I agree with the assignment to tell the kids they have to hand it in. It worked for me for a math class I was subbing for.

The schools here usually have me cover a different class for planning period, so I never count on a "Free" period.

What do you do if you need to send a student to the office, but they won't give you their name?

Call the office and have them send a security guard to the room to escort them 😊

Hi there! I love watching these types of videos!! Would you consider this a full time job? I already have a part time job and I am hoping to just try subbing a couple days a week to see if I want to become a teacher later on. Also, what is the process to become a substitute teacher? Is the pay decent?

@@tima1443 I am doing it full time now yes but subbing is considered per diem! You pick up shifts whenever you want to and make your own schedule so it’s very flexible! & the first step would be to call your local board of education and find out what subbing company they use. We use ESS so I applied through their website and went thru the hiring process with them. The pay if great honestly, $150/day for per diem and if your a permanent sub at a school it can be $175-$200 a day

@@AlyssaRodriguez oooh thank you for responding ! That’s awesome $175-$200 !! So I can choose my own schedule? That’s exciting!! Did you take any training beforehand to know how to execute lesson plans for any age level & is it expensive to pay for training? I’m 24 and only have my high school diploma- I think later on I want to go to school to become a 2nd grade teacher !

@@tima1443 the only training we got was a video training during the hiring process but that’s it 😅 you kinda just get thrown into it lol for my district you need atleast an associates degree to be a teacher sub, I think you can still get hired as a para professional though without a college degree they just pay a little less

I’m thinking of asking students who has a phone at the beginning of class and then asking them to turn them off after… does that sound like a good idea? 😮
