I liked the cheesy jokes! I recently broke my arm because I got my foot stuck in the garbage can...I was pushing down the garbage with my foot...I fell over and "bam" broke my distal radius in 4 pieces. One metal plate and 7 screws later, my kids and friends still tease me. Lol. I just wish I had it in video! Then I could really laugh at myself. It's not even a cool story like, "I got attacked by a deer." Nope, for me, I was just clumsy. I sure hope you are feeling better. After the pain fades, you will laugh at this whole ordeal.

@@englishwoodsman Please do go to A&E, broken rib(s) was my worry when I saw your video; not that I've any proper medical training. I solo too, and it's easy to think that we're pretty safe here in the UK, no bears, wolves, big cats, but this should be a reminder to us all that soloing still has some risks and there are always the two legged ones that ruin it. I think you did the right thing, I thought it was going to be the kids who did it. Speedy recovery. Wish you the best. Take time for yourself though, stuff like this can effect you mentally as we as physically. Love your videos.

I've sat on the grass feeding deer at Bushy park just after rutting season and a huge stage took some sliced apple out of my hand then sat down infront of me wanting more. He had cuts all over him and stunk. But with you there was no grunts of warning or barking pathetic!

Actually deer DO attack people on a regular enough basis that there's 1000s of RUclips videos of such attacks that you could have searched for. In fact a farmer in Auss was gored to death by a beloved pet stag he had raised from a fawn a few years ago during rutting season.
I'm inclined to think you probably have been attacked, and suffered significant brain damage, causing amnesia and your single digit IQ RUclips comments.

I hope you have a speedy recovery Dan. I've had cracked ribs a couple of times and found the worst thing about cracked ribs is any laughing during the healing process hurts even worst, so as hard as it may be try not to laugh for a few weeks. You can always have a good laugh after once your all healed up. Looking forward to your next vid. Take care.
same happened to my brother when he turned the wrong way when on the floor. he loves comedy and hurt himself laughing for weeks!
That’s the one thing here you have to be careful of. The reindeer tend to be ok but the moose, they just trample you if they are upset. I often build up branches around me (yes I’m a bit paranoid!) to keep things away and if they do want to come close the breaking sticks will wake me up.

Man... I camp where there are Deer, Bears, Mountain lions, Rattlesnakes here in Arizona and have never been attacked! I also carry a handgun just in case but C'mon man!
That was quite the experience. I don't understand why the deer did this though. The deer knew Dan was there and still ran straight into him, head first, instead of going around him. Could it have been an attack? Or maybe it was a punishment because Dan is always eating herbivores...😈

Lived in Cumbria for 20 years and everyone you see bolts the opposite direction, I live now in the Cotswolds and there’s even more!! Again they just don’t come near humans. The only time you see them up close (everyday unfortunately on way to Newbury) is along the A44, killed from been knocked down from bolting across it from been spooked by cars

Honestly the things people do to get views, I have deer parks on my doorstep, in all the years I have photographed them and been out there they have never charged, if anything they are shy creatures and run away. If it was a huge stag, we would have heard it, no question. Glad I watched this before subbing!

Next time you go there make sure you're wearing a pair of your wifes skin tight leggings, a pair of ballet shoes, and hang a pink silk cape over your shoulder in readiness for the next possible charge. If a stag bolts towards you, stand sideways on tip toes and hold the cape at a 90° on the side of your choice depending on wether right or left handed. Hold your nerve until the very last second of the charge and whip your cape away whilst doing a pirouett and shouting " olé you beast " !! This evasive technique is most effective if you perform it standing approx 1m in front of a 200 yr old english oak. WALLOP..! Then look into the stags eyes as he staggers about like Deontay Wilder does after he gets tapped on the chin and shout ...." how do ya like them apples"? 😉👌🤣👍

Sounds like you got some cracked ribs. So no smart arse comments from me. Whilst deer are usually scared of people, several species can be dangerous if they attack you, and people have been killed by Red Deer stags. My guess, and I'm a very experience naturalist, is if it did actually attack you, it's because you were so low to the ground, and it didn't recognise you as a human or know what you were. I'm also a wildlife photograph, and I use low hides, similar to a bivi bag, precisely because most wildlife, does not recognise you as human when you are at ground level.

If you want a juicy steak, don't press down on it when you cook it. Medium rare on a fully lit grill is about 5 minutes on each side turning it frequently so it doesn't burn.

I often follow the lead of the wildlife itself when it beds down. When you hunker down in the brush you are protected from charging quadrupeds as well as hidden from mouthy young bipeds. There is something to be said for hunkering down.
Wow idk if this is fake or not but it’s sad to see all the commenters that don’t actually know that deer will attack. Males are more timid and attack mainly in rut, and females will attack if they think your trying to take their food or hurt their babies. An attack is rare but does happen. Deer regularly roam thru my property and I know full well to steer clear of new mamas and bucks in rut.

Is it just me or does anyone else think £7 is quite an expensive way to cook one meal ? In the services we would have got into quite a lot of trouble bedding down on the top of a hill where the wind is at its strongest, as for the deer attack ? thats when I switched off, I am sure the Bafta nomination will be in the post shortly. Hope you are OK fella. Deer calving season is between May and July and female deer protect their young by hiding them in dense cover such as bracken or long grass for a few weeks after their birth. The mother will often stand nearby, and if a dog or a human gets too close to their new-born they may act defensively. Get better soon and keep making the great videos.
Had a deer charge me when walking down off the Moors . I had my little one in a papoose sounded like a weird dog barking couldn't see it must have walked near the new born fawn . Then it charged me several times and back off at the last second just kept walking away it was stamping with both feet near me backed off then did it again several times .
So yes they will attack you .

If this was a genuine attack then i hope you wasn't to badly injured and recovered fast, however i can see why people are doubting it as there was no noise of another person or animal charging towards you no noises from the deer as they do grunt, also afterwards when you show your bag no evidence of marks on or around your bag were you was hit , thought there would be something to show from hooves or antlers scraping or tearing up materials and all you done was rub the area why did you not show a mark or at least look for your own curiosity to see damage, this is just a few things that red flag it for me but as i said if it was genuine then i hope you got treated and are all good.
Like I have said to many others I can't record every single angle, light, sounds, I am just one man and his phone, I'm not a movie maker
That grill tthing is worth the money you can go camping with a few mates and buy one of them and have a little meal well worth it it am going buy one next time amazing
