    Good vid. I had a super 7 when I lived in the U.K. I'm gutted now because I sold it before moving to Thailand. I want to build a small shop out here but getting a myford will be hard to find out here so maybe a Chinese one worst luck lol

      Cheers, Keep looking, some Chinese ones are ok but even after getting one I would keep looking for a Myford.

      @@mattsbitsnbobsworkshop Myfords are so expensive now I saw a couple for 4.000 pounds up! Myfords are good but they are limited I think. Boxford's are more stronger

      @@dermotkelly2971 All lathes have limitations, yes boxfords are a bigger machine (centre height etc) both have a lot of accessories and parts still on offer. As to prices it's what they are worth to the buyer. Good look in finding what you want.

    Is there any difference in the outer diameter of the spindle ? I am considering to buy a super7 headstock but is has no pulleys or gears on it and was wondering if i can transfer the ml7 gears and pulley to the super 7 shaft. Thanks

      Hi Clayton, sorry for late reply, not 100% sure but I know they are not far off, the only reason you may find a difference is the pulley is 4 not 3 and the back gear is different. Give Myford a bell on 01422 885766 always very helpful.

    Hello! I got a super 7 in basically mint condition. The problem is I live in Sweden and have no use of it. It is not metric and to small for my needs. Is there any forum in UK you can recommend where I can sell it?

      Hi Erik, thanks for watching, there is the Model engineering forum and lots of groups on Facebook, the problem would be shipping, personally I would look at selling in Sweden. I'm sure lots of people would want it over there, good luck.

    What are the differences in bed dimensions in terms of a cross section?

    • @mattsbitsnbobsworkshop
      @mattsbitsnbobsworkshop  2 года назад

      Gave or take a few thou here and there the ways are pretty much the same on both lathes but over the years the bed castings have had small changes. Some have ribs in between the ways instead of solid casting as on the early ML7s for a bit more rigidity and others have a deeper scallop behind the lead screw to take the drive for the power cross feed. The original design has basically lasted throughout it's life. Hope this is what you are referring to and helps a bit, thanks for watching.
