    Don’t forget to mention, zz’s prefer to be slightly root bound so if you wanna see some serious growth quickly don’t water too much as the water is stored in the ‘potatoes’ and keep him in a snug pot and you’ll see instant results I’ve propagated more of these bad boys than I’ve had hot dinners 😂💁🏼‍♀️

    • @Naniso
      @Naniso Год назад +18

      The leaves take longer to root as they will need to make the bud/potato lol before focusing energy on shoots. They are fun to propagate as you can easily get more plants than rooting a stem.

    Unless you’ve handled a zz and didn’t react you might want to wear gloves. I broke out in a rash from hands to elbows after repotting one I’d gotten free at work. Gave it away to a fellow plant addict. I’ve never reacted to anything else. Made poison ivy feel like a tickle.

    Heads up: ZZ's can take a VERY long time to develop roots, in ideal circumstances up to 3 months. If you want to prop you may need to exercise some patience while doing so (3 black ravens and 3 og leaves/ stems going currently).

    • @PunnuCooks

    • @DuneDemon8

      I had this info and got 2 leaves and put them in water and did not check them at all expecting that it will take forever. About 2 weeks later I checked them to fund big bush of roots on both! I planted in soil and 2 more weeks they developed small "potatoes" in the base of the leaf so I separated them in their own small pots. I do hope they continue this insanity
