Watching you setup camp, cook, talk randomness, is why we are all subscribed! It doesn't matter where you are, once the darkness arrives it makes no difference, you could be in your back garden for all I care. Just keep being you! Much love and respect

Good idea to get out and about a bit further afield - more remote areas are a good idea - it keeps the nuisances and idiots away - there's nothing worse than having to break camp because idiots are short on things to occupy themselves with- look forward to seeing your travels in the near future .

SOMEONE has The Spring Fever!😉 I watched all your videos for the last year: you did some pretty extreme hikes and showed us a variety of places. I DO like the idea of two-day adventures. I also LIKE the idea of some car camps: you deserve a comfortable chair and a camp table!😇 Come to that, a good cot to rest your back wouldn't be out of place.

You are looking for something Dan but have not found it yet.
Someone who has is Claire Beare (Wildbeare), as a human being she is on a different level than the UK male campers, not something you can replicate. You have confirmed what I assumed Winter camping is like, glad I did not bother.
The usual video formula is becoming tedious …. walk-in,pitch tent, close-up of lighting stove, eat steak/asparagus/curry, drink beer,go to sleep, say how cold the night was,breakfast,pack-up tent and walk out .
    Why bother ? 😀
    Just relax.

Hey Dan, we watch your channel because we like the person YOU are 😊 If you do come to Scotland, I could suggest the Scottish Borders as an easy area to start rather than going on an epic 100s of miles to the Highlands journey. e.g. I'm in a village on the A68 - a straightforward journey from Newcastle - Scotch Corner - Edinburgh. There's lots of good camping spots in my general area. Not telling you what to do, it's just a suggestion and I will look forward to watching regardless of where you decide to go 😊

If you feel the need to move up a gear, a mix of wild , or unknown remote small dark sites would be interesting. I try to use the dark or undeveloped sites as much as possible, but sometimes it's difficult to find a gem of a decent farmers field with basic facilities. In the end don't do stuff just for your channel, chasing numbers, do it for you 😊

I get where you are Dan. The viewers are saying "camp, we watch whatever" Yes but it's down to You Dan. If I was a swimmer, well it wouldn't take too long before I'd be bored doing the same old same old. Same swimming pool. So the next step would be wild swimming. You've got the idea's. You've obviously thought this out, and Scotland is waiting for you. I suggested The West Highland Way a couple of months back. 96 miles from Milngavie (pronounced Mullguy) to Fort William and an average of one week. That's slow I'd imagine. Five days if you batter through. Pass through Glencoe. Scenery is to die for, pass right through Loch Lomond. Can't recommend this route enough. No I've not done the full route, but I've been all over some parts of it, infact quite alot now I think about it. Try and buy yourself the 7 days Dan, and do it. I'd love to see you do a long video on you completing it. It's for everyone, not the fitness fanatics. The normal bod like "us" could do it no bother. I've just never done start to finish, but know for a fact I could. We all could, it's why it's there. Now I'm hoping for you doing it! Cheers Dan. Plus I'll always watch what you do. I like your channel alot, so you do what you think best. I'm just throwing something out there.

Mate, the best sitcoms are those that make the viewer think they know the characters; Only Fools & Horses (for me) would be an example of that - I know the script inside-out but love watching them because it kinda feels similar to hanging out with mates; I think you’ve achieved the same thing with this channel. I honestly couldn’t give a toss where you are or what you’re doing - I just tune in to listen to your ramblings and appreciate your character. I reckon a load of your viewers probably feel the same. Best wishes. Sam.

I understand what your saying but I sort of disagree with the reasoning... I'm thinking you need to satisfy your own camping 'itch' lol As for us, we would still watch if you camped on your patio. I understand you want to grow your channel with new exciting places but basically all camping is pretty much camping. I camp in pretty much the same area all the time but being 73 yrs old I need the familiarity of woodlots that I know. Three times a year I travel 8-10 hrs away to meet up with You Tube friends for a weekend and that kind of helps scratch my itch. hahahaha So you just do what makes you happy and helps your channel.. I for one will watch whatever you video.. I enjoy your honesty. and down to earth demeanor

don't worry too much about the 'views' and 'success' thing. I go wild camping but don't video it. I 'might' video my next one - but it will be a garbage video - just for a mess about. enjoy wild camping and bushcraft first and if you happen to make a video - then fair enough. treat success and failure as the same imposters (aka - "If" - Rudyard Kipling).

Great ideas, Dan! It's been really inspiring to watch your channel evolve over the years. I want to share some thoughts that reflect neither on you nor on your character but rather on the potential of your filming locations. The areas you've been using seem to have seen better days - they appear well-trodden and a bit neglected, with clear signs of heavy use. This isn't uncommon for popular outdoor spots, but it does present an opportunity for positive action.
Before you consider moving on to new locations, why not spearhead a small-scale regeneration project? Such an initiative could dramatically enhance the visual appeal and ecological health of the area, providing a richer backdrop for your videos and a valuable service to the community and environment. Imagine leading a cleanup and restoration effort, perhaps starting with something as simple as sowing new grass seeds to revitalize the landscape. This could involve:
Community Involvement: Rallying local volunteers and users of the area to contribute to its revival.
Funding Opportunities: Researching and applying for grants aimed at environmental restoration or community projects.
Leave No Trace Principles: Educating participants about minimizing their impact going forward, ensuring the area remains pristine for future visitors.
After setting the stage for regeneration, you could document the progress over the seasons, culminating in a showcase of the rejuvenated area by summer. This narrative could add a compelling dimension to your channel, illustrating the power of community and environmental stewardship.
Beyond this project, I’d be thrilled to invite you on an enhanced tour of the Scottish Highlands and Islands. With my years of experience exploring these lands, I can guide you to some of the most breathtaking landscapes the UK has to offer - from majestic mountains and serene lochs to unparalleled hiking trails and camping spots. It would be an opportunity to capture the untouched beauty of nature, emphasizing the ethos of Leave No Trace and the importance of preserving such wonders for generations to come.
Let's use this moment not just to move on to new sites, but to leave a lasting, positive impact on the ones we've enjoyed. Looking forward to seeing your journey continue, both on your channel and in the great outdoors.

It’s up to you where you go, and what you do when you get there.
But I wouldn’t totally give up on that location.

It’s more interesting to see you cooking, and reviewing Rat Packs, in the wild, than in your ‘office’…

Do you tell us the history of the places you go? Local Legends/Ghosts in the area? Going further afield shows you a new area to explore with new stuff for you to revive yourself rather than stagnate like you feel you are. Scotland and Ireland, I believe are less strict on wild camping. You may want to check out some places there. Dartmoor allows for wild camping in certain areas of the park that aren't being used by the British army. They run a flag up a flag pole on certain tors when they train on them.

It comes down to a few things. When your heart’s not into it I can usually tell pretty early in a video. And I’ve seen that at different locations and at different times since I’ve been following you. I know you want to grow your channel and eventually have this become your “job” but keep in mind relying solely on RUclips is a very dangerous thing. Lots of channels of this genre hit a plateau and more often than not cannot overcome it. I’m not trying to be negative. I’m just trying to be helpful. I also noticed this past winter you didn’t do as much hot tent camping as you did in the past even though you said in the fall you were looking forward to. And that’s ok. If you don’t feel it don’t do it. At the end of the day only do it if you’re 100% into it and getting something out of it. Anyways hopefully you get what I mean. Looking forward to your content this spring, summer, fall and next winter.

all channels are repetitive mate . do you think the novelty of youtube is maybe wearing off ? loads of channels come & go. must be hard for big channels like yourself to keep motivated.

Maybe, try doing a little more reviews than a predominant OEX brand. You do do some others but you can sometimes be very narrow in terms of cheap brand or just any brand options.
Try not to contradict yourself explaining your not doing any of the electric bike reviews and then follow up with you have 2 more to do.
Try be more uplifting, your in a very privileged position yet every other video seems to involve a doom and gloom speech about how RUclips and the world is against you.
And maybe lay off the click bait titles a little too, not every video has to have shock value.
Just a few to name anyway. Nether the less take this as constructive criticism and not as a dig. You don’t do a bad job at what you do as you have the subscribers and regular views to back that but I personally think if you want to grow you need to get out of some of your negative ruts.

I'm really looking forward to the new content comin', but to tell the truth I've always loved your channel since I found it. I'm a relatively new subscriber since last year, and I'm gonna stay around and watch your content until whatever the future may hold! ❤❤

But it's the same as you mainly staying in Blackpool doing the hotels, be nice to see you go elsewhere, to be honest I prefer your camping channel, once again like you've said it's getting boring.. The world's a big place

I understand what you’re saying. When I started camping a couple of years ago I thought I would love a permission woodland, now I would not thank you for one. If you go out regularly you soon get fed up with the same place and the same routine.

Changing location definitely helps mate! Every location have it's own energy. You just have to feel it inside if you feel even just slight discomfort the place is probably not for you. The more far away it's from the city the calmer and better energy there is. Try the same. You are not a tree to stay in one place. You can also try trail biking it helps a lot to explore woods and you don't feel stuck in one place.

Definitely looking forward to seeing what you do in the future though

I'm on the look out for woodland, I'm based near you. It's so hard to find the right spot around here. When you look into it a lot is owned by the big corporations. You're lucky to have it pal.

Rather than change what you do Dan, change tactics and find natural ideas that can be used to replace say ,camping stove...
I've seen people design rocket stove ,dug from the earth by creating a simple underground u design .. little things like such can spice it up a little Dan.
And like others say , the conversational ideals that you bring up, also entice us

Well said, I agree with the lightweight equipment, even if you don't intend on hiking it means you always have the option, I lost the time to go camping between work and having my kid I just don't have room for it in my life at the moment, not to say that when I do get the time I won't jump on the opportunity. When the time comes I wish to go on expeditions, I've felt in the past if I go to the same patch of woodland over and over it becomes less of an adventure and you lose the dynamic that allows for new experiences and excitement of the unknown. Glad you've got the time to go do this now pal and looking forward to see where you end up.

So what if there are nay sayers Dan on cryptids , there are also those that belief ... an open mind Is always an inspiring
And I'm probably going to stand on toes , but who ever believes in religion ... really if there were any evidence of the record of stories been precise, there'd be evidence of this ....
Similar stories ,yes but not exagerat3d like for a purpose .. never mind the contradictions that some have .

    Hi Bud.
I never camp and make videos of same area twice hence I travel around Wiltshire wood lands.
But you must be doing something right with your channel as you have plenty of subscribers, I'm struggling to get people interested in my channel lol, maybe you can give me some tips.
So keep up the good job your doing and keep doing what you love doing, wild camping.
    All the best,

Going further afield is a good idea, as are challenging weather conditions. Urban woodlands do attract groups of idiots and dog-walkers; coastal locations attract loners with psychiatric issues, so remote forests and high ground are better.

I love watching all your camping vlogs, so keep doing what you love. You’re little bit of woodland is special to you and us, so keep enjoying it, the enjoyment of camping is what I love about your channel. That said, I do like the idea of canal camping, that’s really unique and I’d love to see what that looks like, so yes please to some of those type of vlogs!! But above all else, keep camping, you get to do things I’ll probably never get to do (although you motivate me to try things I wouldn’t do without seeing your vlogs) and I enjoy seeing what you get up to!! Keep it up and looking forward to a year of new vlogs!!!
