I feel like this is a good sign, that werewolves is a better pack than vampires. I feel like for so long, vampires has been the standard for a game pack and for occults, and it’s one of the earliest ones, so was kind of a shame that nothing lived up to it. I’m so glad that we have werewolves, because each pack SHOULD be better than the last one.
Anyway/also when is the Dine Out and Outdoor Retreat refresh coming EA??

Agree! I've said for years that Vampires is the best Game Pack, you actually get a ton of gameplay and some really good cas and build items. I don't know what went wrong after.
@André Coelho no I totally agree bc mermaids were done so dirty. Like they don’t even have a little world of their own like how aliens have sixam. Would love an island living refresh, because it’s one of the expansions that doesn’t feel fully fleshed out, but I doubt ea is going to touch it.
Yk what also desperately needs a refresh? Get famous. I got that pack a while ago and I feel kinda done dirty. It’s really not worth the price and the world is tiny - not much content, especially compared to more recent packs.
I was initally in love with the idea of mermaids. They all looked so pretty but seeing how fleshed out the other occult sims are, I'm hoping if ever they did a pack refresh for Island Living, they'd give the mermaids an Atlantis-like secret world or something similar.
and maybe even packs of mermaids. that would be so cool.

I think my biggest issue is that the werewolves look too much like humanoid dogs. I personally would have preferred a more monstrous look. Customization is cool, though.

Same here, but it’s obvious they didn’t want to change the body so that they’re compatible with everything. But man, if effort was put in to change it, would be so cool.

The second this pack was announced I started planning out a humble little Werewolf married to a Vampire living in Henford-on-Bagley and struggling to raise their adopted spell caster child family

I was so excited for the pack I made a korean-scottish family with most of the different age groups so I could see the different interactions and gameplay for the new pack.

I hope that now this pack exists, EA will do a revision of Vampires like they did with Spa Day. (and eventually revise mermaids and aliens too!) But I feel like compared to modern day game packs, the vampire pack is TINY. The furniture the pack has is amazing, but it's far less than a lot of newer game packs come with. Same with clothes. I'd also love to see that suspicious boarded up bat cave be turned into something, like a hidden world, or some secret vampire coven or something like that. Just add more lore to vampires. Like others have said tho, it IS a good sign that werewolves is so much better than vampires. Shows that the sims4 actually wanted to improve, which is great.

I do wish they would go back a revamp some of the occults like aliens and mermaids, like playing with aliens now to me it's more about messing with the genetics of aliens and breeding wise, mermaids was never that fun and there could have a been a definite use of a skill tree and more options about what mermaids could do, because it just seems like all they really can do is mess with other sims' emotions, now I'm just ranting, sorry for the rant.
It would be cool to have vampire covens w/ opposite dynamics similar to the werewolf packs, with one being good vampires that only drink plasma fruit/packs and the other having no problem breaking in to sims’ houses and drinking their blood

It would be cool if they added covens for the spellcasters and packs for vamps. Also the vampire world does need help. They should Amp it up like the spa pack. More gameplay would get me more interested in the vampire occult

I think they realized how much the players loved so much the lore in Cottage Living and decided to build on that. The storyline, backstory, lore, everything. That is something that we love!
I was SO disappointed with the mermaids when I bought Island Living. I love mermaids and they were such a nothing occult in this game, even though they FELT like they should have a skill tree. I personally think they rushed the Sulani pack, like Mua Pel’am feels half-finished compared to the other 2 islands and also why is there no wall art for that pack? Not a single poster or painting? But werewolves and vampires get so many and even spellcasters had enough. It really feels like they put all their effort into the beach and swimming and then rushed out the rest of the pack to hit their release window.

I guess about the wall art thing, there are so many different windows for Sulani that you may as well not have any wall art and just have a house full of windows xD That's how a lot of builders ended up using it anyway. But yeah some more beach themed paintings would have been perfect for that pack.

On the body scars, I think it also could open the door for things like stretch marks and c section scars! It would also be cool if those were auto/randomly added to sims once they experience pregnancy and after they give birth.
yes! or like if your sims go through weight gain/loss stretch marks could also appear.

I really want them to update mermaids like how they updated spa day and stuff. mermaids deserve so much more. Like a secret world only mermaids can access like they have for spellcasters would be so incredible
My pack refresh wishlist:
1) Dine out (for obvious reasons)
2) Island Living (mermaids need more to them)
3) My first pet stuff (needs more build/buy. More small animals)
4) Vampires (Add more to the world)

Hey Kayla try the “Stand still mod” it allows your sims not just occults to stand completely still and straight in CAS…you should try it ❗️

@@hatooniewoomy casclockspeed [0-10] is the ingame cheat 0 makes the sim stay still while 10 makes the sims animations go extremely fast then 1 is default
Yes, and if you ever forget the in game cheat, you can always pull up the cheat bar in CAS and type help and then it gives you a little list of some helpful cheats and the clock speed is listed on it.
So, I hear a lot of negatives about the old packs. Which is fine, however, this just means that the sims team is not only improving but LISTENING to simmers. Those packs are old, swings in the dark. Vampires was the first of its kind, it had the skill tree. Building block one. Then spellcaster which, other than the crazy houses and bad buildings, had the magic realm to explore. And now werewolves, which pulled in the storyplay from cottage living, one of the best expansions we've gotten in my opinion, as well as all the next blocks from the other occult. I was so nervous after Wedding Stories. That felt like a massive step down for Sims 4 in general. But I'm hoping for the best for Werewolves, I can't wait.

Honestly, my favourite part of the pack isn't even the wolf's. It's the world. It gives me such a life is strange vibe (especially before the storm when chloe goes to the lumber mill to party) I'm so excited to get this pack one day!!

ahhh im so excited. i have a household in my game called "Peculiar Orphanage" run by a strict older human woman named P. Sigrid Peculiar who cannot have any children of her own, so takes in orphaned occult children: vampires, spellcasters, aliens, and mermaids. Two of the teens (vampire & alien) just aged up to young adults, so now I'll have room for a werewolf kid!
Sounds like a really fun household to play!!
Is this based on the film Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children cus it sounds very similar and i love that film

Another piece of mermaids I would love to see updated is the tails. There are so few tail options but imagine if we could paint them completely.

agree with all this comments, colour wheels for tails, different tails shape, good and bad mermaid (2 gangs with different goals for sulani island) underwater lots or other secret lots for mermaids, actually houseboat sounds cool u can move around with it, or maybe huge turtle house, and personally I think they should make it harder for humans to become a mermaid... cuz its so freaking easy 🥲
As someone who has stretch marks it would be cool to see different stretch mark swatches added in the body scar category :)

@@notscarlet8321 im not op but I originally got it with cats and dogs and they were my first 2 packs because I had no idea how the game worked or the differences between other packs and I was 12 😭 I don't have that many regrets (I'm pretty sure it was also on sale at that point at least) but still rip
My mom (who is also an avid Simmer, but not really in the online community) knows how much I love occult Sims, and saw how excited I was for werewolves, so she preordered the pack for me as a birthday present (though I wouldn't actually be able to play it on my birthday which was the 9th). At first I was really excited about it, but then I remembered how broken My Wedding Stories was and got super nervous because I didn't want my mom to have wasted her money on a broken pack or to have kinda my one birthday present be disappointing. But after the guru's Livestream and the early access reviews I'm seeing, my excitement is back and I can't wait for tomorrow!

I remember voting for a werewolf pack and being so disappointed when i saw they chose to do Star Wars instead- now my only gripe is the way the werewolves look (i personally like them looking more scary) however i’m sure there’s people who are happy with how they turned out. Either way, i’m totally going to get this pack, just gotta get the Sims 4 on my new computer lol.
If we can customize them properly, maybe we can make them scarier?
You can manage to make them scary with dedication in the customization part
I do like the style 😄 it feels in line with their general "cartoony" approach and makes the wolf resemblance unmistakable

After being able to select your hemisphere in Animal Crossing, I find it interesting the mismatched moon phases on build items and the calendar. It would have been neat if half of the worlds became Southern Hemisphere so you could have opposite seasons in game play. Full and new moons would still be synced just waxing and waning would be reversed.
Replay value of this pack is insane. Lore galore! There are collectibles that have lore associated with them. The fact that you can reread the books for new nuggets of information is so cool. And apparently the baby wolf sims will howl when they cry??? Saw a clip on twitter and it was so adorable. I will have to test it myself. Overall best occult pack, and one the better game packs in general.
When the person who doesn’t even really enjoy occults that much recommends the pack that makes me really excited. I adore occults and have wanted werewolves forever. (: I can’t wait to play tomorrow!

I don't think she gets paid on commission but she does get kickbacks she's made it very clear the last couple videos that she has a Creator code that goes into EA when you purchase the game where she makes x amount of said sale she is also made it well known in this video and many others that she has Early Access that's considered a kick back made it known in many other videos that she gets Sims content for free they send her content completely for free codes I still love her content she's still usually pretty honest but she does need to be more upfront about the fact that she does get a lot of kickbacks from EA she can't really claim that she's not being paid anymore

I like occult parts of Sims, because they change the game for me from just a random life to fantasy. Werewolves has been something I enjoyed the most, and since they start to look more like wolves and not some harry angry sims it's a plus for me. So, yeah, I'll get it.

I feel like the other occults could do with a refresh after this pack to build on the lore about them that was included but also just to improve the worlds like they should get simmers in to redo the lots at least
i was really on the fence about this pack, but it definitely seems like the sims team put a lot of love and time into it. i love vampires personally, but this feels like a huge step up from them in quality and replayability. very impressed!
This is why I mainly like these type of packs they actually add so much gameplay to the game that’s worth replaying
I’m legit not even buying this because of this misery of 5 world lots again that feel perpetually unpopulated and lacklustre. They are completely doing this on purpose and they need to be called out until they fix it. There is enough space in the world as it is for more lots. Sims mobile is bigger for literally 0 money.
Same I hope they continue to do this for future game packs and expansion packs!
I’m so excited- I’ll probably would’ve bought it even without any gamechanger reviews because of what I’ve seen from the developers so far. AND this pack is just to my taste aesthetic wise, I wasn’t even very into werewolves until I saw the complete vibe of the pack lmao.
The Build/Buy and CAS alone, make it worth it imo!! It looks so good, plus the fact that the storyline will be expanding on vampires and spellcasters lore as well, just makes is great. I was already planning on buying all 3 occults once werewolves is launched (I just switched to PC, after only having base game and island living on Xbox for the last 2.5 years), so I’m very excited to know that there will be deeper backstory for all of them

I love vampires and always will. The CAS and Furniture and just everything about it was so appealing to me. I do hope they go back to it and add more because I genuinely believe its one of the best.
Fun fact: Surname “Volkov” literally means “wolf” in Russian. Love this detail.
and Kurt means Wolf in Turkish, it was also the name of the sim they played in livestream :)

I was holding off from getting this pack, even though werewolves are one of my favourite occults, if not my absolute favourite. The werewolves looked very off to me but knowing that we have a lot of customisation I can make them appear scarier! :D
I have one werewolf sim causing chaos, and one trying to be peaceful.
The 2 I made are:
Rohan. He is literally just the embodiment of chaos, he randomly attacks other sims. I even got him to attack the Grim Reaper. He attacked Lilith twice, and the injured moodlet caused a vending machine to kill her. Lilith now continues to live in Wolfsbane Manor as a ghost containing a soda can.
Celia. She’s peaceful. Instead of all of her perks made to annoy everyone, she has the practical perks like immortality, hunting, and even diplomacy with Caleb Vatore! Yup, my first werewolf to gain sympathy did so with a vampire!
Also, after Rohan beat everyone up, my Spellcaster sim retaliated with Inferniate, lol.
Also, just today I was able to get Rohan and Celia to like each other on a higher level than friendship, so I’ll have to see where that goes, too.
I know the vampires pack might not be the best when compared to this but I honestly kinda want to buy it along with the werewolf pack just so that I can make a vampire werewolf enemies to lovers.
I'm really excited to see if there is going to be any interactions between vampires and werewolves, I know she said something about Greg and vampires im still excited to find out

vampires has a lot of build items that i love! and if you want a goth sim it also has the perfect CAS. so it’s still worth it in my opinion

I really wanna see that painting feature for humans too, custom freckles and moles and body paint would be so nice.

I love that you included the replayability of packs. Personally I often move my sims into Stranger Ville just because I think its such a beautiful world
I really really want the sims team to refresh vampires. I loveeee the idea of vampires much more than werewolves but it's so obvious how little there really is in the vampires pack when you compare it to this new one. And because the main issue is that its OLD, maybe a refresh will do it justice 🤞

Ok but we should talk about the furniture- I absolutely LOVE the broken down (but most importantly, lived in) look, from the book under the table to patched up blankets I think I would personally use the items in this pack for rags to riches or similar challenges ALOT

They have such a compact head, making them so incredible catlike…
Canines have elongated skulls…they were just too lazy to adjust the eating animations, so they would fit the wolves.

I get they tried to make the werewolves more like wolfmen, but I personally love the more wolf like werewolves
You can always change that in CAS, I bet with the paint tool you could create some creepier werewolves. I think it’s better we have that choice, because not everyone wants a scary wolf.

I'm freaking ECSTATIC about this pack coming out! I like Occult sims (even though I don't have all the Occult sim packs) and I think they are fun breaths of fresh air against the "normality" of normal Sims.
yeah!! while I enjoy a normal family I can't go a few days without throwing in an occult sim.
I'd love to see them do a vampire refresh while they are working on all this occult lore, and honestly all of the occults could use a refresh to match this

I think a cosmetology expansion pack would be so cool! Like so much gameplay, build mode, and cas objects would have to come with it! They could put a playable career as a cosmetologist (hairdresser, makeup artist, aesthetician, nail tech, etc.). They could also make a cosmetology school and complete a certain amount of hours. I think the school should be as long as it would take to get through a university year or semester or whatever. The point is that would be so cool and so fun! Maybe they could even make a new world with salons and the school and a sim version of cosmoprof and Sally’s beauty stores!
What Kayla said about StrangerVille is SO true. I played through the whole story 1 time after I bought the pack and I have never done it again. I have tried to have some other sims live on lots in the town but I always moved them or just stopped playing because the crazy sims got really annoying. I wanna live there without having freaky sims walking around my front yard and randomly having it happen to my sims when I am trying to play a storyline.
You can put Strangerville into a "normal" mode like when you won against the motherplant with a mod. Not sure if it's UI Extension Cheat or MCCC as I use both but I always do that, when I use Strangerville.
I watched so many other people's playthroughs of the strangerville pack that, when I got it, I never actually bothered playing through it myself. But I do really like that world and still use the world fairly often.
So, with the tunnels, I would LOVE IT if you could get into the cave systems in Oasis Springs and that shortcut spot in Windenburg.
I wish I had more time for playing Sims, I need werewolves in my life 😭

I'm really excited for the Werewolves pack! As someone who was born with the condition hydrocephalus (water on the brain) and has had many surgeries because of that condition, so I have a lot of scars on my body. Most of those scars are actually on my chest and stomach, so I absolutely love that they're adding a body scar feature to the create-a-sim mode! 😀

As a fan of Vampire: The Masquerade from way back, I could see getting ALOT of use out of this pack just for the build items. Could easily use them for Brujah and Gangrel clan builds, or Sabbat or Anarchs for that matter!
I know this comment is old but just wanted to say "yes!!!" to this. V:TM-B is one of my favourite games of all time. I always always always play as Nosferatu clan and I was so disappointed that I couldn't really replicate something similar with TS4 Vampires. You can definately make them look gross, but not sewer rat gross. Not "this vampire can't be seen on the street" gross. Plus the CAS is all very Ventrue-ish vibes. I just wish that pack was more diverse, and that it actually had lore of some kind. I don't play vamps in TS4, I always play Spellcasters seems they can cause the most chaos.
I honestly thought that this pack was gonna be something like omegaverse, but it isn’t and I’m very happy about the entire pack. The idea of learning different sim’s backstories and getting to know Greg seems so fun. I don’t think I’ve wanted a pack this bad since Cats & Dogs.
She is a great sales woman I don’t have the money to buy this pack but now I really want it 10 out of 10 salesmanship

Funny how you tell the sims to stop when they howl. Hence why after I made my first werewolf I got a mod that keeps the sims from moving, growling and making pointless sounds that does not add anything in cas. Like why did EA even want the Sims to move in Cas? To piss the players off? In Cas you want to them to remain still not making pointless sounds or moving around for literally no reason.
my favorite part of this video isn't even about the werewolves, something about kayla suggesting top surgery scars really made me happy
i like that you mentioned the difference between werewolves and different occults. i think recently there hasn't been consistency with what's in the packs that are coming out and it's getting hard to know what to expect? which is both good and bad because it seems like the team is seriously taking what the community wants into consideration but then we look at past packs and are like ????? hopefully we get a pack refresh though for the other occults! and other packs lol.

Whole heartedly agree!! I wish they would revise the mermaid pack and add more tail customization like how cats and dogs and now werewolves are! They could add so many more funny things with mermaids like singing in the shower or death by singing, in storms maybe they could be flopping about!! They even could add underwater lots with a bit of a kingdom and lore

lol I want to buy this pack definitely. It seems so awesome. I've always enjoyed like werewolves and shifters kind of fantasy world so definitely want to make like Twilght wolf pack and Originals and Teenwolf characters and have them all live in my sims save. I feel like I'm not going to really remember to get thru the whole skills tree aspect there's just so much to it. but i definitely will move this one up higher on my "next to buy" list based on you and Kelsey's feedback. I hope the sims team continues to incorporate storylines and personality to towny sims, like they did in cottage living, it makes the world so much more personable
I feel like, once/if Fairies get a pack, Kayla will tell us how she overpraised the Werewolfs and I hope so. If Werewolfs are awesome then Fairies will be divine

Werewolves, spell casters and vampires are so well made. They absolutely should refresh and update aliens and mermaids bcs they are basically just normal sims that looks different

open up cheat bar and type casclockspeed 0

I'm definitely into it. I was a big fan of Teen Wolf when that show was running and I have some Teen Wolf Sims I play with occasionally. Now that they can transform into werewolves, that's going to make their gameplay so much better!
I'm a big fan of occult sims and can't wait to get it! Mermaids really got the short end of the stick but I feel like this is because they were only part of the expansion so they don't have a full game pack dedicated to them. This is sadly a big miss opportunity because they really could have lean into the Island spirits by making their legends be more entangled and maybe even a feud between the two. (Since the traits seem to be one of land and one of sea.)
I think the build items in the werewolves pack would combine so well with strangerville stuff
So excited! I’ve been playing Sims since 2000 (yes, like Plumbella 😂) and I LOVED Sims 3 Supernatural. I love occult sims. I would regularly make households with one of each occult and had so much fun. My least favourite occult - werewolves. As you said, they were essentially just angry, hairy human sims. They were the only ones I didn’t care about. Although I was excited for more occults in Sims 4 when this was first teased, I wasn’t sure if I would have the same feeling as I did with them in S3. I’M SO EXCITED! I love that they actually look like wolves. And all of the detail, lore, and gameplay!! I can’t wait for tomorrow! Also weirdly hoping that they integrate it with the Cottage Living pack as it would be interesting to have to deal with your werewolf sim trying to attack their own chickens when fully turned. 😂🐥🌕

I do like occult sims, but as you said I found them to not have enough with the pack to keep my interest. This pack looks so fun to me, and I really really hope that it means in the future they will add more of the lore and background interesting things to the current occult sims so I can go back and replay/enjoy the other occult sims
along the lines of future body scars, i hope they also add c-section scars. it would be a really small detail that i think a lot of people would love

I just want to say thanks for always being such a great ally to the trans community, it’s so refreshing how you incorporate us casually not only into your sims games but also in what you want for the sims, without trying to be a martyr. Top surgery scars would be awesome in the sims and i hope we get them soon!!

Ok, you've convinced me. I mainly play with occults, especially spellcasters. I was just afraid that this pack would suck. I kept finding myself looking for another occult to include in my big families of mainly spellcasters, but mermaids just didn't seem to fit properly. Now I'll be able to add werewolves instead.
the cas and build buy is almost my single reason for buying this.
I like occults fine, but I don't tend to play with them after awhile. The items with this pack tho fit so well in my build style, it's unreal
The fact that we can customize ANIMALS and WEREWOLVES but not sims is astonishing.
I want to customize my Sims fully, I want to give them original tattoos, freckles, scars etc.
I don't need to paint my dog blue or paint a heart on my freaking werewolf, it's 100% useless.
Give us real and useful customisation
The fact the sims team can act like it’s humanly impossible to make a color wheel for hair colors blows my mind
Oh gosh, imagine if The Sims 5 lets you draw on humans and everyone tries to accurately recreate characters like with the Miitopia Switch port.
Considering the fact that we have these features we could have them one day for sims I have hope so since the game still has years of content

I really hope that EA does an update to Aliens and mermaids one day. They have so much potential to be great occult sims but a severely lacking, especially without skill trees. Now that they’ve had some practice making occults I think it’s to to refresh aliens and mermaids.

Me too! I’m legit hoping and praying that fairies will be just as good as werewolves looks ! Mermaids and aliens need a tree for sure! And if mermaids got an update with underwater lots and if they created fairies with a flying abilities or a new slider to make your sims larger or shorter that would be epic

Kayla just throwing in how she'd like to see top surgery scars in the sims 4... Honestly Kayla is the blueprint of an amazing ally to the lgbtq+ community. To ALL of it. I love her so much.
Scars of all kinds would be fun. Kinda weird to admit but its fun to play with drama, so a sim who has cutting scars, an amputation, or top surgery just lends itself to more interesting story play.

As someone with scarring from surgery, I'm not sure why anyone would want to see reminders of it given how painful the tissue is even decades later. It's all well in good to be inclusive, but scars can be extremely painful even after healing and I've never met anyone who enjoys reminders that they have them because of that attached negativity of needing surgery in the first place.
@@LantanaLiz A lot of trans people actually like their scars and are proud of them. Experiences are different for everyone, and you don't speak for all people with scars. Scars being in the game don't mean you would have to use them, but they would give trans people a way to feel more accurately represented.
@@aimee8315 I'm sure they'll like them a lot less when they realise the pain doesn't fade after 18 months and the chronic swelling from lymph node removal remains a problem. Fact is people throwing it out there as if there's no detriment with masses of scar tissue or the lymph node removal comes off as being extremely ignorant and insensitive. Also don't forget that the main people having mastectomies are women with breast cancer who will never be the same again because of their illness. This isn't purely connected to trans people.
I have no problem with in depth scar packs being added to the game (release the MMA expac with extensive scarring/injuries for all I care), but this motivation as the reasoning behind them is grotesque at best. Have the sets, leave the reasoning at the door.
You and Plumbella's reviews so far have made me feel a little easier about this pack. I really, really want this pack, but I'm so afraid that EA will release it broken. It doesn't need to be perfect, it just needs to be fun and good. I'm hoping that's what it will be. I love the vampires and I want werewolves in my worlds.
