The means for us to be able to be redeemed & connected with our creator through that act of sacrifice. All for the vindication of His name.

They could be restated simply as, Ehrman's conclusions regarding the implications of the last sections of Mark are not consistent with the totality of Mark's gospel, both preceding and proceeding portions, and what we see is that totality is actually in perfect agreement with the other gospels.

Sproul is such a classic! For me, one of the biggest issues is our understanding of the Gospel. When I left being a paramedic to be in ministry, I didn’t realize how many people misunderstand how the Bible applies to our lives! That’s why I have centered my channel on helping people understand the Bible in a practical, relevant way that keeps the true Gospel at the heart of every teaching.

Gospelogian I am sorry but you have missed the gospel just like Sproul has. Who received the gospel for us Gentiles? Who was commissioned to deliver it? The apostle Paul and he was appointed by the very Lord who appeared to him in person after the Resurrection on the road to Damascus Acts 9. The Lord told him He would sent him to the Gentiles, us. That gospel is found in 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4
Phenomenal message ... Praise God for the work He has done through R C Sproul and the work He continues to do through him, even after he has gone to be with his maker. 🙏🏼💪🏼

Before He does this we are ALL dead in our trespasses and sins and do not seek after God . Christ was crucified, buried, and rose the third day, the sin of us all were laid upon Him. Repent and trust Christ. All who come to Him will not be turned away.
Truth! And never forget the Garden. For the suffering of taking on and bearing the wrath of God upon us for all eternity upon His Own Holy Self who never knew God's wrath, almost died. Mark 14:34 “And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.”

Guy Black , Jesus was claiming to be the "I Am", that God told Moses to call Him while Moses was on the mountain. He was also claiming that He existed BEFORE Abraham was born! That's why the people picked up stones to stone Jesus, because, as they said, "You, being a man, make yourself out to be God". Because in their minds, that's exactly what he was claiming! And if you keep reading the passage, Jesus DID NOT deny it!

You are all taking this so literally....... the Jesus story is an allegory .... a retelling of the eternal virgin birth, death and resurrection story that has been told since time began. Don't just read the Bible and say that it, that's the way it was. Do your home work.

Absolutely true! Not everyone who professes faith IN JESUS CHRIST is truly saved. But, people are easily swayed by flattering words and glowing revelations of their experiences. Simply, the GOSPEL is the TRUTH of GOD'S work to re-establish our live to GOD'S purpose: not for us but for HIM. GOD is Creator/Redeemer and is wanting to get us to see that HIS purpose is to get us into a position where HE can Forgive us that we might be useful in carrying out HIS reason for our existence!❤️❤️❤️

The gospel is the good news of what God has achieved through the life, death and resurrection of His son Jesus. He who knew no sin became sin and paid the debt that we could not pay. For the wages of sin is death. All who repent and believe in Him may be reconciled to God and saved from death and Hell.

It's very telling that it takes a forty-five minute sermon to explain something that should take less than 2 minutes. This is a perfect illustration of exactly why Christians can't seem to agree on much of anything -- not even the definition of the gospel itself.
The gospel is the good news that God the Father, being rich and abounding in mercy, sent His only begotten Son to Earth to die on a cross and most importantly to bear our deserved punishment for our own sin, so that whosoever will believe on his name and repent of their sins will be saved by grace and the Holy Spirit through faith, and spend eternity with God in His kingdom.

Why ANYONE would trade the gospel of God's grace for ANY other false message, especially one borne out of the condemning LAW which NO man can keep perfectly IS astonishing. I can only imagine Paul's marvelling at such a concept once he actually understood God's truth and plan regarding these things.

They could be restated simply as, Ehrman's conclusions regarding the implications of the last sections of Mark are not consistent with the totality of Mark's gospel, both preceding and proceeding portions, and what we see is that totality is actually in perfect agreement with the other gospels.
