Hi this video is really cool. I especially like the first trick with the expression pedal, it sort of plays the same role as the Live Knobs of the PSR E4xx, right? The thing with the reading lamp is also very neat if you need to read some sheet music, should try that out on my DGX 650, too. Almost laughed myself to death with the disco lamp - could be neat for a children’s birthday party. A question on pedals: since there is no mod button (let alone a wheel) on the 3k, is it possible with any controller, pedal or else, to activate/deactivate the Leslie effect on an organ, or other DSPs for that matter? I feel that the biggest issue with the 3k, apart from its nightmarish OS, is its lack of physical controllers. My idea of Paradise on Earth: the Aix sound engine with the controllers of the Yamaha DJX and Korg joystick.
My heart also skipped a beat when I saw that 'trick' back then - but for a different reason... A USB port designed for attaching a flash drive is designed to only supply the tiny amount of power needed to operate that kind of device. The AC adapter bundled with your keyboard is also barely sufficient to power the internal speakers. So - any feelings of exhilaration and triumph from operating a disco ball, xmas tree lights, etc. off that lil' defenseless USB port are not likely to last very long...
Oh me too (in reference to your last comment there!) There are only 4 parameters that can be controlled with the foot pedal and none of them involve sound modulation unfortunately.
I believe it gives the normal 5.5 volts, but that's a good point about the speakers, it's conceivable that there might be a drop in maximum volume. Maybe a power adapter with more mA would overcome that. I'm not sure.
Nice demonstration sir👍👍👍 Anyway, does the rotating knob "selector" of the ctx3000 has a backlit? The selector that has a red color to select voices..Thanks..
Welll we all Despise the Ctx os I’ve learn some behavior trick and what I do is go to the mixer/part button to see what see what section yer on eg... if I want to work on the autoaccomp. Then you have to change it to rythem mode, keyboard and SYSTEM and solo mode are for there own world that’s the key to the beast understanding those different worlds
Regard your issue with No File upon insertion of a USB stick, I think you need to have Casio format the USB which is FAT32, compatible with both Win/Mac, then copy your MP3 files to that USB stick. 2020-12-20
Yep I've discovered that since filming this. I've found it also helps to have nothing else on the USB except the music you want to play. Hope you enjoyed the video :)
Well - maybe-not everybody's idea of a rousing good time: 2 mins to d/l file & move to flash drive; then 1/2 hour of progress bar crawling across display...
Sorry, V - I don't own one, so I can't add anything to my comment above. However, you will need to obtain the update from Casio's website for your region, where you will also find all of Casio's 'official' info re. the update and how to verify if your unit shipped with that latest firmware already installed...
@@longzheart Ohh I see. Thanks for the reply. I ended up buying a separate mixer to connect its output to the keyboard - which, surprisingly, actually packs a punch!
Haven't tried this m'self, but - in deference to CT-X series audiophile (Audio-file?) aspirations - I believe you'll need to feed Cassie WAV or MID "SMF" files... (on a FAT32-formatted stick, 32GB or smaller) Haute Cuisine, 'eh? No barbie for Cassie! ;)
Spoken like a DOS-era survivor... From a Mac, the MS-DOS erase option resulted in FAT32 format; my MZ-X and CT-X easily recognize the same stick. Firmware uploads must be placed at Root on the stick, but 1st time you select Audio from your CT-X 'board, you'll get a folder helpfully created called "MUSICDAT" where your WAV files must reside... I mean, how thoughtful is that - huh? Here, I was thinkin' that Casio jus' didn't care... And, I hafta say - 40 Watts of stereo goodness makes for an impressive Boom-Box! (My dog vacated the cave immediately.) Dunno if I'll look silly or super - strutting about the lawn with this keyboard perched on m' shoulder. (Ouch!) Apparently, MID files must be re-formed into SMF format then further transmuted into CMF files... (Who told you that the Life of a Musician would be easy?) >
Amazing trinks thanks!!
Glad you like them!

Can try android/iOS midi controller apps,I tried android “midi commander” and it functioned on ctx3000
@@deltadanman USB power is standardised. No reason to think this will cause an issue.
What's the name of that knob pedal once again? I can't clearly hear it on the video
The brand is called "Nose"
Midi files and WAV has to be named like DOS file in /MUSICDAT folder. No MP3. i.e. GOLDBUG.MID

No, it's just a red plastic circle

So your saying that if I wanted to play music through my iPhone it won’t work ?
You could use the Aux-in, but not the USB

I was looking for a bluetooth x-mitter so I xmit to b.t. speakers....doh! Like the disco light though probably need sunglasses...

It’s up to you to start a community CTX Heaven ahh ah
Hmmm maybe, but there's a lot of pain in CT-X land, as in it's very difficult operating system. Maybe it could be like a support group! :)
Buenas noches. No le pasa nada al teclado si conecto una tira led. Al puerto usb. Como esta en el video?????
Debe haber algo mal con él, o algo mal con la toma USB del teclado. Tal vez necesite más energía de la que puede proporcionar la toma USB.
Caught you throwing some shapes there Mr G
haha yeah you won't often see that much personality in my videos!
Btw... Have you applied Firmware update to your CT-X3000?
I believe it was posted on 28 July for USA. Claims to fix problem saving registrations.
No I haven't tbh. Could be a good idea for a video.

Hello, can you put and use a simple lav mic on the 3.5mm audio input jack? Thanks!
You can but I think it'd be very hard to get any decent level from the mic
Ohh, I see. Thanks!
you need a mic preamp,i tried

Actually my ctx 800 has an expression on the left side

Yes I was thinking that to ensure compatibility I should format the usb on the keyboard itself.

Maybe original format of usb needs to be fat 32 not a quick format
Yes I think there are a lot of variables that need to be considered
