One thing that is guaranteed to put a smile on my face, the Surfrajettes. I finally got to see them on tour, had a great time. These ladies have been on the road a lot the last year.
Just looked at their tour schedule and it looks like they are going into ON Canada! They seem to lack dates on the west coast which is weird since this surf rock movement is a California think IMHO.
I saw them live a couple of days ago, and they wore the same outfits. They can only bring so many outfits on a tour across the country, but they always wear cute 1960's style go-go outfits, that's part of their image.
@@Sm00thR0ckS That _is_ their image. I absolutely love watching their videos, but if they didn't dress the way they do, or if it was a group of guys performing _exactly_ the same, it wouldn't be so engaging.
I'm definitely NOT seeing what others are seeing. If this was a Junior High School production I'd say it was pretty good. I've only heard them twice, both times completely unimpressed.
Music performance is genuine but their stage movement is stiff and they look as if they are worried about messing up. The bass player unfortunately looks old enough to have been a teenager when this music was on the radio... the other 2 chubbies are younger but not exactly beach bunny material. Frankie Avalon and the surf gang wouldn't be impressed. That being said, I love surf music and grew up in California (I'm 66 and this music was the sound track to my world)... Hot rods and summer at the beach, and at least they are trying....

They are specifically/deliberately an instrumental group.
They still sound great, but did anyone notice the drummer is bare footed? No shoes at all? Some drummers do this - she is one of them.
She could hardly wear the boots the others are wearing, so barefoot matches the surf aesthetic.

It is like the Rolling Stones meets the Beach Boys. A great performance as always.

It's an instrumental band in the "surf guitar" style of acts like Dick Dale and The Ventures etc. hence the band name Surfrajettes
Anyone who thinks surf music is easy to play is sadly mistaken.
