Thank you for this. The instructions in the box are as clear as contaminated water👍
Cathy Boo Thanks for the feedback! Please consider sharing the video and information on your social media, it really helps to get the message out there.
Great video mike, thanks for all of your videos and information, it helps a lot
Thanks it is nice to hear that I am doing something constructive with my time 😁
Thank you for this video, this was so useful!
thanks for watching
Another helpful video! Again, a million times more useful than Brita's instructions.
Happy to help. Hopefully the second video was an improvement on the first one?
Certainly was; good to see it put in layman's terms. Love the Brizzle accent by the way! ;)
Lol, Are you local to the area?
Grew up in the Thornbury/Yate/Dursley sort of area but I've since moved away. Nice to go back occasionally though! :-)
I'm in the Downend area quite near Yate 😀
Thank you. Much better watching this than instructions. 🙏🏻👍🏼 think I’ve got a phobia of instruction manuals !!
Thanks for watching 🤓
Great video - so helpful! Thank you 😄

Very helpful video! Thank you :D
Thanks for watching 😀
Jesus... You deserve a damn Oscar award for being able to talk about such a simple device for 16mins, not even my ex-wife could manage such a thing.
3mins from 05:00 to 08:00 just to mention how long the thing takes to filter 1 liter of water is a bit too much... I dont mean to be rude or offensive, just some constructive criticism, this is not a spaceship engine your reviewing, just a water filter.
Lol thanks point taken. 😉
Funny
😂😆
at 6.35 minutes I paused the video and had to go to the toilet. I wonder why. I haven't actually seen the first review you did, but good on you taking the negative feedback and proving you can do a great job
Lol sorry for the forced toilet break😚 and thanks for the kind words
Great product. I've dabbled with various Brita models, over the years, but plumped for a cheaper, rival brand back in the New Year.
The water always tasted a bit strange and at the last change over, there was something akin to a "green slime" impossible to shift around the area where the filter was placed.
So, I plumped for one of these about a month ago and managed to pick up some reasonably priced filters in bulk at Amazon.
The difference was noticeable from the off..using the "tea test!" ;O)
Not only that, but it tastes great and the build of the jug/lid/opening to pour water etc.etc is much better than the cheaper one.
I don't put it in the fridge, as I prefer my water at room temperature and also use it for cooking etc.
Thanks for the feedback Wild Heart! It is nice to know i'm not just muttering away to myself :-) I never thought to use the water for cooking! Have you tried cooking pasta with it? Does it taste better / worse / no difference?
I am now thinking of different things i can use it to cook with now!
Thanks again for your input and hope to hear from you again soon!
Great video. I bought one today. My first impression was "..jesus, that tastes wierd". We are used to a kind of mineralised taste to our water but after filtering, it tastes somehow empty and pure. Anyone in the UK and Ireland, be careful. Mike got his for £5 in the Co-op. Tesco had this last week for €14 and today it was back up to full retail price at €27 here in Ireland. It might pay you to shop around, the prices vary wildly. Get one though, the filtration is great.
Thanks John for your comments I like the way you describe the taste as pure.
There is currently an offer on at Tesco's stores UK you can buy this unit 2.4L for £10 and six cartridge refills for £20 that normally cost £30 offer ends on the 26th of December 2019
Great offer thanks for the heads up
I actually got this filter mostly for making coffee and tea. :P The water in The Netherlands is of great quality, but just a little bit hard. This filter does a pretty good job making the water softer. Not only does the coffee taste better, it's also better for your water kettle and stuff.
Good to know!
Hey love your picture
Hey Mike, this was a great video, thank you. I didn't see your other one, but I did see another which was awful. You obviously improved based on what you said about take 2 lol. Cheers mate.
Thanks 🙏 yes it was a slight improvement 😇
Your video was awesome! Don’t be to hard on yourself :)
Thank you so much!!
Fab video you are a life saver! The hand manual for it is useless 😡😡
I wonder if it is mend to fill it up so the water come,s higher then the filter, never seen that before.
the pressure equalizes so it finds its own level and then when you pour the water the level drops and it continues filtering
real natural water doesn't taste weird.. when we went camping to the mountains and drank water from a stream it was almost sweet and definitely pleasant.
the difference seemed weird to me. Stream water will have many particles in it so would have a "taste" filtered water removes those particles and also the tastes associated with them
So me.... let's try this..... hum..... let's try again using the instructions. Hilarious. I am watching this to avoid reading the instructions for the jug I bought. Helpful video. Thanks :-)
Lol! Thanks for watching - hope you got yours up and running!
@@mikesunboxing Yes, and thanks to your helpful instructions I filled, filtered and emptied several times. Tomorrow will be the taste test.
@@DM-py7pj Enjoy!
You should have shown how it fits in the fridge
Good idea although I actually use mine at the room temperature it is supposed to be better for you?
I am sure you are only supposed to fill the jug up to the level of the filter, otherwise when you pour, you get water from both compartments .
there is a divider that goes to the top and prevents any water bypassing the filter first
Love your blue watch. What brand is that & how much?
It is the Fitbit surge with a blue amazon strap
Hi did you get the meter on top to work as we can not turn it on or does it only come on when you have used a number of times?
i just removed the plastic tab and pressed the button in for a while
Do you get water stuck under the filter? I've tried everything but a small amount of water always pools there
it does have a small bit left over in the housing but it is fresh from the last fill and gets flushed through
Hey I live in st lucia which is close to st vincent where the valcano erupted. The water supply has ash. Can I filter and drink ash water?
first of all glad you are okay, I am no expert when it comes to water contamination but i would think that the ash particles would be quite large so would be well within he scope of the filter in this jug. Regarding other toxins in the water i would be more hesitant to offer a specific yes or no.
I would definitely recommend asking Brita support i would hope they could answer this on a more scientific basis
Hi u missed one thing that I wanna ask, do we have to empty rejected water each circle??
no it flushes with the next fill
Anybody ready this on 5/6/21...they are £10 at asda at the minute!
Thanks for advising of this offer :-) Have a great weekend!
Hi Mike, I just bought a brita marella and I wonder if it's normal that there is residual water below the filter in the upper compartment. Meaning that when I pour, this water remains in the brita and is stuck. Thanks so much in advance for your feedback
Sometimes this happens but don’t worry about it
I do notice some water seep beside the cartridge.. is that normal?
Does this filter fluoride?
The BRITA filter does not remove fluoride as it is a negatively charged ion (anion) and the ion exchange Brita use only works on positively charges ions (cations)
Yeah, love this bloke. Ah that taste really weird. may be I should of cleaned the filter first. 😆 🤣 😂.
May be reading the instruction is the best course of action.
😂 Yes 😂
Shouldn’t the filtered water level remain below filter level? You immersed the filter in water since the water level went well above the filter. 10:20
the filtered water will equalise depending on the amount of fluid in the top and bottom chambers
just bought exactly the same product, plus two packs of filters, washed out the jug and components with hot water, fitted the filter that came with the jug, after washing it in the jug,not under the tap, have now emptied jug out 5 times, and although the water is clear, there is a definite aftertaste of charcoal, very disappointing,
really that is strange? I would contact Brita and get their take on it maybe a bad filter?
Hi Mike...just purchased the Brita Aluna recently and would like to ask a storage question.
Do you recommend storing the 'filtered water' in PLASTIC or GLASS jugs? I'll still use the jug but I drink loads of water (plus using it for brews & cooking ect)
Appreciate your response ☕🫖🥤
glass is better but they say that the plastic used in these are design to be less or totally non toxic or bleed into the water
@@mikesunboxing
Cheers...thanks for responding 👍🏽
PS
I'm loving the filtered water 💧 💧💧
I don't think you're supposed to second fill it to the top as that second fill will not be filtered. This what confuses me about those jugs. I need answers!
it will be filtered as it goes through the filter when the level drops
@@mikesunboxingyes, but when you pore it, the untiltered water is what comes out of the spout
@@helenatroy33 really? That makes no sense.
Yes, If you fill it too much, like I did.. when you pour you get a mixture of filtered and water from the reservoir. You are not supposed to fill past the 'equal' mark at the filter.
yeah sure is a chatter box
sorry
does anyone have same issue? when water is filtered there are remains between filter and the box in the space where filter is not fully attached to the box. I got advise from Brita reseller that every evening I should remove filter and spill out remaining water as it could spoil being there for few days. stupid advise right as I expected that once I install filter I will remove it after month when replacing for new one.
there is a little space in there but keep the water topped up and it won't go bad that is if yours looks like mine in the video
@@mikesunboxing what do you mean it won't go bad? water spoils if stays too long untouched. bacteria etc.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating.
We have since upgraded to British Berkefeld: ruclips.net/video/is2ib6YrzL8/видео.html Filters out a lot more
A fiver? mine was 15 quid with 1 filter, nice vid cheers mate.
It was a proper bargain! A bought a couple
cheers Mike, I just had a cup of tea with the filtered water. I can't believe the difference in purity.. wow...
Yeah the difference is quite shocking. Glad you like it
os this one the smaller one 2.5 littler or. the larger one 3.5 litters. ?
See which one fits your fridge door if you are cooling it or if not and it is going to be ambient temperature then go for the larger one
Are we allowed to ask questions here? My android is having problems. I tried your Google voice settings but no fix yet. There is no sound for incoming calls, no dial tone, no sound on videos, calls can only be heard on speaker or headset. This happened to people that were next to me too. All of our phones just couldn't get audio from incoming calls, dial tone, etc unless on speaker or using headset. Is there a way to fix this? Also is it possible that something messed up everyone's phone? It wasn't just mine but the people next to me. We were just talking and our phones went hay wired on us. Thanks in advance!
very odd? for one phone to do it maybe, but a few, that sounds like some type of emp attack!
Mike's unboxing, reviews and how to They all had Bluetooth. I managed to fix it by plugging my headphones and leaving it for a while. Once removed the sound came back. Still not sure what caused it.
Seems like a sick 😷
Can i pour filtered water in a bottle?
yes you can use it in many ways as you would with any drinks
11:53 very weird water
slow mo water
if planning to also boil it for microbes, should i boil it (and let it cool down) before filtering it for chemicals, or filtering and then boil it? also, after it's filtered, should i immediately move it in a glass container, or is it safe to always leave it in that plastic container?
not sure sorry not something that i have tried or have knowledge of
@@mikesunboxing thanx
£5?!!!! Bloody bargain!! I’ve just bought my first filter jug today from amazon for £19-60
I bought a few of them! cheaper than the filters 😀
I got one of these for 35, but it came with 2 extra filters.. Plan to just buy another in 6 months or so, since the filters are almost 50 :D
Welcome to the Brita filter family 🥳
thats not filtering, its coming out the side.
No it is definitely filtering the water pushes down from the top through the filter and comes out the other side.
I think if it didn’t filter Brita would have been out of business a long time ago
@@mikesunboxing i just got one, and the cartridge is not sealing along the side, and the water should come from the funnel at the bottom through the filter. yours is doing exactly what mine is doing (i can see the immediacy of the stream), its coming down the side of the cartridge. I've contacted brita and they have admitted a fault.
I have questions.
If you dont keep it in the fridge will you get mould and backteria in the fillter?
If kept in the fridge will the clock timer be ok?
What is the fillter as I've seen cheaper ones that are not Brita. That will fit?
Anyone?
the fridge will prevent bacteria better than being left in the daylight and ambient temps, same with all fluids like milk etc.
The timer is designed to be used in a low temp but not freezing as the liquid crystal will break
the cheaper ones seem to work fine, although we have switched to the british berkfield filter system which costs less and filters better.
hope this helps
All filtered water tastes weird, you have to add electrolytes to it
Yes you could add salt water sole :-)
I followed your US Amazon link and the same filter as you showed has three filters in the box, but it costs $114 usd. The cheapest filter on the page is about $29. A bit pricey here. I guess I'll just keep buying bottled water because my tap water is only good for showers and the toilet. How's you spider bite. I can still see the red mark on your arm. No spiderman skills yet?
Hi Oletta, i just added a better link for Our US cousins, let me know if it works for you? It is a different design but the same principles.
Spider bit scar is getting caught on everything but i won't put a band aid on it (because i'm a man) so it keeps on ripping and bleeding! Still no spider powers although i'm starting to dislike the rain. Does that count?
Checked out the new link. I'll have to do the math to see if it's cheaper than buying bottled water. If I decide to buy one I'll of course you link so you can get your few pennies. ;) Don't blame you for not wearing a bandaid, I don't much use them either. A scar is like a tattoo with a better story. LOL
it is for only a month of water
The Brita filter clock battery is made so it cannot be replaced you have to buy a new clock or a new system all together... 👎🏽
Yes, that is a downside :-(
Jimmy cars has lost all his hair !!
Thanks but no thanks haa has haa has (Jimmy Carr laughter)

VROOOOONG....READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE YOU MAKE A VIDEO LIKE THIS.
How so?
@@mikesunboxing If people use your video as instructions, they can't know, they have to put the filter in cold water and shake it gentle from side to side to remove any bobbles. An important part to include in your video.
Good point. Remind me why the air bubbles are a bad thing
@@mikesunboxing It's not for me to decide whether air bubbles are a bad thing or not, I'm just referring to the instructions.
I did just rewatch the video and I did mention the washing process and the twin cycle before use. Maybe i should have also shown the way it was done.
Maybe next time 😁
