Yeah, it’s basically people thinking it’s the future and it could be if it was regulated by actual honest bodies with laws if broken, hold real consequences. Trusting random people to follow their own rules and not a group of people is just insane. Sucks to suck but that’s life.
Most organized religions are scams, too, so it checks out. That's not to say spirituality or having religious beliefs are scams, but the moment anything gets organized, it becomes more susceptible to corruption.
There are some really smart people doing great things in crypto, but they are a small group compared to the scumbags who just try to take money from people in any way they can.
I've noticed Brian always says, "...Okay?" after he lies or when he wants you to believe in something. I'm sure his family would know more of his ticks but if I picked that up in a few minutes of this video... I adore this new Batman era coffee has entered where scammers actively fear him to the point that they brag or scream about how he’ll never be able to get them
Something that needs to be remembered is that these arent necessarily people who KEEP getting scammed. @@mrtoad1408 part of it also come from the "community model". When "investors" able to know about and communicate with their peers, there's a perceived feeling of shared risk and reward. The illusion is that as the community grew larger, the risk of failing get smaller while at the same time the potential rewards get bigger. @aesthesia5023 that is exactly how Trump operated to grow. He scammed people by a lot, not following his end of contracts and then said "F@$k off you can't get the money together to sue me & the government won't help after I scammed you". Pretty much exactly what the entire crypto space is.
Bravo to the mom and brother. They have guts, morals, ethics, great values and balls of steel. Even though someone is blood doesnt mean you should let them get away with vicious crimes. It's super sad that they tried to help him and they will never see that money back. That could have gone to their own retirements and/or just spent on something that might improve their own lives.
Trying to watch scammers deny their theft because they weren't wearing a black and white striped shirt with a black mask and a big bag full of people's possessions is always so frustrating. "How can I steal off myself?" Because it's a wallet you own full of other people's money that they trusted you to invest.
it's a "question" that is extremely short yet requires an extremely nuanced answer, which he'll just interrupt or deflect anyway. thats why coffee is thinking what to say, because he can go into why it's stealing, but he knows it's stealing lol "sir you can't take that ring from the macy's display case, put it back please" "it's on my finger so it's MY ring, how can I steal my own ring?"
It’s like in Trailer Park Boys when Ricky moves peoples barbecues and furniture to the street and then says he’s not stealing because he’s taking out peoples garbage.
I remember that guy in Peru or smth who was given like 300x his normal salary by mistake and then just ran away and started a new life. He could have used this defense, "I wasn't stealing, how could I steal what is already mine?"
Scamming innocent people is definitely the worst, but honestly, I'm just as disgusted that Bryan turned his back on the people who raised him and said they were "just jealous"

They do - but government entities have to build cases and make sure they are airtight - they seldom lose when it comes to financial crimes but it takes a lot of time to get there. Unfortunately, crypto has made it like wack a mole as it is so easy to start a new one and rug and run. So they can't keep up either.
White collar financial crimes just aren’t persecuted as hard as middle class or lower class crimes because its harder in a capitalist society to go against individuals with lots of money who can strategically drag a defense out against the federal justice system which is already slow and don’t have their resources fully focused. This is why journalists like Coffeezilla are so important, if you can out a scammer publicly on a legitimate platform it helps warn and educate the public about a criminal. It’s like warning people about a sophisticated serial killer that the police can’t catch. When authority fails us we must take our financial security into our own . Damn right
I just wish the Feds (or the equivalent in Australia) would look into these scammers, just as enthusiastically as Coffeezilla.
ADF Australian Federal Police is the equivalent. They actually do check and catch them. Unfortunately, the investigation can be 🐌.
