M850i design is no no. Looks like a Mustang with weird sloping roofline, and also weird rear design. Mercedes in other hand, has flowing smooth lines, from front to rear.
Car at this segment range should be more driving focused and sporty. Hence BMW is also good in comfort(front seats) and modern tech that make the BMW win.

Yea it's right but don't forget the interior quality of Benz cheap plastics here and there makes it cheap but in BMW even if it is not that luxurious as Benz it offers good quality interior materials for the price and the focus of BMW is not luxury alone but also sportiness and so the Benz never drives as beautiful as a BMW ...BMW rocks 🤘
Not bad for the S coupe since it was released in 2015 while on the other hand, the bmw was released in 2019 and has newer technology . I know that this is a facelift but usually in facelift you don’t see a significant improvement in the car. But it’s impressive how the mercedes can still keep up with bmw and even bears it in luxury and ergonomics. BMW usually wins in performance.
This guy will make a good car reviewer in the next 20 years, dont review cars if you are still biased towards a certain brand, a quick reference, the BMW makes those very same pops like you are doing with that benz, the i-drive system in the BMW has always been the best even in this generation, so is the head-up display, you try to make up for why the benz is slow by justifying that it wasnt build for perfomance......of cause, thats why you have the S63 and the M8, you lost credibility, at least to me...
For now, Volkswagen does not have a two-door coupe in this class to choose Volkswagen and I'm sorry for that. But still I'm going to luxury, so I chose Mercedes-Benz S560 Coupe !
BMW drop the Dual clutch transmission. It uses the traditional ZF-8spd adaptive transmission. Both the BMW 8 coupe and Mercedes S coupe are amazing car, but this guy doesn't seem to know much about these 2 vehicles. He just compare options and not see the obvious reason and the strong point of each vehicles.. sorry but I have to give this review a thump down!! :(
Damn right it is. Sound is subjective personally i do not want popping and farting in my 150k luxury coup that clearly is NOT a sports car. If i wanted that id step up to the AMG. If i want fantastic sound ill ride my motorcycle thank you.
Very different prices. The BMW starts at 100,000 USD while the Mercedes starts around 130,000. Big difference. Not to mention the S-Class gets dropped by the BMW’s 525 hp, 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds, twin-turbocharged V8 engine. Forgot that too, huh. Mercedes is for those who want luxury. The BMW is a sporty GT. VERY big differences.

@@MarekDrives Thanks for your response. I'm looking for a daily drive. I sometime travel long distances though, about 200 kms, so it'd be nice to have a comfortable cruiser. I'm deciding between the 8 series, S Class coupe, Lexus LC or the 911 (992). Apparently the Porsche and Lexus are the firmest of them all. Maybe it's because they aren't 4 seaters. Then again, reviews say that the BMW M5 competition is very firm. And so is the Merc E63. Tough one ... Thanks again for your prompt response
I'm not sure why you're looking specifically at the sporty end of the scale for a cruiser. Lexus LC (at least the hybrid version) is relatively comfortable, but the S class is definitely the most comfortable of the call. Not sure about the E63, as this would be the hardcore sporty version. Go with the "regular" M5. Why Competition?
Personally I'd would get the Lexus LC500 V8 over these. Looks better and such a presence. The BMW bedazzled crystal shifter is the most tacky think I've seen on a car since stick on plastic chrome fender vents. Yuck
I had (and sold) a 2019 LC500. Good GT. Underpowered for weight. It had a tacky piece of plastic in two very visible places. Made no sense. If you feel it is so superior to these two Germans let's see if you know where they're at.

The crackles and pops from the exhaust have no business being on these luxury cars. It's just plain stupidity. The BMW has a ZF auto transmission, not a dual clutch like you mentioned.
I drive the S550 coupé. Isn’t the M850 more in line with the S63? And apart from the MB being more luxurious, it is the flagship. Look at simple things like the rear defroster, it is almost invisible and the lines being so close, the entire rear window is cleaned without the lines! Showing as in mist cars. And as for noise, the 2015 MB coupé was the quietest car when it came out ( the double glaze windows help), and what about options that BMW does not have? Like the Sky magic roof ( similar to the Boeing 787 windows!). Sure you can power close the sunroof, but the sky magic darkest the window in seconds so you still feel airy.... In summary they are both great cars, the MB is luxurious and styling ( being subject ) is way nicer without the B pillar ( more costly to engineer, making the interior feel more open, and what can you say when all windows are down! Like the coupes of the 60’s). The BMW is sporty. So cats for two different buyers I think.
M850 is not the same as the M8. Kind of like AMG 53 vs. AMG 63, the former being "almost" AMG, and the latter being full-on AMG. BTW, I've driven the M8 (albeit Gran Coupe - ruclips.net/video/CkIq6n3pzP0/видео.html), and it was a totally different machine. M850 is just not worth it. It's better get an 840i (or even the diesel for long journeys) or go all out and buy the M8. And I'd still rather drive the S Class coupe :)
Make things more complicated than they are - use a phone instead of a key. Why is a small key so bad!? And you don’t have to worry any battery/password issues...
Hell nah imma need those air intakes to be real if I’m paying all that money for authenticity and luxury, I hate when Expensive luxury brands use fake exhaust, fake air outtakes and intakes, you’re basically just paying for the engine and the name, with is way too much.
BME is a better drive .. the Benz has always had the fancy interior .. I have a Benz and a bmw and I love my BMW more when it comes to the drive .. I love the body of the BMW more .. and I love th wi side of the Benz .. that’s why my Hubbz got me both .. 😂😂😂 not these models but I have them both
