The dimensions of the new Lange 1 Time Zone remain unchanged. The watch comes in three case/dial combinations: white gold/black, pink gold/argenté, and - in a limited edition of 100 - yellow gold/champagne.
For this review I have been choosing the white gold version with the incredible beautiful, black dial. By the way... it is the first time that the Time Zone is available with a black dial ...

Hello, I have a question, to participate in the raffle, I am a follower of yours on Instagram and RUclips, but I don't have LinkedIn, is it mandatory?
No, of course not! Good luck and thank you for your interest!
Just watched this video last week as I was making my final decision to purchase this piece. Not a lot of love out there for this amazing watch so I'm glad you went into great detail showcasing this. Thanks to you, I went through with the purchase and I am now a proud owner of a Lange 1 Time Zone. Keep up the great work.
Wow 🤩! I feel flattered… Bravo! Congratulations! Thanks for sharing! May your Lange always show you happy seconds, minutes and hours…
Beautiful watch and presentation. I wish they had a 39mm option for a smaller wrist. Otherwise, ALS have done an amazing job with details being legible. Other travel time watches can be difficult to read.
The best Lange 1 in my view.... just the right size too. U are right Alexander, ALS is on their own league..... to my own opinion they are the top together with the holy trinity & at times even more. My holy grail..... stunning!
So I hope the detailed video gave you some insights... 😉
Beautiful watch! Lange sets their own standards. That new calibre has a very clean simple look, I love it. Thanks for the details Alex.
Lange has been setting new standards in many terms. Calibres, design, quality, rareness, exclusivity... Tastes are different of course, at least I would call 90 % of them stunning beautiful... If you still have questions, please let me know. With this video I went far, opened a new chapter here... let’s see how the reactions are...
Incredibly well stated about Lange being it's own entity, and incomparable to Trinity and like. They're clearly holding their own. White gold and black for me.
Well, it is the truth! Nothing compares to A. Lange & Söhne!
I never get bored of watching the date changing mechanism. Thank you for your great effort.
You are welcome!
Love your reviews, very engaging and comprehensive! Especially when you story us about the background of ALS. :)
Thank you for your feedback! I love to infect people with the watch virus ... 😉
Stunning review of a stunning watch. I love your passion Alexander!
Thank you! Passionate content for the best audience in the world... 😉
As a Lange owner, I loved this video.
Laurens Floyd Jr Thank you very much!!!! Please let me know if you have any questions...
Like you say Alexander...this is art. Beautiful watch.
This is why I thought why not extending this video a little and giving our audience - the best in the world 😉 - the possibility to really dive into the Time Zone... Some watching it will probably get infected afterwards... but this is what I want and like to do... I’ve got hit by the ticking virus in my early days from my father, he was a passionate watch collector...
In some ways this is even more complicated to make than the chronograph. A marvellous watch with the dial made so simple and minimalistic.
Watchmaking at this level is per se "complicated", since very, very demanding ...
Truly a labor of love and ultimate dedication.
A work of art.
Thank you for sharing your passion in this video.
My pleasure! Love your comment! … thank you very much!
I hope to have one some day in the future. In Australia there around $85,000+.
Worth every single cent.
I keep my fingers crossed 🤞🏼 If you have any questions, please let me know…
I can't go to bed, i have to watch this one! Alexander you are diabolic😂
Enjoy! I will also go to bed in a while...
this is the one I love. cant beat old school engineering.
This is ticking art! Old school at its best... nothing less...
I would think blue would be an indicator of daytime given the color of sky. This is a fantastic demonstration- such detail is required as we know Lange pays such attention to this fine level.
Thanks for your feedback and sharing your thoughts with us!
Ausgezeichnet Report! This is one of the most thoughtful and detailed reports I have seen regarding any high-end wristwatch. Enthusiastic but measured, informative and useful for a prospective purchaser. It is good also that you don't hide your fascination for all the little details. Danke aus den USA.
Love your comment! Thank so much for the wonderful feedback! 🙏🏻 I am happy to read this! If you have any questions, please do always let me know...
@@WatchAdvisor A question regarding this new version compared to the previous. I believe the previous had lume in the hands and also even on the power reserve. If this is correct, I wonder why Lange chose not to include lume on the new caliber?
Some of the “old” ones in fact had lume ... not all of them though ... by heart I can’t tell which one did and which one did not ... if you wish I can find out for you...
Love your sound effects...’chuck’ , ‘bip’...
I love my work and I do of course get emotional when reviewing such a watch. I suppose I answered all questions in the video, but in case there are some left let me know please.
What a truly amazing piece definitely on my list to purchase
True! Love your comment! Let me know if you have any questions…
Excellent presentation, amazing watch. I am beginning to think that Germany is the home of brilliant watches, just like their motorcycles. I learn new things every time I watch you blogs. :-)
The purpose of extending the video was to allow you to discover the Time Zone under all aspects... It is a long video, I know... but if you interested you can dive with me in the ticking world of Lange for some minutes. And this is a watch you will not see very often in real, since production is very low at Lange... (a total 6000 pieces per year... Compared to Patek Philippe 60.000 pieces, this is real luxury IMHO)
@@WatchAdvisor Alexander....I'm not complaining. I find it fascinating. :-)
Of course you did not complain, I wanted to explain my intensions - that's all...
@@WatchAdvisor Alexander, I have not been watching your videos for long. In my opinion, your presentations are excellent. You are one of the very few who demonstrate and explain as you follow a logical sequence. I wish some more bloggers would adopt your style.
I am beginning to think you are professional. :-) :-) :-)
Looking forward to seeing more presentations.
Love your comment! Thank you! I wear a huge smile 😃...
Superb watch!
I couldn’t agree more! 😉
Thank you Alexander for such a thorough review!
My pleasure! I am happy to read this! Let me know if you have any questions and please keep us posted just in case you plan to make further steps... 😜
Alexander you show us paradise... 💙
That’s a wonderful compliment! I get goosebumps reading this... Thank you 🙏🏻!
Lange is better than Patek no question. That quick change time and date change is top notch
I fully agree with you, but don’t tell any Patek-fan-boy 😜
A. Lange & Söhne is one brand almost out of my sight because of it's too elegant brand till i close up watch of Saxonia Moon Phase and found a beautiful movement of German craftsmanship and also premium materials.
For now... looking this watch, It's worth every single euro you pay for.
I consider this to be a huge compliment for A. Lange & Söhne! Due to the small quantities manufactured per year and the way every single watch is done the Saxon brand clearly stands out... My intention, with this extra long video, was to give everyone being interested a profound insight... Thanks for sharing!
I love This channel! I love all watches!!
What is your favorite brand?
Lange is a amazing watch
This is exactly what I wanted to show with this extra long, profound video...
Excellent, detailed, in-depth review. Keep up the good work. I am really interested in buying this watch and feel this is the simplest time zone to read with the cleanest look. Time zone watches from PP and VC are too complicated to look at and even harder to read the time. However a lot of people discouraged me saying that if you are going to buy a Lange this is not the one. What do you think?
YOU buy the watch, not the others! So you should follow your heart and NOT listen to anyone else... The Time Zone is a perfect Lange IMHO, nothing compares to it. It is the perfect luxury watch. Understatement on top. As you wrote correctly other solutions are much to complicated and also difficult to read. As I mentioned before here in the comments there is only one watch being comparable and this is the one from neighbor Glashütte Original.... The Glashütte Original Senator Cosmopolite is a MSC, Master of Science, and the A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Time Zone is a M.A., Master of Art if you understand what I mean... Let me know if you have questions and/or you need any other help...
My favourite brand
With not even 6000 watches manufactured per year also VERY exclusive compared to a Geneva based brand that manufactures more than 60.000 watches per year...
Superb Video. Had the watch on my wrist in a lange boutique on saturday. will have to buy it soon. price increase will come in fall.
Thanks for sharing our passion! If you can, go for it… you will never regret this decision… And please keep us posted!
@@WatchAdvisor Can you please do all of us a favour and ask Mr Schmid if he can provide to you a 1815 CHRONOGRAPH „Hampton Court Edition“ for a review before going to Geneva for the auction at Phillips ? I will give you 100 likes for sure 😃
Alexander well said bro. Many people wont understand that lange and sohne is number 1!!!!!!!...like you said patek fanboys. You simply cant rivalise with germans!!!
+/- 6000 watches produced per year versus 60.000 + at Patek Philippe ... questions? And in terms of movement architecture and finishing we don’t need to talk either ...
Best unintentional ASMR
What a compliment! Thank you very much!
By measurement how much is the owners experience enhanced by double assembly?
great review
Thank you VERY much! I am happy to read this...
@@WatchAdvisor Frankly, you are not doing great reviews but the most in depth ones, also helping us grasp indefinable poesy of watchmaking and enriching our knowledge in a both entertaining and educative way.
Thank you for specifying! If you see it that way I’m even more happy 😃!! But they are still great, aren’t they 🤣😂🤣
Nobody does the hand-finishing quite like Lange
Yes! Some are close, but only almost and not “admost” ... What about that new color of the dial? Do you like it? For me this is one of the finest “new” watches Lange has presented for a while...
@@WatchAdvisor The dial has become kind of iconic for Lange, I guess. But if I were their boss, I'd be wondering whether it isn't time for a greater degree of re-design?
@@WatchAdvisor (Typo correction: I meant to say "re-design" not "resign"...!)
Is there any aspect of time-zones that A. Lange didn't think about?
Timezones having a deviation of 30 and 45 minutes from UTC... The Glashütte Original Cosmopolite can handle those... Did you watch our video?
@@WatchAdvisor Watching it now - amazing stuff going on!
Eoin Robson 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
nice video
big like to you!
Love your comment! Thank you!!
When did the new lange timezone launch? I know the 1st version launched in 2005.
In 2020
It's a beautiful watch but I feel that the larger sub-dial should be the one that reflects the time where you are currently located, while the smaller sub-dial show your home time. Although that can still be done with this watch, it won't be as easy and convenient as just pressing a button.
This is a good and justified remark! It is the principle of this watch since it’s beginning… just as the JLC Geographic…
Almaty is placed between Bangkok and Karachi, but Almaty is in the same time zone as Karachi (UTC +5), so this version of the dial is in error.
Placing both is not the problem... but does the watch show for both the same zone-time?
Karachi and Almaty are the same timezone, so the dial is wrong. Both are UTC +5. So Almaty needs to be replaced with a city in the correct place (UTC +6). Not much is out there, but in the past, the Lange 1 Time Zone had Dhaka which is UTC +6. Not sure why A Lange decided to change, and with the incorrect city to boot. For an EXTREMELY expensive time zone watch, you would think they would get that right.
@@WatchAdvisor I don't think you understand what I'm saying. Karachi and Almaty are both UTC +5, so why are both on the dial? If the intent was to show a city in UTC +5 and UTC +6 to space out the time zones, then putting Almaty there is a HUGE mistake as both Karachi and Almaty are UTC +5. How and why ALS did this, who knows. But this is a monumental mistake on such an expensive watch, especially when the had it right on the Gen 1 model. Really really confused why ALS did this.
So if you select Almaty thinking it will show the correct time of UTC +6, it would show the wrong time by 1 hour.
And the Maybach has arrived
That’s what I would call an appropriate description! 👏🏻👍🏼
Great time piece. Lange is my Grail
I am happy to read this! That’s why we produced that extra long video...
👏👏👏👏thanks! Great video.
Love to read this! Thank you!
NIce video man
Thank you very much! Thanks for sharing our passion!
Alex right now New Zealand is GMT +12 NZST Time. There's no DST down under [right now]. Obviously same for Sydney. So I'm guessing that red dot DST is just highly customisable. It's winter down under. Std time. I saw your couple of fly by's.
Other than that..
Sexiest watch I've ever seen.
The DST indication of course can be readjusted if dramatic changes occur... then the disc will have to be changed. Did you see/discover the Time Zone watch only through this video, or did you you know the watch before?
@@WatchAdvisor No only through your past couple. I have admired this piece for 15 years. Absolutely love it.
@@WatchAdvisor wait a second. My observation was based on watching you go around. Both AKL and SYD displayed wrong time zones. We do not observe DST while it's your summer there. So your red dot showing up there is just wrong. Or a manufacturing mistake.
The red dot always appears in that window when a country, a region have DST. It does not distinguish winter/summer. It is to remind you that there is DST (when in use or not) and you might have to add or deduct one hour.
@@WatchAdvisor I'm going to watch this all over again.
This watch is definetly worth every second of this video. Gorgeous watch.
Good choice reviewing the white gold version btw.
If A. Lange ever wants 2 get rid of such a wonderful piece (for free), please tell them i´d take one ;)
Keep up your excellent work...
greets
2387 seconds of ticking passion! Yes, the withe-gold version is a stunner, a wonderful combination with the black dial... Thank you very much for your positive feedback!
The date doesn’t change does it?
Depends...
Amazing piece - seems to be more dual timer than true (simultaneous reading of all time zones) Worldtimer...nonetheless incredible watch.
That's not comparable with a classical GMT/UTC watch... This is a dual-time-watch, easy to use and with very good readability... Quality simply is sublime ...
THOSE GERMANS THINK OF EVERYTHING,I AM TALKING ABOUT THAT RED IN THE HAND THAT TURNS TO WHITE WHEN THERE US NO DAYLITE SAVING TIME,THOSE GERMANS ARE A BADASS.I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF GERMAN MADE PRODUCT THAT WAS NOT MADE TO PERFECTION..
A. Lange & Söhne manufactures only +/- 5000 watches per year ... every single one is perfect
@ 33.20 seconds- somebody dump some ice water on this guy- I think he is going to have a accident
🤣🤣🤣 ... But there is NO need for ice water! Thats what I call excitement and passion! 😉
All that money and the travel time hour hand DOES NOT line up with hour indicies? Oops, my bad it is 11 after the hour. Doh!
What are you referring to?
It can be seen at time 12:50
@@fielyatmoredjo2697 Both minute hands are showing exactly the same time!!! What you think you saw is caused by the angle of the camera filming the dial from left to right and by the relatively huge size of the minute hand belonging to that tiny sub-dial. There is no technical issue!
@@WatchAdvisor thank you for clearing it up
@@fielyatmoredjo2697 You are very welcome! Always ask me if you have questions and/or concerns…
I am 40 and did go to a German school only until 11 or 12 but still some times when writing numbers I do it backwards like it's done there 2 and 70. Wiso? Das IST nicht logisch! Bitte eckleren! Pretty Please! It's just to make "untermenschen" not computing, wrong data....

I don't get the point... Sorry!
@@WatchAdvisorIt was a rude attempt at humor.
I MIGHT BE WRONG BUT YOU ARE WEARING THE WRONG KIND OF GLOVES..
??? Wrong gloves ???
The fact that Lange produces less watches does not make them exclusive. I made a sun dial once. It’s one of a kind, but that does not make it exclusive. I can go to the nearest Lange dealer and pretty much buy any of their watches i fancy. With Patek I will have to wait in line for several models AFTER I have purchased some of their other watches, excluding a whole range of customers, thus making those watches more exclusive.
A. Lange & Söhne is in fact much more exclusive than Patek Philippe... 6000 pieces made per year versus 60.000 ++ at Patek Philippe... No one would doubt and question this. Unless it is a Patek-fanboy... So never argue with a Patek-fanboy. 😜
@@WatchAdvisor Hmmm... so my reasoning can't be attacked, so we question my character as a person. I must have stepped on some germanic toes here. I can only try to retort by extending my reasoning. So by your measure the American brand RGM is far more exclusive than Lange with its 250 pieces a year, and Zenith is more exclusive than both Patek and Audemars Piguet?
@@WatchAdvisor To be clear, my nitpicking does not change the fact that I love your channel. It has some of the best watch content on the web.
Best Regards
@@FFL3001 We compare apples and apples and not apples and pears. So we talk about A. Lange & Söhne and Patek Philippe being at the same level of quality and prestige. Now if one of the two manufacturers +/-6000 watches and the other 60.000 ++ who is the one to be more exclusive? Your problem seems to be that you don't think/believe, you can't imagine that A. Lange & Söhne and Patek Philippe are equal. But in fact they are, in terms of movement quality A. Lange & Söhne is even better ...
hmmpfff... I have no problem seeing the quality in Lange's watches. On my list list to Santa there is the Langematic Perpetual silver dial, The 101.027x Lange 1 and the grey dial Datograph Perpetual. I think we just genuinely disagree about the word exclusive.
At 41.9mm this is just too big. It competes with the gorgeous Patek at 38.5mm. 40mm could have worked, but 42mm-ish is just too much for this kind of watch.
Is in fact not, since from that tiny Patek Philippe World Time you read anything... to much on the dial, too small... Just my two cents...
@@WatchAdvisor ... I believe a wise man once said: "You can read the time on your smartphone".
@@FFL3001 Yes, Jean-Claude Biver said that many years ago when he presented the very first Hublot Big Band All Black...
