I think Cat deserved to win BUT Megan had just won three years ago, wearing a pinkish/peach gown, sporting the same bun hairstyle. Maybe the judges (especially Miss Julia Morley) thought that Cat is too "Megan-like". In Miss Universe, Cat is still as formidable, but she is herself. Not Megan, but herself.
Cat was a prototype of Megan. They had the same gown, same hairstyle and styling that Cat was not seen as authentic as she is. Just like Canada in Miss Universe 2006 - Alice looked just like Natalie Glebova in 2005.

Stephanie Delvalle of Puerto Rico that year was an amazing candidate and she proved it to everyone that year, she still works very close with MWO, the Filipino fans that year was soo focused on Cat, the attention was almost like she has won already.. They overlooked everyone else. Catriona was great but she came off as too rehearsed to me. I think I saw a more relaxed and fun version of Catriona only when she joined Binipining.
She was not an amazing candidate. She came from nowhere, no body betting for her, totally underwhelming that night, and yet she won. Hahaha! Keep being delusional. That will help you survive Covid.
I just think during the Q&A, bias-aside, maybe it is too eloquent for the judges. A huge number of the judges have English as not their first language. Even if they understand English fluently they may not be able to relate to the figures of speech she had used. That is why I really loved her Miss Universe final answer, because she painted a picture in our mind and she sounds very sincere and relatable.

Based on what I've seen, MW seems to emphasize eloquence and more polite mannerisms, and the gowns are more extravagant and princess-like. Whereas in MU you notice a lot of sexy gowns, more skin showing, fierce walks/poses/looks and heavier makeup. But both still great pageants that do great things for the world.

In my opinion, Catriona was good at Miss Wolrd, but her final answer was too pageanty. At Miss Universe, however, her final answer was more sort of realistic. She got straight to the point what she would specifically do. Also, she appeared to be more confident at Miss Universe. I think Miss World prepared her to delve deeper into herself, and so she did at Miss Universe.
Another reason as a neutral fan : when Catriona grey walked in that evening gown- her hair style and gown reminded us a lot of things we saw in Megan young.. So the judges would have been reminded of Megan young and that could have hindered her crowning.. Even as a non philipino when I saw her I only thought as another Megan.. Could not see her individuality beyond Megan's shadow in final night.. But when she competed in miss universe we could see her individuality.. We were not reminded of pia or anybody in her performance and that could also be the reason she missed miss world
This Megan meme was a straw that drowning supporter of PR keep clutching on to avoid drowning. If she was not resembling Megan, they would say ow she should have stick to the winning formula. This is an attempt to rewrite history.. that no robbery occurred.
That gown is NOT her personal choice, they made her wear that. She prepared a gown but they didn't allowed her to wear that. So that's why she competed at Bb. Pilipinas as INDEPENDENT candidate.
Totally agree.. Catriona during Miss World is a proof that there is no formula to winning. Maybe the Philippines thought that if they replicate Megan Young, then they could have another victory. But wrong. The difference between MW & MU, if you notice, MW winners don’t have a prototype. Every year is a different winner in which you can’t predict. Unlike MU, when pageantologists and pageant fans predict something, the final result almost seemed accurate during finals night.

As much as I loved her so much as our Miss Universe 2018, my heart broke when she did not win Miss World 2016. Honestly, if she was packaged not almost similar to Megan, she could’ve been Philippines’ 2nd Miss World. But interesting to see, for the last 20 years, only CHINA and INDIA won Miss World twice. The rest from 2000-2020, different countries win Miss World, and MWO doesn’t keep the same countries win every year.
Two more Indians should have won Vanya Mishra and Koyal Rana.Its dissapointing that they were not even selected to be in the top 5 despite having the highest scores after all the preliminaries.I wonder what type of system did they keep in place during the years these two Miss Indias participate.
Siera I like you a lot because you are honest and respectful. Good opinion of yours. I’m from Puerto Rico and I remember watching the pageant that night and when Catriona answered, I was very impressed on how eloquently she answered that question. I have many many years watching pageants and I also coached several girls in the past so I can humbly say that I have the skill to catch when someone is rehearsed and someone who gives a genuine answer. I honestly thought that she was going to win only because she wasn’t 2nd or 1st runner up. I remember saying to a friend “wow this damn pageant that we can’t win it again? Why? Miss Philippines has to win this, hands down. But when Miss Puerto Rico won that night, and with the whole excitment that I had I started to analyze the final q & a and in my opinion Catriona, delivered so perfect that sometimes that kind of perfection pass as a fake/rehearsed answer, something that the Miss World organisation hates. There is a lot of examples when you watch previous Miss World pageants that a contestant that delivers a “presidential speech” never wins and the one with a simple answer that seems to be happy and genuine is the one that eventually ends up winning. So in 2016 that girl was Miss Puerto Rico, not Catriona. Finally, like you said, that was meant to be, because she won Miss Universe! and winning Miss Universe is much more awesome than Miss World. Congratulations to her because she is one of the best pageant contestant in history, and ended up winning the super bowl of beauty.
I don't think she lost because of the puerto rican judge. In MU and in MW for example there have been mexicans, colombinas, etc. judging and the girl from their country just make it to the first cut or most of the times they don't even make it! Stephanie deserved to win.

Be Ognare 1. fast track (esp since 2016 when it went back to the original fast track format instead of scoreboard) were meant as automatic passes to the final line up, but other than that they bear no real credit into the final deliberation. Well certainly if one excels in the fast tracks she would leave a good impression to the judges, but it is not everything. 2. MW 2016 did not really have a lot of placements for fast tracks. There were only Top 20 for Talent + Top 24 for Sports + Top 5 for BWAP + Top 5 for Top Model + Only winner for Multimedia. So was Puerto Rico really performing underwhelmingly in the fast tracks? Or was it simply there were too few placements available that year?
I think it’s very unfair to say that something happened behind the scenes because there was ONE Puerto Rican judge. Aside from Julia and other members of the MW organization, there was a Turkish, Indonesian, Russian, Icelandic, and British judge. One judge does not have sole discretion of the winner...

Actually her pageant camp was responsible for that. The dress that she wore in the after party was suppose to be her gown but her mentors changed it and they basically made her megan 2.0 . That is why she was an independent candidate in BP so she could control everything.
The problem she had at MW is that she was not natural, she seemed so scripted. Miss PR was spontaneous, which Catriona lacked that. Even her answers were basically a repeat from her national pageant. @ MU she was way more relax and natural.

In the final night, the judging panel comprise of an Indonesian ND, Puerto Rican ND,.. And on her final gown that was not the gown she wanted to wear, she was supposed to wear a Mak Tumang

Puerto Rico was the best on the night! She deserved it! And at the same time this does not mean that the other ladies of the top 5 weren't wonderful competitors as well
And let's not forget two other Miss World 2016 alums that also had success as crossovers after being unplaced in their Miss World 2016 stints in Venezuela's Diana Croce who finished second runner-up in Miss International 2017 and Chile's Antonia Figueroa who finished in the Top 12 in Miss Earth 2018.

Thanks for making this video and speaking about this so openly. Usually when this comes up there are a lot of negative comments and because of that, a real conversation is not really possible, I feel. For me there are three things that always come up when seeing people discuss this topic: 1. For me, there was a lot of negativity surrounding Catriona the year she competed in Miss World. And that had NOTHING to do with her. But the PH fans were so vocal and negative and rude about how she HAD to win or the pageant would be rigged etc. There was so much rudeness and disrespect going on with the fans that to me, that completely overshadowed Catriona. Only when she won Miss Universe, I was able to really see her. I don't know if this was the same for some of the jury members, but I know that if I would have been in the jury, this might have tipped the scale the wrong way for her, just because the fans created such a negative 'vibe' around her. 2. This is very minor, but I didn't like her styling at MW. Especially the bun. She probably was going for a Megan Young vibe, but that just didn't fit her enough to really shine. 3. When you compare her in MW and her in MU, you see the difference in styling and to me she was really embracing her inner strength. In MW she was a girl, in MU she was a powerful woman ❤

May be you have forgotten that there are fans of pageants from other countries as well that have produced amazing queens at par with Catriona or perhaps even better than her...

I think the reason why Catriona didn't win in Miss World is because of her answer. I thought it was a make or break for her, and obviously it broke her chances. Catriona's final answer was more like philosophical, in that she uses metaphors which is vague and not straight to the point. Compare her answer to Miss Puerto whose final answer was direct and tangible, and therefore relatable. #justmy2cents

As you have mentioned in other videos of yours, the interview and the development of the candidate during the contest is super important, and nobody knows how each candidate did in that area because it is something that we do not have access to. Commenting that Stephanie may have been somewhat advantageous for having a Puerto Rican jury that night, that for me is a fairly limited opinion. Stephanie proved to be the candidate the organization was looking for as, four years after her triumph, she continues to actively work with the Miss World organization and is currently a Beauty with a Purpose Ambassador. Catriona is a person who has the gift of speech and expresses herself very well and although I consider that she is a good candidate, it cannot be denied that her fans have favored her significantly and I consider it unfair that fans minimized the work of the top 3 of the Miss World 2016 for the simple fact that her candidate did not win that year.
Looking through the comments on various videos I am glad I am not the only one to notice the pro-Filipino stance Siera has, understandable given her history with the Philippines. Fish gotta swim and views have to be get. However I wish she would address the dark side of the Filipino pageant fan base and that is their toxicity. Last year they were so hell bent on getting the back to back they stooped very low to do so. What they said about the other candidates left me utterly dumbfounded all under the guise of "constructive criticism" and "just my opinion". Surely as a youtuber Mrs. Bearchell has to at least have seen their comments and at the very least should address them from a neutral stance, given she herself was also a victim of their's that she had to delete a video critical of Miss Earth.

Cat was impeccable too during her 2016 Miss World participation. However, we must accept the fact that Puerto Rico’s answer was also intelligent; it was short but sweet and she was so natural. Somehow, the answer of Cat appears to be memorized. Fate brings Cat to win Miss Universe by first failing to make it at Miss World 2016. Her failure has moulded her to become the creative and fierce Catriona that she has become and eventually won the 4th Miss Universe crown for her country.

Maybe her answer is great but it doesn't speak on practicality,it is already a prepared answer coz she knew the common questions during miss world finals. I'm a Filipino but Catriona's answer in miss world is more on decorative speech,not practical,and imagination. Even in miss universe,I don't like her very obvious fake laugh. But I'm proud she won.
The Puerto Rican in the pageant wasn’t just a Puerto Rican, She was the National Director of Puerto Rico. Same goes for the Indonesia National Director in the panel who probably had a hand in Miss Indonesia being a runner-up

Just because there was a judge from Puerto Rico in the judging panel doesn’t mean he/she helper her just because they both are Puerto Rican but it also doesn’t mean the judge didn’t help her. We will never know and people need to move on. This was 4 years ago and it’s embarrassing how y’all can’t seem to move on. We know Catriona is amazing and we know Stephanie did amazing as well. And both come from pageant power houses so they both worked very hard for Miss World. Talking abt favoriting the judge of same country happened in miss universe too . In 1994 Colombian designer purposely gave less score to India compare to Colombia .
But the Goddess Sushmita won that night and gave INDIA it's 1st Miss Universe. She's friend with Charleen Representative from Philippines. We love Sushmita very Beautiful and Intelligent her answer will always be one of the best in whole pageant history.

It wasn't just about MU taking place in Puerto Rico, the main factor was 2 judges who were from Puerto Rico that gives the impression that the result was not fair. Furthermore, it is customary for organizers to invite judges from the countries where the pageant is being held which gives an advantage to the delegates of those countries. The judges themselves would be more inclined to vote patriotically on home soil than if the contest was held somewhere else.

That being said, there are other instances where there were controversial crownings and Miss World is not immune including 1970 where Grenada's Jennifer Hosten was crowned with Grenada PM Sir Eric Garay was part of the judging panel.

Catriona was too rehearsed at Miss World 2016. Its obvious her team pulled out the same Megan Young blueprint for her and it back fired. Filipinos should be more gracious in defeat. There was also a Filipino judge at Miss Universe 2018 when Catriona won, she also flew back to the Philippines on a private jet with the same judge but nobody talks about that as suspicious.

Puerto Rico's answer and the rest of the Top 3 are not good. Only Catriona and Kenya answered their respective questions that's why a lot of people are still scratching their heads with Kenya and Philippines being excluded in the Top 3.

I think Cat deserved to win BUT Megan had just won three years ago, wearing a pinkish/peach gown, sporting the same bun hairstyle. Maybe the judges (especially Miss Julia Morley) thought that Cat is too "Megan-like". In Miss Universe, Cat is still as formidable, but she is herself. Not Megan, but herself.

Stephanie Delvalle of Puerto Rico that year was an amazing candidate and she proved it to everyone that year, she still works very close with MWO, the Filipino fans that year was soo focused on Cat, the attention was almost like she has won already.. They overlooked everyone else. Catriona was great but she came off as too rehearsed to me. I think I saw a more relaxed and fun version of Catriona only when she joined Binipining.
Miss Puerto Rico's final answer was not crown-worthy. There were other candidates who had a better answer than her.
She was not an amazing candidate. She came from nowhere, no body betting for her, totally underwhelming that night, and yet she won. Hahaha! Keep being delusional. That will help you survive Covid.

I just think during the Q&A, bias-aside, maybe it is too eloquent for the judges. A huge number of the judges have English as not their first language. Even if they understand English fluently they may not be able to relate to the figures of speech she had used. That is why I really loved her Miss Universe final answer, because she painted a picture in our mind and she sounds very sincere and relatable.

Based on what I've seen, MW seems to emphasize eloquence and more polite mannerisms, and the gowns are more extravagant and princess-like. Whereas in MU you notice a lot of sexy gowns, more skin showing, fierce walks/poses/looks and heavier makeup. But both still great pageants that do great things for the world.

In my opinion, Catriona was good at Miss Wolrd, but her final answer was too pageanty. At Miss Universe, however, her final answer was more sort of realistic. She got straight to the point what she would specifically do. Also, she appeared to be more confident at Miss Universe. I think Miss World prepared her to delve deeper into herself, and so she did at Miss Universe.

Another reason as a neutral fan : when Catriona grey walked in that evening gown- her hair style and gown reminded us a lot of things we saw in Megan young.. So the judges would have been reminded of Megan young and that could have hindered her crowning.. Even as a non philipino when I saw her I only thought as another Megan.. Could not see her individuality beyond Megan's shadow in final night.. But when she competed in miss universe we could see her individuality.. We were not reminded of pia or anybody in her performance and that could also be the reason she missed miss world

Totally agree.. Catriona during Miss World is a proof that there is no formula to winning. Maybe the Philippines thought that if they replicate Megan Young, then they could have another victory. But wrong. The difference between MW & MU, if you notice, MW winners don’t have a prototype. Every year is a different winner in which you can’t predict. Unlike MU, when pageantologists and pageant fans predict something, the final result almost seemed accurate during finals night.

As much as I loved her so much as our Miss Universe 2018, my heart broke when she did not win Miss World 2016. Honestly, if she was packaged not almost similar to Megan, she could’ve been Philippines’ 2nd Miss World.
But interesting to see, for the last 20 years, only CHINA and INDIA won Miss World twice. The rest from 2000-2020, different countries win Miss World, and MWO doesn’t keep the same countries win every year.
Two more Indians should have won Vanya Mishra and Koyal Rana.Its dissapointing that they were not even selected to be in the top 5 despite having the highest scores after all the preliminaries.I wonder what type of system did they keep in place during the years these two Miss Indias participate.
Siera I like you a lot because you are honest and respectful. Good opinion of yours. I’m from Puerto Rico and I remember watching the pageant that night and when Catriona answered, I was very impressed on how eloquently she answered that question. I have many many years watching pageants and I also coached several girls in the past so I can humbly say that I have the skill to catch when someone is rehearsed and someone who gives a genuine answer. I honestly thought that she was going to win only because she wasn’t 2nd or 1st runner up. I remember saying to a friend “wow this damn pageant that we can’t win it again? Why? Miss Philippines has to win this, hands down. But when Miss Puerto Rico won that night, and with the whole excitment that I had I started to analyze the final q & a and in my opinion Catriona, delivered so perfect that sometimes that kind of perfection pass as a fake/rehearsed answer, something that the Miss World organisation hates. There is a lot of examples when you watch previous Miss World pageants that a contestant that delivers a “presidential speech” never wins and the one with a simple answer that seems to be happy and genuine is the one that eventually ends up winning. So in 2016 that girl was Miss Puerto Rico, not Catriona. Finally, like you said, that was meant to be, because she won Miss Universe! and winning Miss Universe is much more awesome than Miss World. Congratulations to her because she is one of the best pageant contestant in history, and ended up winning the super bowl of beauty.

1. fast track (esp since 2016 when it went back to the original fast track format instead of scoreboard) were meant as automatic passes to the final line up, but other than that they bear no real credit into the final deliberation. Well certainly if one excels in the fast tracks she would leave a good impression to the judges, but it is not everything.
2. MW 2016 did not really have a lot of placements for fast tracks. There were only Top 20 for Talent + Top 24 for Sports + Top 5 for BWAP + Top 5 for Top Model + Only winner for Multimedia. So was Puerto Rico really performing underwhelmingly in the fast tracks? Or was it simply there were too few placements available that year?
I think it’s very unfair to say that something happened behind the scenes because there was ONE Puerto Rican judge. Aside from Julia and other members of the MW organization, there was a Turkish, Indonesian, Russian, Icelandic, and British judge. One judge does not have sole discretion of the winner...

Actually her pageant camp was responsible for that. The dress that she wore in the after party was suppose to be her gown but her mentors changed it and they basically made her megan 2.0 . That is why she was an independent candidate in BP so she could control everything.
Her camp was the one to blame for, that's why after that year she created her own camp where she can be the one deciding for herself.
The problem she had at MW is that she was not natural, she seemed so scripted. Miss PR was spontaneous, which Catriona lacked that. Even her answers were basically a repeat from her national pageant. @ MU she was way more relax and natural.

Good evening Sierra from PHILIPPINES. Actually she deserves so much. On this edition of Miss World, it was the only edition where the points they earned was supposed to reflect on the final results. In the final night, the judging panel comprise of an Indonesian ND, Puerto Rican ND,.. And on her final gown that was not the gown she wanted to wear, she was supposed to wear a Mak Tumang

Puerto Rico was the best on the night! She deserved it! And at the same time this does not mean that the other ladies of the top 5 weren't wonderful competitors as well
And let's not forget two other Miss World 2016 alums that also had success as crossovers after being unplaced in their Miss World 2016 stints in Venezuela's Diana Croce who finished second runner-up in Miss International 2017 and Chile's Antonia Figueroa who finished in the Top 12 in Miss Earth 2018.

Thanks for making this video and speaking about this so openly. Usually when this comes up there are a lot of negative comments and because of that, a real conversation is not really possible, I feel. For me there are three things that always come up when seeing people discuss this topic:
1. For me, there was a lot of negativity surrounding Catriona the year she competed in Miss World. And that had NOTHING to do with her. But the PH fans were so vocal and negative and rude about how she HAD to win or the pageant would be rigged etc. There was so much rudeness and disrespect going on with the fans that to me, that completely overshadowed Catriona. Only when she won Miss Universe, I was able to really see her. I don't know if this was the same for some of the jury members, but I know that if I would have been in the jury, this might have tipped the scale the wrong way for her, just because the fans created such a negative 'vibe' around her.
2. This is very minor, but I didn't like her styling at MW. Especially the bun. She probably was going for a Megan Young vibe, but that just didn't fit her enough to really shine.
3. When you compare her in MW and her in MU, you see the difference in styling and to me she was really embracing her inner strength. In MW she was a girl, in MU she was a powerful woman ❤

I think the reason why Catriona didn't win in Miss World is because of her answer. I thought it was a make or break for her, and obviously it broke her chances. Catriona's final answer was more like philosophical, in that she uses metaphors which is vague and not straight to the point. Compare her answer to Miss Puerto whose final answer was direct and tangible, and therefore relatable. #justmy2cents

As you have mentioned in other videos of yours, the interview and the development of the candidate during the contest is super important, and nobody knows how each candidate did in that area because it is something that we do not have access to. Commenting that Stephanie may have been somewhat advantageous for having a Puerto Rican jury that night, that for me is a fairly limited opinion. Stephanie proved to be the candidate the organization was looking for as, four years after her triumph, she continues to actively work with the Miss World organization and is currently a Beauty with a Purpose Ambassador. Catriona is a person who has the gift of speech and expresses herself very well and although I consider that she is a good candidate, it cannot be denied that her fans have favored her significantly and I consider it unfair that fans minimized the work of the top 3 of the Miss World 2016 for the simple fact that her candidate did not win that year.

Looking through the comments on various videos I am glad I am not the only one to notice the pro-Filipino stance Siera has, understandable given her history with the Philippines. Fish gotta swim and views have to be get.
However I wish she would address the dark side of the Filipino pageant fan base and that is their toxicity. Last year they were so hell bent on getting the back to back they stooped very low to do so. What they said about the other candidates left me utterly dumbfounded all under the guise of "constructive criticism" and "just my opinion".
Surely as a youtuber Mrs. Bearchell has to at least have seen their comments and at the very least should address them from a neutral stance, given she herself was also a victim of their's that she had to delete a video critical of Miss Earth.

Cat was impeccable too during her 2016 Miss World participation. However, we must accept the fact that Puerto Rico’s answer was also intelligent; it was short but sweet and she was so natural. Somehow, the answer of Cat appears to be memorized. Fate brings Cat to win Miss Universe by first failing to make it at Miss World 2016. Her failure has moulded her to become the creative and fierce Catriona that she has become and eventually won the 4th Miss Universe crown for her country.

The Puerto Rican in the pageant wasn’t just a Puerto Rican, She was the National Director of Puerto Rico. Same goes for the Indonesia National Director in the panel who probably had a hand in Miss Indonesia being a runner-up

Just because there was a judge from Puerto Rico in the judging panel doesn’t mean he/she helper her just because they both are Puerto Rican but it also doesn’t mean the judge didn’t help her. We will never know and people need to move on. This was 4 years ago and it’s embarrassing how y’all can’t seem to move on. We know Catriona is amazing and we know Stephanie did amazing as well. And both come from pageant power houses so they both worked very hard for Miss World. And it’s not like Puerto Rico has sucked competing at Miss World and magically a Puerto Rican judge is in the panel and she suddenly wins, no Puerto Rico has done very well in the pageant and has come a couple of times super close to the crown. Saying Puerto Rico didn’t deserve it is a slap to the face to her and her hard work. And truthfully Catriona was obviously sad at the results but she never made any comments against Puerto Rico and her crowning, she just accepted and moved on so why can’t y’all. The point is Miss World 2016 is Puerto Rico because she did better and deserved it. And Catriona was good at Miss World but she did amazing at Miss Universe. Both are loved by their countries and their wins are rightfully theirs and deserved.

Talking abt favoriting the judge of same country happened in miss universe too . In 1994 Colombian designer purposely gave less score to India compare to Colombia .
But the Goddess Sushmita won that night and gave INDIA it's 1st Miss Universe. She's friend with Charleen Representative from Philippines. We love Sushmita very Beautiful and Intelligent her answer will always be one of the best in whole pageant history.

The reason Sushmita won was the brilliance of her answer. It just scream, "behind this lovely face is a brain". After that true essence of womanhood answer, its done. Sush won the crown.
Same thing happened in MU 2001. The contest was held in Puerto Rico, 2 of the judges were from Puerto Rico and guess who won..Puerto Rico.

It wasn't just about MU taking place in Puerto Rico, the main factor was 2 judges who were from Puerto Rico that gives the impression that the result was not fair. Furthermore, it is customary for organizers to invite judges from the countries where the pageant is being held which gives an advantage to the delegates of those countries. The judges themselves would be more inclined to vote patriotically on home soil than if the contest was held somewhere else.

That being said, there are other instances where there were controversial crownings and Miss World is not immune including 1970 where Grenada's Jennifer Hosten was crowned with Grenada PM Sir Eric Garay was part of the judging panel.

The judging panel theory is absolutely ridiculous. There were more than one Filipino judges at Miss Universe 2018. Does that mean Catriona won because of that? No, it’s because she did a great job. ever since in MWP, she really chose red as her winning, same as her suppose gown for MW that was made by Mak Tumang, but since A&Q wants another Megan, she was forced to use the Pink gown. But in MU, she finally wore a red dress, the hairstyle, and how she wanted her performance to be.

Hi.. I think Catriona really did a different transformation.. From her sweet look at Miss World into Fierce Filipina look in the Binibining Pilipinas.. She was certified as the front runner in her era.. And I think of her winning performance in Miss World as she gave her best to win the Miss Universe Philippines and finally won the most prestigious pageant Miss Universe 2018..😊😇😍
Miss Universe is not bigger than Miss World. Miss world is the oldest original pageant, it has more sponsors, more influence with multiple charity organizations , more number of contestants participate in Miss World and Miss World crown is way more expensive that of Miss Universe.
Also, Miss world winners have been much more successful than Miss Universe winners.
Catriona was too rehearsed at Miss World 2016. Its obvious her team pulled out the same Megan Young blueprint for her and it back fired. Filipinos should be more gracious in defeat. There was also a Filipino judge at Miss Universe 2018 when Catriona won, she also flew back to the Philippines on a private jet with the same judge but nobody talks about that as suspicious.

So there was no possibility that for example India, China could win? They'd need a Visa to fly to Manila to do whatever was deemed so URGENT! FYI no other contestant was aware that a flight to the Philippines was a part of the deal post crowning.

I strongly believe so that Catriona could have won Miss World in 2016. It's a classic case of blessing in disguise and good karma. She went on to become Miss Universe 2018 which is the bigger and the best beauty pageant.

She sewed her sentences so beautifully that most were not able to follow through. Puerto Rico's answer and the rest of the Top 3 are not good. Only Catriona and Kenya answered their respective questions that's why a lot of people are still scratching their heads with Kenya and Philippines being excluded in the Top 3.

She said she was happy that their candidate won as first runner-up but she was really expecting Miss Philippines and Miss Kenya to win the top spots. Stephanie aside, what made Miss Indonesia, whose answer barely made sense to win over Catriona and Miss Kenya? She does not even come close to Cat in terms of physical beauty. In the past years before 2016, the candidates' over all score for the preliminaries were shown on the screen in descending order . The top scorers then were the ones to enter as semi- finalists. In 2016, MWO suddenly did away with it. For what reason? One can't help but wonder why MWO did this. Stephanie didn't win any of the preliminary competitions, so what was her over all preliminary score? Just wondering.
