I had the good fortune to actually attend the Targa Florio race in 1973 - the last true race to be held. We did two or three laps of the circuit in our hired Fiat 124 estate car -a wonderful experience! Your comments about the Practice brought it all back. Driving along reasonably sedately (I had two very young children in the back of the Fiat) and meeting animals, donkey and bullock carts, other road users, pedestrians and at the same time being overtaken by race cars was completely new experience, as you can imagine. Probably the most bizarre was the run along the coast road. We were in a stream of traffic, doing about 50 mph with the competitors overtaking us in the race cars going 100 mph faster than the traffic stream! We stopped for a coffee in a little coffee bar in Collesano during one lap, I left the lady wife with the children in the bar and stood in the doorway and watched several competitors screaming down the hill and braking for the hairpin - another bizarre experience. The race was something else - just wonderful. We watched somewhere up in the hills (I can't remember where, as I got us lost on the back roads on the way there and just came upon the circuit eventually and stopped there to watch. The drive back to the hotel was as exciting as the race - everyone doing their best to set a new lap record and having no regard to other drivers -it was one of the few times I have actually been a little scared while driving - great fun though, as you daren't slow down!!! Thanks for the show!
In 1973 people with devices in their hands near their heads would have been listening to small transistor radios. Either football broadcasts or even about the race from a regional radio station.
Yes, very common in football and car racing too. It was the only way to follow 30 or 40 cars on a 72 kms course.Surely some local station. Le Mans was the first racing event to have it's own am station purposedly set up for the race.

27:30 Piccolo circuit is 72km, Medio circuit was 108km, and the Grande circuit was 146km, all within the district of Palermo, which was run more or less by the Florio empire at the time. The full island tour of Sicily was 979km, used in the 1910's and 1940's when the other routes weren't available, usually because of flooding.
In contrast to the Nordschleife, when you drive around this circuit at less than full-on racing speed, it doesn't feel like a waste of time or "baby steps" while learning the lefts and rights. During Christmas holidays a couple of months ago, I took the liberty VR driving likewise cruising of Abulzz' precious work, just in the lovely Bizzarrini 5300 GT. But being in a race event, adding a grid of race cars of the time, i.e. Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/3's, Porsche 904/6's, Ferrari 312PB's, Porsche 718 GTRs, Ferrari 250 GTOs, Bizzarrini 5300 GTs, Abarth Simca 1300's, Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2's, Abarth-Simca 2000GT, Lancia Fulvia (missing Lancia Flavia mod and Lancia Flaminia, anyone?), etc. THEN I parked at this infamous corner, got out of the car (my flexible NLR seat), and just waited, looking around. Hearing the roars and screaming cylinders coming down the mountain at distance, very loud entering the village and then suddenly appearing violently round the corner, just past your eyes and ears ...such an undescribable massive immersion. But too young to real life experience, I was only turned 5yo when they raced Piccolo Circuito for the last time. Wish I was there in the golden years. (at least drove round the slope on my 40th birthday decades later, but not the same) And again Jake : Your content is second to none, once again! 'Thanks' is so a little word. Greets from Denmark
Amazing, stopped myself watching 15 mins in so can savour it like a fine wine, never thought I would enjoy watching a chilled drive in a Ferrari through the Sicilian countryside, makes the parts you open the throttle a wee bit more special.
Kudos to Abulzz and GPLaps... nice overview... was on the track yesterday... Traffic set to 30 Cars with your settings.... after 80 Minutes in the Honda S800 me Arms and me neck gave way... to Major Payne ;-) too much traffic... but stubborn (like a MAN) I tried to finish the lap... then i realized the length of 73 KM and only 55 done... so I gave up and called it a Night.... (1AM in the morning)... such a sublime track, so much fun to drive...
Funny thing. Did the same ride (but without traffic) with the same car at sunday. Always love to come back to Abulzz' Targa Florio. His work is incredible and so highly immersive. I'm so happy to see a big channel like yours is keeping up with his updates all the time and - I would say, present this track - but in your case it is always much, much more. My famous YT-channel ever. I could listen to you the whole day without getting bored a minute. Never "met" someone who can transport the fascination of motorsport or cars in general this vividly. You get this here quiet often, but as always: Big thank you. We're happy to have you.
That was really nice. He's done so well with this. I absolutely share your passion for this event and circuit! Personally I was there last year on my motorcycle, to expecience it myself. I did two complete laps of the circuit, which is possible almost just like in this video. The SP24 was closed just before Scillato due to some roadworks, so you had to divert down a tiny farm-road. The first lap I did as quickly as I dared. That took me 1h19m, even on a motorcycle! The second one I was cruising and stopping for lots of photos. I was actually stopped by the police, but fortunately on the slow lap! Once he heard I was there to experience Targa Florio, he completely forgot about checking papers and sent me on my way with a big smile! 😅 And you're absolutely right, it's not really a tourist attraction per se. I was all alone sniffing around the old pit buildings. The atmosphere there is special - the scent of Castrol R seems to still hang in the air! If you do a race on this version Im' totally in. The only reason I did not participate in the championship last year, was because I was travelling on the bike for half a year 👍
Just downloaded and played with my Samsung Odyssey and HP Reverb G2 headsets. This track looks absolutley beautiful in VR. Can crank the VR graphics to the max with the 4090. One of my favorite tracks to drive as of now.
Been really getting into your channel lately, you really make good use of the long runtimes! While the driving action and scenery is always nice your laid back yet informative commentary ensures that I keep watching to the end! It's like a podcast with driving.
Awesome. I've driven this a few times since your last video here. It has to be on a sunny day in something Italian (or maybe 50s British) as long as it's open top. The only problem is that I start off slow, enjoying the view. Then get into it and start enjoying myself even more. Then the speed increases and I start to feel like Nino. Then I realise I'm not and crash over a mountain side. I still haven't finished a lap on this version 😃.
GPLaps: My favourite ASMR channel ❤ Always good to put some headphones on and listen to your dulcet tones. A wonderful video to let the stress wash over you, as are so many of your videos. Fantastic as always 👌
If that helps, @gplaps, I believe the Bagni around the 28 minute mark is pronounced as something like "banny", or like "bañi" if you're familiar with the ñ is spanish for example. what a gorgeous project, and your comment was so pleasant too! watched it while working and it was a great road trip
In *All But My Life,* Stirling Moss talked about his winning race here. He said on race day the course was littered with crashed cars. I've been driving this course since your first video a year ago, just stunning. My absolute favorite car to drive here is Velo's Lancia Fulvia 1.3S
The spectators IMO are currently immersion breaker, their style of clothes is very 2000s, and some of them are placed weirdly, up in the air, and generally what i found back when working on ams1 tracks, best to place them more in groups, rather than in random places, they always look more logical when there are groups of 4-5 people. I was looking to get some crowd models and render the billboards of them for our vintage tracks, if/when i get to that, i can share renders if Abulzz is up for that. The work is spectacular so far. There were those big releases we've been waiting for, a decade ago - PnG, HistrorX, Enduracers - nowadays modders do car by car (because evrything has got way more complex) and the feeling of waiting/looking forward to/anticipating something big is kinda not here anymore, but with this Targa project this feeling is back.
@@jeremycoffman6585 nice. I saw some 3d scanned vintage-styled people meshes you can buy and make renders of, those packs are quite expensive though. I will most likely get some pack of those anyway.
1973 was the last time the race was held as part of the Sportscar World Championship. The race itself continued until 1977 when a fatal spectator accident ended it once & for all.
Is that Ferrari logo big enough? Thanks for highlighting how far this amazing project has come. Relaxing Italian countryside... in that weather - makes me feel parched just thinking about it! Off for a Campari...
The documentary you were referring to is called "The Speed Merchants". I can recommend it to anyone who loves vintage sportscar racing. The segment about the Targa is great.
26:36 i believe it's pronounced bahn-yee Great video as always. As amazing as the GPL version of the Targa is, it's awesome to see a version purpose built for a modern sim
Nice to have traffic on the Targa Florio. IMO it would be great if the developer could make it so that the more traffic you put on the road, the fewer spectators there are. Since there would be a lot fewer spectators on a practice day.
I have driven the Cerda-Caltavulturo stretch a few years ago and I say the road looks too wide. It also looks too “clean”. Itis quite muddy land. The trees don’t loo that green nor does the land. It is more burnt green, more brown. There is also a full “piccolo lap” by Vic Elford in a road Alfa. That matches my memory well. When I drove it (Fiat 500 XL) there were quite a few land slides and it was partially a bit off road. In Vic’s video he states that the road was bumpy and I also remember that it kinda rolled left and right. Here it looks a bit too flat. Also the air looks too dry, too clear here. It’s quite humid and that cuts the vividness of colors, I guess.
Love going sightseeing with you around this amazing recreating of this massive circuit. Edit: I guess someone gifted me a membership to your channel, so thank you whoever that was!
The 1973 race was the lat year it was part of the World Championship, but it did continue as a conventional circuit race through 1977. Yeah, there are a few spots where it seems like the road has been straightened, though this could well be due to this being a 1973 version, whereas the others are modeling 1967. Certainly, the motorway bridges weren't there back in '67. That is one of those things that does make me lean toward the earlier iteration. The Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale wouldn't be bad, either. The Ferrari is a nice in-between GT though, and very well balanced still. It's definitely more grunt and weight than the GTA, but neither is it the unruly beast that is something like the Bizzarrini or Corvette of the time. They do use sections of the lap for a round of the Italian Rally Championship, or at least they had been for quite a while there. There was the Giro di Sicilia, which sometimes doubled as the Targa, and that was 600+ km. The actualy Madonie Grande was 148 km, with the Medio being 108 km. At least it's not like the Mille Miglia, where they really couldn't close the roads,n ot even for the race itself. Now there's a terrifying thought. Although, people would have known about the race and probably tried to avoid unnecessarily driving on the route. Yeah, ~300 hp and about 2,200 lb in full competition trim. It did win the FIA GT Championship in 1962-64, so it wasn't that outdated, and certainly did the business in its day. A 330 P4 should be a blast around here. Everybody talks about the Porsches, but the 910 only picked up roughly a minute over the 906 from '66. Meanwhile, the 4-liter Ferraris picked up 2 minutes or so of lap time. The 330 P3/4 clocked in the fastest Practice time at a 37:12.2, while the 412 P had the fastest Race lap of a 37:09. It does seem like, with this mod, they initially maybe took away quite a few of the trees and bushes and such before adding things back in. You're thinking of "The Speed Merchants", which was filmed in 1972. I think there was an episode of "Glory Days", or something equivalent, that I saw part of on Speed in like 2003 that covered one year of the Targa somewhere there in 1965-70. I'm reminded of something we have comparatively even quite a bit less about than the Targa, and that's the old Mugello Stradale circuit and the races held there. In the 1903 Paris-Madrid Race, one of the reported hazards was animal attacks. The Chaparral 2F was definitely too much car around here, but you almost have to laugh seeing the photos of it from the 1967 event. It just looks so out of place.
This is absolutely belissimma!! I must admit, as stunning and breath-taking as the scenery was, and how expertly textured it was, it was the Fiat tractors that blew my mind. If there was a Photo Mode for Assetto Corsa, the footage at 1:00:20 was a winner for me.
I just got the current paid version because of this video. It's at version 0.2.02 now and even more filled in. Well worth it. It's pretty awesome already, looking forward to seeing where it's going. I'm mostly familiar with the rFactor version (conversions of the GPL one), and this one feels much more vertical, and the corners much tighter. The sense of being in a place, especially in VR, is totally worth supporting this mod. I, too, had to slow down a few times to just stare at the view.
Brilliant stuff. I really like the TrackIR when doing a casual drive. I'll have to check into that. It's probably cheaper than a 3 triples setup. Thanks for the content.
As usual your videos are the joy of the day, thankyou. I'd like to have staggered starts for the Targa too, you're not the only one. Still guessing how did you do that in your Targa '66 video with GTR2👍
Bagni is roughly pronounced "ba-nyee" in standard Italian. Dunno if Sicilian is any different. It'd be easier to explain if English had consistent phonetic rules like Italian does :P
I drove this this morning 😁Not with traffic yet though. I am a patreon to it. Best track in sim racing. I really like to see a full event online with say qualifying with traffic
If you have problems with TrackIR during racing, you don't use the right settings. My tip: set it up to do 2DOF only, so no roll. You can tweak it to have a deadzone if just moving your head a little, but usually it should be enough to lower sensitivity to minimum and to flatten the curve so you only get subtle rotation if just looking to the apex and progressive rotation if you want to look around. The first years I was running settings so subtle I often didn't notice it was not active until I wanted to look around.
@@raffriff42 Anyway, there are no downsides using TrackIR for racing you can't fix. Performance and consistancy should be the same or better while using it if properly set up. Just a fun-fact: I've recently tried out VR again and even bought a Pimax 8k+ today because VR is still king of immersion, but I'm not as consistent in VR and I struggle with the same setups I've made with TrackIR and felt comfortable because they are too oversteering in VR. I probably get better used to it soon, but there are a lot more downsides to VR.
@@GPLaps I won many online-races with TrackIR and almost never DNF'ed because of my mistakes, so your claim "you loose the feeling of the car" seems quite BS to me. IMO it's rather the opposite because even with my 49" G9 it's not possible to see the exit of many tight corners and hairpins before the apex without headtracking. I prefer using Crew Chief online, but often forgot to activate it because it's only to be aware of dive-bombers in my blind spot and not having to observe them if they come close to me.
Sadly modern F1 fans dont see a connect between Grand Prix and F1, and dont appreciate the history, Love your work ! I have to buy Assetto Corsa just for the eras and MOds ❤❤
Commenting before I watch but my god am I excited about the potential fun to be had with this if the title lives up to the video, which I know it will as its a GPLaps vid!
You mentioned "the British and Italian Cooper." Did you know that the Autobianchi A112 was a license built car based on the mini floor pan, engine and suspension?
If only you could add a bicycle or two or a farmer with a herd of livestock I think the traffic could get pretty accurate haha. Great video man, thanks!
Tied the track today, looks and drives great.. but it is too smooth, no bumps which takes away from realism. hope that gets included in future updates. It takes 3 gig of harddrive space, amazing bit of modding work that looks better than so many already made mods.
The part of u asking abt moving spectators is definitely possible I’ve seen moving spectators on drift tracks that sit there and slap the wall like a fan irl lol or the road road Atlanta mod even has non ai moving cars
One day, I hope someone will actually make the 67 and 92 mi variants of the Targa circuit. If that’s even possible. All the roads that were used for those circuits still exist!
Hey- I would love it if you could share your TrackIR settings or do a video on it. Love that you are starting to include it. Great way to have some of the vr experience using a monitor.
For AC I personally use One:One. Of course you cant look around the car that way, but 99.9% of the time you will be looking forward anyways and that way is the most natural and immersive. For an all round view, you'll probably just want to use Smooth with adjustmens like GPLaps.
The real question I ask myself is : will there ever be another car simulation that will offer the opening allowed by assetto corsa for modding ? Assetto corsa is a beautiful and very pleasant physical model, with incredible graphics today (CSP/SOL/Pure...) and an absolutely huge library of splendid cars and tracks like this. With modern hardware (PC and CG), we were able to transform a 2014 game into a 2023 game that does not have to be ashamed of the comparison with the others. But will we find such an open game in the future? Even at Kunos? I'm not particularly optimistic in this area, even if assetto corsa still has many years of pure pleasure to offer me. In the meantime, I started with a 4770K + 1070Ti and my Oculus CV1, and today I take even greater pleasure on it with my 12700K + DDR5 + 4070Ti, still on my CV1 and while waiting for the HP reverb G2 which will coming soon (within a month). There is no doubt that I will be dazzled by the change with the CV1 that I have had for 5 years and which has already given me so much satisfaction ! And I know that I have many more years of motoring pleasure on this fantastic evolutionary simulation. I still hope that Kunos (or another) will soon offer a new car simulation as open as this one to modding. And that I would have the pleasure of seeing your videos on it too!
Damn I downloaded the update yesterday evening and was so happy to play it today after work! But then I slipped in the morning and split open my big toe on a sharp edge 🤦♂️ That’s what I call shit luck, hopefully it won’t be to long until I can push a pedal down (or even wear a damn shoe…) and drive this wonderful track in it’s newest version! At least I live in Germany so it won’t affect me monetarily. Docs are paid by my my mandatory health insurance and if I couldn’t work I also still get my full money. Have to see the positive thing in a negative situation haha!
I know how you might be feeling. I smashed my big toe by having a 17kg slab of steel fall on it. That was 2 weeks ago and I can only drive trucks and tractors in my sim. Cars make it bleed and hurt. I'm lucky that the damage was mostly internal and a lot better than it could have been. I am just now considering driving cars but without a shoe and wrapped. If it doesn't throb I reckon I'm good to race. And back to Targa. In AU we used to have free health but now the cost is crippling (pun intended) even with health insurance. I'm glad to hear there is somewhere in the world that is forward thinking.
Abulzz said the release version will be free.. Just the alpha is paid, for supporting the development... I still say go support the dude, he builds awesome stuff... IRL a rental car = the fastest car... Racing in VR is awesome Ocean?!.... It's the Mediterranean Sea, but to be fair it is connected to the Atlantic Ocean.. So it's the same water as the ocean... 😂
Very nice introduction lap of this amazing track, thanks for that! Do you have a link for all these classic low-poly traffic cars, like the Abarth, Peugeot, Porsche etc.? I only have the ones from the Shutoko Revival Project (with "traffic" in front of the car name). And are the trains near the end somehow triggered with your arrival in that area? Would be too bad if you made a good lap (for a video e.g. ^^) and no train is there. 😉
Would be cool to even just have some old Ford pickups on the road if you couldn't source a region appropriate one. The Fiat 500 I guess at least is a basic econobox. EDIT: Nevermind, didn't realize the FIATs were all Abarths!
Will have to finish watching this after work, but in the meantime I feel compelled to correct your Italian 😂 The GN in Italian makes a ñ sound so "Bagni" is ban-yi not bag-nee Useful for when you finally make your trip to Sicily! 👍👍🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
Do you use a particular Postprocessing filter or graphics mods? The colors are much livelier and brighter than for me. If I turn the brightness up it looks washed out.
It is not. I also doubt such a project is feasible with current tech, since it would be about 20 times as long as this track. (With the exception of the 1940 variant, wich would be about 50% longer than this track.)
@@zerofox975 you're right. It's a 1000 mile track so I don't think we'll ever see that unless you can do magic with google maps and the game can hold that kind of data size
Good afternoon mate. The inclusion of these cars in "oncoming" to simulate traffic as it happened in the real Traga Florio, is it a mod? If it's a mod, where can we download it? Thank you very much in advance!!!
Awesome! I would actually be more happy with a sim that just focuses on the Targa Florio with a full historic grid than anything else racing related. How do the physics in AC compare with RF2? I thought the physics at low speed was really poor last time I tried AC, which would be not good on the Targa.
Can you advise what detail settings you are running and what GPU you have? I'm interested to know how demanding it is performance wise compared to say Pacific Coast Highway.
Hey Jake (or any other person that likes to answer)how do you set the grip on this track? Do you set it to old or to optimum? I do know your tutorial on track settings, but do you set really every track to old for vintage cars? Open wheelers from the 20s over nice 60s Ferraris to 1000ps prototypes from the 70s and 80s? Also F1 cars that have aero already, do you still use old? I feel old is sometimes unrealistically slippery..

(at least drove round the slope on my 40th birthday decades later, but not the same)
And again Jake : Your content is second to none, once again!
And you're absolutely right, it's not really a tourist attraction per se. I was all alone sniffing around the old pit buildings. The atmosphere there is special - the scent of Castrol R seems to still hang in the air!
If you do a race on this version Im' totally in. The only reason I did not participate in the championship last year, was because I was travelling on the bike for half a year 👍
Hi, I’m from Cerda, beautiful video
This whole thing is a dream come true!
Just downloaded and played with my Samsung Odyssey and HP Reverb G2 headsets. This track looks absolutley beautiful in VR. Can crank the VR graphics to the max with the 4090. One of my favorite tracks to drive as of now.
an all time classic video! Amazingly awesome mod and circuit, the way you wax lyrically about the beauty and experience is just so soothing!
coincidentally when I started driving the P&G version, this comes out. Jake you read my mind good buddy.
This channel is a hidden gem of youtube.
Brilliant as always. Enjoyed the full lap. Keep up the great work 👍
If that helps, @gplaps, I believe the Bagni around the 28 minute mark is pronounced as something like "banny", or like "bañi" if you're familiar with the ñ is spanish for example.
what a gorgeous project, and your comment was so pleasant too! watched it while working and it was a great road trip
In *All But My Life,* Stirling Moss talked about his winning race here. He said on race day the course was littered with crashed cars.
I've been driving this course since your first video a year ago, just stunning. My absolute favorite car to drive here is Velo's Lancia Fulvia 1.3S
I've driven one lap of this before and by the end by arms were hanging off. Ferrari GT3 / Direct Drive! Your video's are always enjoyable. Thanks
That's a very enjoyable presentation/guided tour. Thank you, sir!
My family had a white 504 like the first car Jake passes. We never got as far as Sicily in it.
Abulzz has stated that he plans to replace them with 70s style spectators at some point.
The roads are still there so maybe you could go for a fast drive, considering how isolated some parts are to towns and cities
26:36 i believe it's pronounced bahn-yee
Great video as always.
The highway cutting across that beautiful landscape breaks my heart.
What an amazing video - what an amazing track. Just like a holiday in beautiful Sicily
Brilliant stuff. I really like the TrackIR when doing a casual drive. I'll have to check into that. It's probably cheaper than a 3 triples setup. Thanks for the content.
Awesome!!!! Glad to be a proud Patreon!😉🇨🇦
As usual your videos are the joy of the day, thankyou. I'd like to have staggered starts for the Targa too, you're not the only one. Still guessing how did you do that in your Targa '66 video with GTR2👍
It was a little 'video magic', but I used a staggered grid and manually summed the lap times to simulate the race!
Man that is legit cool. I can only imagine how amazing it feels to experience it in VR. I may just have to give that a shot
HP reverb G2, with the rtx 4090 and a sim racing cockpit makes it AWESOME! Beautiful track!
We are driving this map very often with my brother. We mostly use 911 rsr from GPL mod and 962c short tail.
Best map ever
This is gorgeous!
Nice, getting this now!
Bagni is roughly pronounced "ba-nyee" in standard Italian. Dunno if Sicilian is any different. It'd be easier to explain if English had consistent phonetic rules like Italian does :P
Ya beat me to the punch ;)
Usually I explain it as the ñ from Spanish, words like piñata and such
It's always a good day when GPLaps uploads a new video!🏁🏁
I was going to say I think it has a problem with the deadzone, it was making me dizzy looking around every couple of meters
Good advice, but Jake's been using TrackIR for over ten years.
ruclips.net/video/vy_FABpG0lw/видео.html
@@raffriff42 Anyway, there are no downsides using TrackIR for racing you can't fix. Performance and consistancy should be the same or better while using it if properly set up. Just a fun-fact: I've recently tried out VR again and even bought a Pimax 8k+ today because VR is still king of immersion, but I'm not as consistent in VR and I struggle with the same setups I've made with TrackIR and felt comfortable because they are too oversteering in VR. I probably get better used to it soon, but there are a lot more downsides to VR.
Its just my preference, not trying to say Trackir is bad in any way. I just prefer not to use it for racing
I see Targa Florio on GPLaps and I automatically click, like, then sit back into my happy place for the next hour.
Dude, you should be a bus driver for tourist for the real route. It'd be so chill!
This is why I love this channel.
Sadly modern F1 fans dont see a connect between Grand Prix and F1, and dont appreciate the history, Love your work !
I have to buy Assetto Corsa just for the eras and MOds ❤❤
Amazing !
Bro is just chiiiillin on the hill watch cars go by eatin corndogs
my dream
I wish there was a decent enough race track in Sicily to revive the race for the WEC.
Commenting before I watch but my god am I excited about the potential fun to be had with this if the title lives up to the video, which I know it will as its a GPLaps vid!
Wow... had no idea Abulzz's version's got so many details now. The presentation video on the Patreon page really doesn't do it justice!
Ffs really immersion breaker or what
I'm a simple man. I see Targa Florio vid, I give it a like :)
The part of u asking abt moving spectators is definitely possible I’ve seen moving spectators on drift tracks that sit there and slap the wall like a fan irl lol or the road road Atlanta mod even has non ai moving cars
Get out, how good is this
One day, I hope someone will actually make the 67 and 92 mi variants of the Targa circuit. If that’s even possible. All the roads that were used for those circuits still exist!
Insane
How do you set up the two way traffic? I've been searching all over, and can't find a clear answer.
Did you find out
Awesome track. Hope they put in real 3d trees you can do now, hey it just looks awesome.
Hey- I would love it if you could share your TrackIR settings or do a video on it. Love that you are starting to include it. Great way to have some of the vr experience using a monitor.
Im not using anything to fancy. Just the normal "Smooth" setting with the Y axis made a bit less sensitive.
Trackir is a fairly subjective tool!
And that I would have the pleasure of seeing your videos on it too!
... and I must say that this circuit is just sublime, it will obviously be part of my collection of historical tracks!
AC2
Coming 2024
Ac2 will not be as open as ac1 I've heard.....
Damn I downloaded the update yesterday evening and was so happy to play it today after work!
But then I slipped in the morning and split open my big toe on a sharp edge 🤦♂️
That’s what I call shit luck, hopefully it won’t be to long until I can push a pedal down (or even wear a damn shoe…) and drive this wonderful track in it’s newest version!
I'm glad to hear there is somewhere in the world that is forward thinking.
peak power is at 7500 RPM, shift at the 8k redline! Lets hear the motor sing!
Abulzz said the release version will be free.. Just the alpha is paid, for supporting the development... I still say go support the dude, he builds awesome stuff...
IRL a rental car = the fastest car...
Racing in VR is awesome
Ocean?!....
I thought about adding that ford pickup but thought it might look out of place!
RedBull x2010 around the targa florio?
Will have to finish watching this after work, but in the meantime I feel compelled to correct your Italian 😂
The GN in Italian makes a ñ sound so "Bagni" is ban-yi not bag-nee
Useful for when you finally make your trip to Sicily! 👍👍🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
One thing is for sure, I'm definitely not italian ! :D
1973 ? Is there a Leyland P76 mod for Assetto Corsa?
Now the other interesting question: would it be possible to shortcut the track using the A19 Highway? 😅
Do you use a particular Postprocessing filter or graphics mods? The colors are much livelier and brighter than for me. If I turn the brightness up it looks washed out.
I hope he adds 3d trees and stuff!
Hoping for modern version with proper road marking. Because driving on this track with modern cars feels so Anachronistic lol
does the update apply to gtr2?
Is there a way to set up staggered starts in AC? I want to run the (Sim Traxx) Targa Florio as a race with staggered starting AI.
One thing to do now is 3D trees, or at least more realistic ones. Would make this place indistinguishable from reality.
That was entertaining to witness. I wonder if Mille Miglia is available in Assetto Corsa?
Thank you very much in advance!!!
is 2real traffic availible for this?
Awesome! I would actually be more happy with a sim that just focuses on the Targa Florio with a full historic grid than anything else racing related. How do the physics in AC compare with RF2? I thought the physics at low speed was really poor last time I tried AC, which would be not good on the Targa.
I still really like RF2's physics, but AC's don't feel bad to me with a good car!
Fiat made Tanks and Fighter planes during the War too.
Can you advise what detail settings you are running and what GPU you have? I'm interested to know how demanding it is performance wise compared to say Pacific Coast Highway.
Sorry if I missed it in the video, but what traffic settings did you use for this? The spacing is perfect :)
I included details in the description of the video
Salut à tous , comment fait on pour avoir le 2 ways offline ou online ?
Hey Jake (or any other person that likes to answer)how do you set the grip on this track?
Do you set it to old or to optimum?
I do know your tutorial on track settings, but do you set really every track to old for vintage cars?
Open wheelers from the 20s over nice 60s Ferraris to 1000ps prototypes from the 70s and 80s?
Also F1 cars that have aero already, do you still use old?
I feel old is sometimes unrealistically slippery..
In this video I ran on the "Dusty" setting
I figure thats appropriate for a road like this!
Pls do a flat out lap on this track with a porsche 911 carrera rsr 😎
Bagni is pronounced Ban-yee (more or less). Gn is like a ‘nyuh’ noise. Same as gnocchi.
The race is happening again this year with gt cars.
Do you have any more info on it? I searched around but couldn't find anything
@@GPLaps im trying to find the article i read / found, im 99% sure they are running it again unless its been cancelled or the such.
