as much as i would like to drive a semi right now it's not a good time because i am dealing with having my mom having cancer and my brother having heart, liver and kidney problems those would be distracting me so much and i wouldn't want to end up doing something that would endanger other people on the road.

No showing up late, no being unprofessional, no drugs/alcohol, no failing to listen, studying, staying on task, staying in my room for the entirety of the training, staying focused will get you in and out in a timely fashion. I passed the exam the first time with zero mistakes, and i knew NOTHING about trucking before coming. Prime is a good company and I like it. I am glad to have learned from Prime.
i am 58 i have owned my fencing co. for 33 years ,i was thinking about getting my CDL and work driving a truck.....my question is, is 58 too old to get a job trucking or am i post my prime on that.... thank you for your response.
I’m currently during orientation day 2- the only thing I’m worried is my 2 last employers aren’t responding back to prime regarding my employment- I’m concerned if I’ll be sent home if they don’t reach out - I’ve showed w-2’s and paystubs verifying my employment, which helped for now, however my recruiter told me if they don’t hear anything back, they deem it as “unverifiable” and will delay me a day or 2. However, is it possible to be sent home over something like this?
Great information. I was considering coming to prime, but have decided to go a different route. Heard to many horror stories here recently, trainers messing with trainees times and logs. Not training them properly just how to hold a steering wheel at night. Trainees and trainers doing the nasty in the trucks. Leaving trainees without pay while they take home time ect...
Bad story's are always talked about more than the good ones. People like to complain. Give us something to talk about. I have some horror story's about students but the good ones I don't have a story for them. Because they do what is expected.
"Prime Material"...I see almost as many of their trucks in the ditch, second only to Swift!! As a citizen they are some of the worst drivers on the road. I'm 67 and have has a "Chauffeur License" since I was 17, long before CDL. Prime Pfffft.
I don’t know if you are going to see this but you were talking about being fired from jobs I’ve never been fired from a job but I walked off jobs before when I was 16-18 2 or 3 can’t remember I’m 20 and been with the same job for awhile do you think i can still get in or should I not even apply when I’m about to turn 21?
I don't like to talk bad about companies, and big companies are all pretty much the same but prime seems pretty picky for a company that is known by screwing people on their lease purchase. I do remember when I started driving in 95 that prime was pretty legit back then though.
Hey buddy u forgot a big one I think the one I think u forgot is medical maybe do one over that because I got sent home from my first trucking company which I am glad now because prime started back hiring and I got in but medical is a big one
Yeah but if I have sleep apnea then they pull ur dot card and once u get ur machine and compliant they redo ur dot physical 60 days later and if u had a dr that just let u slide primes Dr will not do that he will send u home

Hey so prime inc approved me for classes on 7/21 for specifically reefer. Do I still need to get a tankers endorsement before I go out there? Or am I okay? I’m just wondering because I don’t know if I’m going to get sent home because I don’t have it.
Do you realize most people have cellphones now and they never answer phone calls? I don’t see the point of requiring references anymore. The average person doesn’t want to be bothered with providing a reference for someone else. They should check the application before you go for training, not find something wrong with it after you already arrived.
@@TwiztedDTruckerno that’s not problem fixed . Most people will allow you to use them for a reference and still won’t answer their phone. Nobody answers phone calls anymore .
@@gts3004 Some ppl, don't even have personal references. I mean, what if all of their family is deceased & their friends live far away? I think it's odd that companies need all of that to hire someone.
@@gts3004The biggest issue I find is when you apply for multiple jobs and everyone keeps calling your listed references over and over. Many people don't want to deal with the hassle. It can take months to find a decent job.
Damn phone!!! I have had people 2 different schools. Complain about the same thing with an instructor's and their direction Method, This way, that way, no, the other way doesn't help. I actually thought when I was in school. How did this instructor become an instructor using that method, Instead of using left and RI honestly thought this person didn't know his left and right. That was my thought. And hearing the reasons why behind it still doesn't make any sense but okay. Instead of asking your students if they know they're left and right forward and reverse. I'm pretty sure it will make it a little bit easier on the both of these the instructor and the student. For the students , if you have a question or concern ask they are , they are not mind readers the instructors. Keep in mind the test you guys wanna Ace. It's better to be in a group then. Then do not help anyone that struggling it's not cool with the Pre trip studying. Because everybody has their different way of learning. And if it's easier for that person to pick up great great , don't be stingy. You're all there for the same reason. It's not a math test. You can actually look at what people are jotting down. So you are able to interpret it and get it. Some people might have bad memory , but if they don't Understand because they overthink it. Or the nervous. Or frustrated to a point to where they want to give up. Should never be that way. I'm a more physical hands-on type of person. I want read it, put my hand on it. Repeat it over and over again. But it's really hard to do that when you have nothing to put your hands-on. And you're solely just going off script. If you don't know nothing about mechanics , it's gonna be twice as hard when you get there. Understanding what you're looking at the name of the part of the vehicle that you're pointing . What's should come with your sheet of papers? Again , it's always good to be in front of what you're looking at instead of imagining it . Help each other, you're not cheating on a test. You're just gathering knowledge. If you have a problem I won't speak with A instructor and tell them nobody's open. I'm trying to understand it the best way I cagain. I'm gonna say this they are not mind readers So don't expect them To know what you're feeling what's going on explain. I didn't do that in my first school but I didn't .my second School I got my c d l just putting that out There.. If you're unsure about something just where the students ask and instructor That you have an issue with this or a particular part. Make it easy for yourself.. And some places that give you chances they're like unicorns forolicking in the woods. I have not yet come One yet. And I found out that I am not good with team driving because I'm a Light sleeper. I guess I don't like being driven around. Can't sleep things start to build up? That's the only reason why I'm not with that company. But it was not an easy. For me to decide that, but. Thinking about the consequenyes. Yes, that a question in my mind that would have been the right choicause. I was struggling to stay up and only takes one time. Less than 5 seconds, maybe. And I was thinking about the company's equi.pment. And the person that was in the vehicle with me and everyone around me On the road. Did not want to risk it. Go out there and be safe don't speed don't rush. Watch those around you when they're on the road. Keep your eyes on all mirrors. Watch Merging lane Keep your eye on the trailer tires keep looking at those mirrors. Because you gotta watch out for those people that aren't watching out for you.
WTF is your online application for if you just have to turn around and explain everything and "interview" in person with a paper one. I get having a file with an application in it for records. But they have all your information when they call you after you apply online. Should probably determine if its worth the effort before calling you and shit.

I saw on website after I applied and it says I need tanker endorsement but the recruiter gave me an offer still I start orientation in June will they send me home for not having that tanker endorsement
Not send you home some states will not let you take the test
@@TwiztedDTrucker I’m here now the recruiter told me I have to get it after I saw u at the pad earlier thanks for info and videos
I know this may be a dumbass question But I am in Nevada where thc is legal. Now I have been trying to not hit the bong but my wife is a huge pothead and I ocasionally hit it still. It is hard to wait 90 plus days for it to leave my hair will positive THC hit send me home?
We only do urine testing here but don't rick it get clean then come
Does prime do hair follicle test or urine tests? Or both?
We just gotta get clean sis. I plan on applying once i can pass a urine test. And trust me before i stopped i used to tell people that i could piss a garden lol. Fruit/water/ salad/ and excercise. Good luck to you.
one thing that worries me is my long gap in work history were i started and ran my own landscaping business so i guess we"ll see im just ready for a better life for my women and myself thats all i crave i want that knowledge and the friendships
You might be alright you would need to talk with my recruiter
@@TwiztedDTrucker sounds good!
@@nhellrazer38 Were you able to get enrolled with your gap in employment?
Would prime still accept me if I failed at another company cdl training in the recent past?
Sure
Will a 31mph speeding over the limit 4 years ago send me home?
(Non cdl)
I do not know ask a recruiter
Im coming in with my CDL but with no experience…Will I go from Orientation straight to TNT or will i have to go the the CDL test?
You will be taught to back drive and pretrip then a evolution before tnt
How do you get your CDL before going to school?
I got my cdl without school or a company. I needed it for test driving trucks after i repair them. I dont know Dookie about the trucking industry. I do my checks before i go out but am i required to do log on at least paper and such before testing the truck or because im mechanic i dont need that. I live in virginia and cant get a good answer
Any time you drive a commercial vehicle you must log an on duty pretrip and off duty if you operate it. For you I would think since your on private property I believe you would be ok
@@TwiztedDTrucker thanks. I mostly drive on regular roads and interstate from half hr to an hr maybe a little more. Once again thanks and be safe.
The pandemic and work history would that be a work history issue was on unemployment before the job I'm currently at ?!?!?!?!
I do not know ask my recruiter
@Twizted D whose your recruiter?
They accept no work during the pandemic. Just make sure to tell your recruiter.
I have over 30 years experience driving. My last driving job I have 750,000 miles. Haven't driven in the past year and a half. Is prime worth the effort?
It's really up to you they been great to me but for you.. you have experience your opinions are endless.
Hey I have 6 years experience what’s the process. How long will I be out on the road with a driver.
Depends on they kind of experience is it otr or local
Will Prime hire with an abandonment on dac?
Really don't know you need to get with a recruiter on that
Question: If you already come with your CDL how long do you have to train? Do you go straight into TNT?
Depending on experience. Get with a recruiter
as much as i would like to drive a semi right now it's not a good time because i am dealing with having my mom having cancer and my brother having heart, liver and kidney problems those would be distracting me so much and i wouldn't want to end up doing something that would endanger other people on the road.
Take care of family first they are the support system you will need out here
How much they paying trainers?
It depends on the trainer but good 👍🏻
I know this is an old vid, but it's still good info. I have been with Prime 3yrs and i can confirm that everything you have said here is correct. I got in there and finished everything in 14dys.
Thabk you for sharing your experience
i am 58 i have owned my fencing co. for 33 years ,i was thinking about getting my CDL and work driving a truck.....my question is, is 58 too old to get a job trucking or am i post my prime on that.... thank you for your response.
Never to old I have had older students than that
I’m currently during orientation day 2- the only thing I’m worried is my 2 last employers aren’t responding back to prime regarding my employment- I’m concerned if I’ll be sent home if they don’t reach out - I’ve showed w-2’s and paystubs verifying my employment, which helped for now, however my recruiter told me if they don’t hear anything back, they deem it as “unverifiable” and will delay me a day or 2.
That last part about trainees having no pay during home time while in training, that part. Like wtf
"Prime Material"...I see almost as many of their trucks in the ditch, second only to Swift!! As a citizen they are some of the worst drivers on the road. I'm 67 and have has a "Chauffeur License" since I was 17, long before CDL. Prime Pfffft.
Tha ks for sharing
What if I haven't worked since 2015
I don't know depends on the situation
I don’t know if you are going to see this but you were talking about being fired from jobs I’ve never been fired from a job but I walked off jobs before when I was 16-18 2 or 3 can’t remember I’m 20 and been with the same job for awhile do you think i can still get in or should I not even apply when I’m about to turn 21?
Yeah always quit if you have the opportunity
I don't like to talk bad about companies, and big companies are all pretty much the same but prime seems pretty picky for a company that is known by screwing people on their lease purchase. I do remember when I started driving in 95 that prime was pretty legit back then though.
Right
Hey buddy u forgot a big one I think the one I think u forgot is medical maybe do one over that because I got sent home from my first trucking company which I am glad now because prime started back hiring and I got in but medical is a big one
I never thought about that because people come in with medical cards... people used to get sent home due to blood pressure
Yeah but if I have sleep apnea then they pull ur dot card and once u get ur machine and compliant they redo ur dot physical 60 days later and if u had a dr that just let u slide primes Dr will not do that he will send u home
Hey buddy I got a big problem I need to talk to u about I explained to Tennessee alittle I don’t want to do this when would be a good time for me to call u I really need to get ur advice really buddy
@Gene Scott call me tomorrow morning unless it's an emergency then call now. I am off to bed but I'll heat it ring if it's an emergency
@@genescottjr I don't have sleep apnea, high blood pressure or any other health issues but I'm overweight. Will they send me home?
Always get your license from a private school.
I disagree
Why do you disagree with this are you saying a CDL from a school isn't the same as a CDL from a mega carrier ? @@TwiztedDTrucker
yeah that happened to me the fn hotel maid took pictures and snitched on me that bia
That sucks. Too bad you just did not wait till you finished training
Hey man ive got my cdl with no experience got it 3 year's ago will prime train me
Yeah and please use my driver code
Good information. Ty
You welcome
Prime needs to train in yard and local roads with instructors and quit training with trainer to get cdl
No comment on this. I hear you
How can I get in touch with prime I already have my CDL permit from Georgia but I can't get in touch with them thanks for your videos it helps a lot
Get into my description I have all the info there
So for reason number 1... when exactly do you take the 1st drug test? Is it as soon as you get there? Or will you be there a few weeks or days?
It's random
Hahaha if they try tht I’ll just work. A local gig. Hauling sand & gravel … making same pay or more ppl don’t b fulled by these mega Carrie’s u can make good money working local
Yeah most require experience
Prime is like swift just a school
Yeah I can't argue that I don't know about swift
The driving portion you have 3 chances that's it
Yup
Hey so prime inc approved me for classes on 7/21 for specifically reefer. Do I still need to get a tankers endorsement before I go out there? Or am I okay? I’m just wondering because I don’t know if I’m going to get sent home because I don’t have it.
Some sates will not let you get it before the cdl
Do you realize most people have cellphones now and they never answer phone calls? I don’t see the point of requiring references anymore. The average person doesn’t want to be bothered with providing a reference for someone else. They should check the application before you go for training, not find something wrong with it after you already arrived.
Then pick the one that answers the phone problem fixed
@@TwiztedDTruckerno that’s not problem fixed . Most people will allow you to use them for a reference and still won’t answer their phone. Nobody answers phone calls anymore .
@@gts3004 I did my Prime application on Ten street, it showed that my application was denied 2 seconds after applying.
It can take months to find a decent job.
yeah make sure you arent an alcoholic, and dont consume marijuana products if you work in an industry that doesnt allow it
💯
You guys just become a merchant mariner problem solved
I didn't do that in my first school but I didn't .my second School
I got my c d l just putting that out There..
100% always watch everything
Only dope heads worry about a drug test.
True
WTF is your online application for if you just have to turn around and explain everything and "interview" in person with a paper one. I get having a file with an application in it for records. But they have all your information when they call you after you apply online. Should probably determine if its worth the effort before calling you and shit.
They need a handwriting on for the records
@TwiztedD right, just don't understand the need to wait till the last minute to verify your references and such when your already there for orientation and not long before they pay to get you there.
Random drug test on PSD was me
It's been more than just you lol
Driver turnover at prime is 99% ,why would anyone want to work there ?
It's not that high

Right
CFI is a really good company to get your CDL from Crowder College is a private CDL school as well! They don't cry baby like Prime does with things! from this video all I've gathered up was a bunch of cry baby petty crap that Prime is doing to people Prime sucks very slow trucks too!
Even worse prime is close to the bottom of the barrel
Is it? How so? Plus let me guess you never even been to prime.... so your speaking with no experience

Thanks for stopping by
Drug test pee and hair test?
Pee all day

The alcohol thing is high illegal. Alcohol is not illegal drug. If I want you to have one beer with my dinner after work And go to bed for 8 hours I no longer have alcohol in my system
F prime!!! I would never work there!!! Biggest rip off company ive ever seen ! Have people paying for those expensive trucks just not to own them
If your going to get a CDL, should stay home.
That's won't work

Thank you
Telling grown folks they can’t drink a beer with dinner is bullshit.
Grown folks complaining about is messed up also
I wouldnt have to worry about that sorry as company sending me home, because I wouldnt be STUPID enough to go work there.
But still smart enough to watch the video thanks for the view
