one of the nicest thing here that wichniakov does, is that he is feeling it!! Aside from his very deep range, I like his classical profondo voice. This is the first time I hear him singin in the bass range, normally his solos are for profondo but he achieves a nice job in here. Thank you BalticPromotion for sharing this video!
My already great respect for Mr. Wichniakov is increased ... such intensity of expression, such lovely warmth in his upper range (and such effortless lower notes, of course)! So beautiful! This is now my favorite recording of this piece ... I will listen to this again!
I remember attending a concert given by this choir in the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, England, a couple of years ago. If I’m not mistaken Yuri Wichniakov sang with the choir on that occasion. It was a very memorable experience. Thank you for posting this superb reminder.
actually there are recordings of him doing do not reject me on the tube, but no live performance that i've seen. some guy named gudpeder has a nicely remastered version of do not reject me and also we bow before thy cross. should be easy to look up with those keywords.
