Kylie is by far my favorite Kelce. As someone who dropped out of sports at 14 I love that she is doing this. She is who she is and she and I love that about her.
I was a swimmer with wide shoulders and a little pot belly. I became so insecure in a swimsuit that I stopped competing. I wish I could go back to tell that little girl she was amazing and to keep at it.

I totally agree… when I was a teen, I LOVED to run… however I was nice and slender and had the audacity to develop way faster than my peers… I ended up quitting any kind of sport because I was hyper aware of my body. My mom did not do well in talking to me… when I asked for a bra at 12 years of age, she told me I was just trying to fit in. All I wanted was for there not to be such noticeable movement. So with no support, I became very self conscious and wore a flannel shirt even in over 100° weather.

Similar issue with playing soccer and shaving my legs, and yes, I did want to fit in, but I also didn't want to be made fun of! Kids can be cruel, and young girls need more confidence to handle it.
Same with me amd basketball and shaving legs. It was always an issue.

@@shazstar13 did you hear of a little trial in Michigan with a “Trusted” doctor who sexually abused girls in gymnastics? Those girls trusted him and thank god he’s now in prison for life. Why what did I say wrong ?

What about the coaches who discriminate against these girls. My daughter was. Didn’t matter she was one of the top players she was benched her senior year.
Check out if your daughter’s sport is covered by SafeSport. It’s an organization that governs most sports for children and some adults. In order for me to coach in my sport I have to take training and pass tests on many sensitive subjects all to keep children in sport safe. Perhaps there is good way to discover why she was benched. Maybe discrimination? I really don’t know but there can be repercussions if something was amiss. I don’t know but it might not hurt to go to SafeSport and research.

Girls should be encouraged and supported if they want to play sports. And boys should be told that not playing sports is ok and shouldn’t affect their self esteem and confidence either. We need to stop putting gender expectations on all children.

Sadly, not all women find success in life after sports. I know two that unalived themselves in their 20s after realizing that this capitalist hellscape system isn't going to necessarily be easy for them, and another who became a cloistered nun because of how difficult life was for her even going through college.
