Thank you , Mr. Carey. Your reading a Part of this novel brings to mind the very essence as to why this internet has been constructed. The freely given best of human knowledge.
@knife Read the book. As difficult as it may be, alone or with assistance, struggle along with the Kellys. Learn what made Ned, what made the man stand before the gallows and say, " Such is life, " before he took that fatal drop.
@@StevenCampbell1955 The book is a work of fiction. Hardly any factual evidence at all. It does not represent the true Kelly at all. You state that Kelly said "Such is life". That is a myth. That statement was made up by a journalist to embellish his writings for his paper. Kelly was a full blown criminal and a stand-over thug.
Finished the book today. First time I've been brought to tears by a book, and the only time in 2019 so far. That's because it felt so genuine. I guess it was due to my naivete or maybe my ignorance that I hadn't understood that this was a work of fiction until just now. I feel like such a fool. With the descriptions of the letters and the bindings of his work and the extensive speaking of and addresses to his daughter (who was entirely fiction, mind you) really made it seem real to me. It was a story that emphasized Ned's unfair portrayal by the media, and his search for justice and to make things right and to get the truth about himself out there at any cost. It's a shame, but also almost poetic that alot of what I had read in this book was false. Goes to show you that not much has changed, and that Ned's experience is still relevant. Writers sell stories. They always have. I'm ashamed to have bought into it as so many had in his time.
People that do not know the origins of the Irish, Welsh and Scotts history at the hands of the Brits, need to read a few more books. Carey's book on Ned is a sketch rather than a true history.

Bill Denheld You say at the hands of the Brits. Brits means, British, and that includes English, Scottish, Irish and Welsh does it not? I suspect you really mean English.

How can a novel be a true history ? It's a contradiction in terms.
@@johnnyoranges I agree with you 100%. A book of fiction should never be promoted as TRUE, when even the author says it is fiction.
i know I'm pretty randomly asking but do anyone know of a good place to watch new tv shows online ?
