I never heard any songs by Rivers of nihil but after seeing this I immediately went on a RON binge and found that they are a fucking brilliant band! Been listening to them everyday since. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I love this man with all my heart. Incredible drummer and vocalist and is somehow an even better human. What a huge inspiration 🥹😍🫶

Because the wash on these cymbals is extreme. They require magnets to calm em down which dulls the tone.

This is the first time I see any Meinl drum artist use the HCS line up
they sometimes use some hcs as part of a stack, but very rare to see someone use it as a standalone cymbal. same with mangini using zbt/zht hats. would not be my first choice tbh :D

His doubles are very clean, but they are doubles so powerful might not be the best way to describe the 32nd runs. Phenomenal player though.

This might be the first time a meinl drum video has samples in another drum than the bassdrum
And it's VERY annoying - totally defeats the object of showcasing the cymbals IMHO, all this hypercompressed, eq'd, clickety clicky machine gun drumming only showoffs the drummer, the cymbals could be any brand and any price range.
@@PrantoKoX i totally get drummers that use kick triggers but i dont get why you would sample the snare on these videos
How are you so sure it's sampled? The kick is obviously, but I don't think it's as clear the snare is. Very possible he's just that consistent with his hits.

Excellent playing. LOVE Meinl and play em myself. But honestly I’m getting tired of all this super heavy stuff. How about spreading it out musically and showing the full spectrum of what Meinl can do through all genres?
