Tommy is actually in a happy long term relationship, so he does have someone special to sing this song to. His girlfriend even helps him record his videos sometimes. He is an incredible musician and I agree, his voice is perfect for emotional songs like this one, but also very powerful. Every time I think he can't outdo himself more, he proves me wrong
I’ve made the same reflection as you.. before I came across Tommy I was very focused on vocals and singers .. that’s where it was for me … but to my confusion I find myself describing Tommy as a musician and not “only” a singer ( in some way or form he is determined to channel the music he loves .. it’s seems to flow in and around him .. if vocal or guitar or something else .. doesn’t matter it just needs to be communicated). For the first time in my live I’ve understood what it means to make a guitar sing .. to actually be able to see Tommy play in his videos is just amazing .. and as you said .. it is mesmerizing ☀️

Beautiful song (but I'm beginning to wonder if I'm the only one who understands the lyrics in the way to mean that the protagonist has fallen in love with a woman of whom he doesn't even know the name and only has a picture (a rememberance in his head and heart?), who is therefore "only one woman" to him because he knows nothing else about her and doesn't know how to find her ("nobody in this place can tell me her name" - as the lyrics say). I do think it's a lovesong - but more about unrequited love in my understanding)., 🤔 But it can probably be interpreted in different ways. 🤷🏼♀️ Anyway: Tommy sings and plays it really great and touching. 💖
Tommy has a rainbow strap on the guitarr, he is both more masculine and feminine than most women or men. But he do have a girlfriend (or perhaps fiance). So that is it.
Tommy always makes me feel happy, not matter what he sings. I think it's because he seems like such a joyous individual himself.
