We were so thrilled to see y'all at the Swift Rapids Lock. We absolutely love your videos because watching them gives us all the memories of our time on the Loop. We greatly appreciate all your hard work to capture it. ❤
You folks are leavin the dream!, Jo you are an awesome first mate. Call backs and the repeat of directions is very good culture. Have a safe trip. I will keep following./
Pulling into Anchorage AK in 1983 (June) passed Mirror Lake. Said to my buddy "look at those idiots swimming in this weather". We drove from south Florida and were wearing sweats and hoodies. Next summer I was one of those idiots in the water celebrating my 21st birthday.
We were put on the old marine rail lock even when we told them we were heavy and with a 14 foot beam a tad on the wide side. We requested to use the new, at that time (42 years ago), rail lock. We were told it was out of service at the time. Well, we were the first boat of the day to use the old wooden rail lock and as it turned out we were the last. As soon as we were off the boat it started to move down and soon became a runaway. They lost all control of it and as soon as the boat reached the end of the railway instead of coming to a slow stop it just kept going at full speed in to the water. A very big splash we saw as it drove into the water cradle and all. A baptism of sort as we were in a new water system with one lock to go before entering the Georgian Bay. The following year as soon as they saw us arrive, we were directed to the new marine railway.
Hey guys. I live on the north shore of Lake Couchaching. Glad you enjoyed our area. We enjoy taking guests to the marine railroad. Everyone is always impressed. Looking forward to more adventures.
I loved this video! I can see why you are a bit sad to leave the Trent Severn…I loved seeing the towns and homes along the water…such beauty all around! I’m looking very forward to THE BIG CHUTE! Oh and I would have been bundled up too if I was cruising along with you…I definitely seem to be colder than most! Safe travels!
I am so pleased that you enjoyed our Canadian water systems. We have done the Trent Severin several times and making it a quest again this year in a newer boat to us. . Your video brings back so many fond memories of great times and meeting so many wonderful people on our travels.
I knew you guys would love this last stretch if you liked the first stretch. When Jesus was still in diapers, I had an old 20' woody. We used to use the old chute. It was quite an experience. You guys are big into the cooking thing, My ex makes awesome buttertarts with either plain, or almonds, or walnuts. Look them up on the net. I'm sure there are recipes. If you like the commercial ones, you'll love your own. I'm still chuckling about you guys wearing winter clothes lol.
Love it, love it ,love it, can’t wait to watch you go over the big chute , just wondering if you ever considered doing a top ten of your favourite places on the loop?
The northern part of the TSW is beautiful. Too bad you did not have time to explore some of the side lakes and channels. Some intereting places to anchor out. Next time maybe?
Curious if you may have changed/added to your route since had to put on hold in 2021(?). Know you didn't do Dismal Swamp again, but was the Big Chute in the original plan?

Great show, thanks! Every time you talk about Pivot I think of metanoia. That's a good thing, especially today.
The lock at 8:30 Able Seaman Olly is only crew member wearing USCG approved life jacket..... heeza goo boy
Another great video.
So many great places for butter tarts but a good one that can be found all over are Rachel's Tarts. They're made in Trenton but available all over

Next time, no doubt!
Too funny to see you bundled up in coats and locals tubing and playing on the water with no coats in sight!
Haha no kidding...
timhortons from the store is way diffrent than from the outlet,I hope you got to try the real tim's coffee
If you come to Sault Ste Marie, you can get a bacon butter tart
Wow haven't heard of that one!
Rachels's butter tarts, Trenton, ON
Temperature-it’s like when Canadians go south in the winter and so happy to be wearing shorts while the locals are wearing pants and jackets
Curious if you may have changed/added to your route since had to put on hold in 2021(?). Know you didn't do Dismal Swamp again, but was the Big Chute in the original plan?
Do you have glow plugs to warm on your engine before starting it?
hope you listened to some Gordon Lightfoot while there, it's his home town.
Butter tarts are the best
💯💯💯
Boat train
!
Not sure if I missed it but do get some real maple syrup before leaving Canada
Are you sure you were in Orillia? Cute?
Definitely!
