    Did you know that Montana Rusa is Spanish for roller coaster? So their icon was just named Roller Coaster… that’s like naming your restaurant, Restaurant!

      Yes, I've seen a few Spanish coasters use that name as well.

    I missed visiting La Feria, but I visited Ventura Park which is owned by the same company. Same terrible operations and nearly every single dry attraction in the park was closed. It takes a LOT for me to actively say I hate a park, but between my time at Ventura and the many negative reviews of La Feria and Selva Magica, it's very unlikely I'll ever visit another park by them.

    • @CanobieCoaster

      I was in Cancun a few years ago and decided against Ventura because of the ride lineup. Sad to hear they had bad ops too.

      Also, in June of this year, the 4 other Ventura-owned parks got sold to The Dolphin Company, the same company that runs Zoomarine in Italy. Admittedly that park isn’t run the greatest either, but it’s still better than La Féria, so Selva and the other parks are probably a bit better now.

    I can see why you’ve reached the conclusions you have about the park, especially with some of the bad luck you had in terms of timing. But my experience was very different. I did two half days in February of 2019, and I had a real blast, even if it did take two visits to get most of the credits.
    1. I found the park to be festive, quaint, and charming.
    2. The people at the ticket booth were quite helpful, even if they didn’t speak English. On the first day, they told me Cascabel was closed and was very unlikely to open that day; that Montaña Rusa might open but they weren’t sure; and that Quimera was closed but should open. All of that was about right. Cascabel never opened for my two visits. Montaña Rusa was open for my second visit. And Quimera opened after an hour or two on the first day (and it was open on my second day).
    3. As you described, a lot of the rides were awesome, especially how they were run. Definitely the wildest wild mouse I’d ever encountered, and the haunted house was one of the most hilarious experiences I’ve ever had at an amusement park.
    4. The food choices were quite poor, but everything was inexpensive, including admission.
    Operations were a bit slow, but nothing ridiculous. In fact, the operations at, say, Mount Olympus or at SFM in the same city were ten times worse during my visits.
    Obviously, something was wrong with how the park was operated as the Quimera tragedy seems to have been down to poor maintenance, but that tragic issue aside, this park was a wonderful experience for me. Granted, it’s such a small place that my expectations were not high, but I left feeling charmed and more than satisfied.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  4 года назад

      I'm glad you enjoyed La Feria and with better operations, I definitely would have because it has a nice mix of attractions. I'm hoping someone else comes in to operate this park and can unlock its potential.

    • @CanobieCoaster

      La Feria had a different enough lineup to successfully coexist with Six Flags Mexico, but the operations were terrible.

    • @jornar10
      @jornar10 4 года назад +2

      Not sure if you know but after the city government closed it they revoked the license to operate and started an investigation into the operator. They also launched a bid to award a different operator the license and among the companies bidding was Six Flags.
      To my knowledge they have not awarded the license but hopefully whoever gets it turns the park around. It’s so sad two people had to die for this to happen.

    I'm from Mexico and it hurts to know that is the worst park but unfortunately is the sad true, this park is historic from Mexico, since 1961 this park has been very representative to Mexico, I really hope Indiana Beach can operate Quimera and Cascabel in a safe way

    Now we know you don't have to worry about the operation of the park. The last remnants, including Montaña Rusa, are being demolished.
    My experience? That was back in 1981 and many of these attractions you reviewed were not in the park at that time. As a matter of fact the only roller coaster at that time was Montaña Rusa. Still, I was very lucky for two reasons. Number One is that this coaster was in full racing mode. From what I understand this coaster has six trains total, but they were running four back in 1981. Number Two is that this was before the reprofiling that was done in 1993 by Custom Coaster Inc, essentially removing a good share of the negative G's on this coaster. I consider myself lucky to have experienced Montaña Rusa the way it was originally designed to operate.

    I'm not sure I've ever heard anybody refer to Mexico City as beautiful as many times as you have. Or actually I don't think I've ever heard anybody call it beautiful in my life. The only cool thing I think about it is the fact that they can squeeze as many people into that place as they can it's amazing how crowded it is. But the city is pretty much the most dirty metro I've ever been to. And let's not forget you're pretty much guaranteed to get a raging migraine daily from the unbelievable amount of pollution in the air. You can smell it from any point ..... I don't mean to be a downer on Mexico City necessarily, but as far as the world's big metropolis it pretty much ranks as the worst or one of, and is easily the worst of the big cities I have ever been to in the world….
    As for the park, it's pretty terrible. But it's kind of a given I think. I've got to agree their coaster lineup is pretty unique. Russa To me was more of a Urban legend or something because that ride was weak as h***. It's pretty neat looking. But that Coaster ranks down there with some of the worst like Carrowinds hurler Or whatever it's called now .
