Great point about modern Metal production. I absolutely love a big, crisp, expertly hyped modern sound, but the polish, the clarity, and the evenness rob richness and breath. Then they return with a new singer, who not only does a fanastic job, singing the old material but also breathed new life into them and they manage to crank out new albums, that are actually quality stuff, like their classic output, plus they kick arse as a live band, playing with more energy, then bands half their age. Seriously,if you have the chance to watch them playing,go for it,they're amazing live. One of the greatest comebacks in rock/metal history, not doubt about it. Couldn't agree more. In 2010, when I saw a new Accept album had been released I was skeptical. After all look what happened the last time, it didn't quite work out and they asked Udo to come back. The reason Peter left is because he found out after all these years he was just a hired gun and not an official member. That angered him so he left to join UDO.

When I first heard the Balls to the Wall album it turned my head completely around. So much heavy and melodic, American bands at that time (Ratt, Motley Crue, Van Halen, Twisted Sister) couldn't achieve anything like this.
I was born in '78 and have memories in the mid 80's being a very young kid in the mall with my Mom, grandma (Yiayia R.I.P.) and brother being bored to death in some clothing store. A TV on the wall had MTV on and some guys banging their head against a building - forcing it to collapse. Even at that young age, I thought it cheesy, funny and awesome at the same time. I saw accept in 1983 opening for kiss in New York City's Radio city Musical hall. I was there to see kiss but they blew kiss off the stage and I was shocked to see 50 percent of the crowd in black leather jackets with accept plastered across the shoulder blades and the when they played balls to the wall I felt the music hall shake with the entire crowd singing along and stopping their feet. Unreal, you had to be there. Became my new favorite band that night! Also saw them blow Ronnie James Dio off the stage in Madison Square Garden on the Sacred Hart tour. Udo's voice was like a thunder storm filling the Arena as compared to Dio's light rain shower that was very hollow and could not cut through the huge Arena. Again the opener got the biggest pop of the night with Balls to the Wall. It was awesome to also see them perform heaven is hell in a sold out 20k seat Arena.

I love ACCEPT but I have to say the one album that put them on top and was also "ahead of it's time" was Ball To The Wall..a fucking MASTERPIECE...love em or hate em you can't deny it.
Love your takes on my era of heavy music, though I never thought I'd dislike the word _inimitable._ The fact you're featuring these bands means they're in a class of their own.
very awesome Albums, Restless was their first Tape i bought back in 1984. Did a Review for that one & workin on a new one, I just haven't done one for Meatal Heart YET. 93 - 96 Albums uh well? wasn't wild about them. Blood of the nations however was a Great come back Album.
@@gusargoan AC/DC did a ballad. It's called "Love Song", was recorded for their first album "High Voltage" released only in Australia, and it's largely ignored for good reason. It's not bad, the intro is pretty cool, it's just not AC/DC enough for AC/DC.
THANK YOU! Cannot agree more with your opinion of "Balls to The Wall". What you said needed to be said. It is a pinnacle in metal, in all regards. Perfection. And I've always maintained "Losing More Than You've Ever Had" is the true hidden metal gem, powerfully moving.

Sweet as always Razor. Thanks. On a side note: I love when you do Updates. There are two versions we can watch; and see the differences. Which only add and never take away from either version.
My introduction into Accept was the old USA network show "Night Flight" which showed the video for "Midnight Mover". I bought the album "Metal Heart" shortly thereafter and then saw them live at the Hollywood Palladium in May of 1985. Good times.
Razor, you need to do a Kings X mythos. Ty Tabor perfected the use of heavy ass drop D before all the other bands had a clue. Respected by all God damn good musicians and fucked by the record industry.
Before this video, I only had a passing knowledge of Accept, but now I realize how foolish I was to not dig into their catalog. Thanks for the recommendations!

Hiya, I enjoy your Metal Mythos vids, I even watch the ones for bands I'm not into! I have a couple of suggestions for future editions that might be interesting... Scorpions have a lot of albums with varying quality. Also, Whitesnake. Also, not so much a band as an artist, an overview of Glenn Hughes? I know you like his voice and are familiar with his career. Megadeth of course if you like them. Keep up the good work!

This episode of Metal Mythos got me back into Accept when it was originally done almost three years ago. It also got me into U.D.O . I love every Accept album, especially Restless and Wild, Balls To The Wall, Metal Heart, Russian Roulette, Blood Of The Nations, Stalingrad, Blind Rage, and The Rise Of Chaos. I really love the Animal House album from U.D.O., but it is technically an Accept album. I do love a few songs from Eat The Heat, but I love everything on Animal House big time.

Love accept. Discovered the newer version last year,,,he’ll yea!,, that being said I saw U.D.O. 2 years a go in San Fran,,,,,blew the roof off! Killer!
Great episode....Accept is an amazing band. I always wish they would have located Jorg Fischer for the reunion. Great guitarist. One thing of note about the 'Animal House' album. If you listen closely the track "Lay Down The Law" sounds different sonically than the other tracks....and I am pretty sure it is Accept that performs on that song. The rhythm guitars sound like Accept. The lead licks sound like Wolf and the solo sounds like Jorg.
@@DokkenSabbath ....Yeah I asked Matthias Dieth from U.D.O. if it was actually Accept on that song and he confirmed it was. Apparently Accept recorded some of those songs from the 'Animal House' album as Accept before Udo left. The record company decided to put one of those recordings on the album. The whole album was written by Accept and was intended to be the follow up to 'Russian Roulette'.
"Too Mean To Die" is yet another album that will reign in 2021. Fuck, I have listened to that album almost every single fucking day since it came out on my Birthday, and it has NOT seen the case since I pulled it out that very day! 5 albums since 2010 and they still have done no wrong!

True but the other lps they did Blood of Nations & Stampede.. are both awesome lps. even a different kind of Truth by Van Halen is a great one. if you are talking about keeping up live than yes many of them have gotten worse.
There is something fascinating about watching a person geek out (for lack of a better term) about their favorite bands/genres. Although, Razorfist doesn't really geek out. He explodes more than anything else.
Hey Razor, here's a little history note I hope you'll enjoy. To explain to anyone who may be wondering why Heidi Heida gets booed off the stage in Poland, between 1945 and about 1970 the Polish film industry had a thing where in historical dramas characters spoke their appropriate language. In a WW2 movie that translated to actors who spoke decent Russian cast as the Red army, actors who spoke decent English cast as the British and of course actors who spoke German cast as the Germans, at least for major spoken roles. You also had plenty of extras to make up the necessary numbers, who were monolingual Polish. The chorus for Heidi Heida is really easy to teach to extras for a "German troops singing and drinking at a bar" scene, to have the entire place erupt into song. I can't give you titles off the top of my head, but Polish WW2 movies got a lot of mileage from Heidi Heida, which lead to an association with Nazi thugs in the minds of a good chunk of the population. I think you can see how well Udo singing that in camo gear would go down, knowing how the song was used for about 30 years. I know the song is far older than that, but a lot of people sadly don't. I'm not here to defend that association, merely to explain it.
Razor, if you haven't done so already you should listen to some of the black metal coming out of Poland recently. Mgla, Plaga, Odraza, Furia, and many more! I feel like these Polish groups have evolved and further refined the genre as a whole. They are fantastic!

When you got to Restless and Free, and i heard that twin guitar , that was what i was waiting for. Im like, ok, when do these guys start going all into the metal , and there it is.
Hell Yeah I love U.D.O and Accept I’m 21 going on 22 later this year and I’ve loved Rock And Metal since I was a kid when my Dad got me into classic rock n roll and heavy metal Udo Dirkschneider is one of my favourite metal singers I saw U.D.O Live 2 years ago here in Edmonton on March 16th 2018 at The Starlite Room when they played Accept songs for the last time it was a great show and I’ll always forever love rock and metal until the day I die🤘
I also saw Accept with Kreator live on September 21st 2012 at The Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver it was a great show too🤘
@@dravenquinn264 What's up with the lifestory?
Just what I needed to help me get through the last half of my shift today. Some Razorfist.
Nice! Losing More Than You’ve Ever Had is my favorite Balls to the Wall track, electric drums breakdown notwithstanding
I miss how the old version of this video ended.
"And that does it folks. No rants here, not with a band that bafflingly consistent, just a sterling collection of bronzium plated metal ths has stood the test of time."
Seen your 1st installment of Accept then get the notification that you updated it,so i had to take a peek. So how did i know where the update started? Well you go from wearing a t-shirt of my all time favourite band WASP to then suddenly having an Accept t-shirt on,1 of my top 5 bands of all time. Your a legend bloke,i consider myself to be well versed but brother you take it to a whole new level.....the stratosphere.......LEGEND🤘🤘🤘
Dude this was awesome. Yes, i listened to blood of nations over and over and over
Blood of Nations is one of the best sounding cd;s i have ever heard!
My band used to open up for TT QUICK all the time. Mark is a good guy...
Restless and wild, Balls to the Wall and Metal Heart are three of the greatest metal albums of all time.
very awesome Albums, Restless was their first Tape i bought back in 1984. Did a Review for that one & workin on a new one, I just haven't done one
for Meatal Heart YET. 93 - 96 Albums uh well? wasn't wild about them. Blood of the nations however was a Great come back Album.
Razorfist, it would be great if you could review Accept's Too Mean to Die and Humanoid albums, as well as doing a Metal Mythos episode on U.D.O.
Since you mention them enough, would love a Mythos on AC/DC.
Why would you want to torture Razor like that?
@Joey D Definitely Deep Purple
No Mythos for a band that didn't do 1 ballad. He thinks ACDC is Accept for normies.
@@MrSaywutnow why? It's bad?
@@gusargoan AC/DC did a ballad. It's called "Love Song", was recorded for their first album "High Voltage" released only in Australia, and it's largely ignored for good reason. It's not bad, the intro is pretty cool, it's just not AC/DC enough for AC/DC.
The BEST way to walk down great memories music past, present and /or future! Nothing even freaking close, Metal Mythos!
THANK YOU! Cannot agree more with your opinion of "Balls to The Wall". What you said needed to be said. It is a pinnacle in metal, in all regards. Perfection. And I've always maintained "Losing More Than You've Ever Had" is the true hidden metal gem, powerfully moving.
Awesome as usual, a loudness retrospective would be another great watch🙏
The tingling I get in my spine is almost painful when I listen to Fast as a Shark. Great vid. Also, you and your little buddy should stream more Battletech videos.
Great things happen when the Razor speaks! Thanks for the update, I dig the new shit also, but there will never be another Restless and Wild. "SHAKE YOUR HEADS"
Fukkin Love that shit so much! Thanks for bringing it back for me bro!
Wow I literally just got around to watching Accepts metal mythos last night and I wake up to this??
Hell yeah!
My favourite band when I grew up in the early 80s.
Thanks for the video.
Found you through Styxhexenhammer666. Amazing stuff. Love touring through these mythos episodes.
Sweet as always Razor. Thanks.
On a side note:
I love when you do Updates. There are two versions we can watch; and see the differences. Which only add and never take away from either version.
Only found this band because one of their songs was in your stream intro. Their newest album kicks so much ass!
The acceptable Trinity: Balls to the Wall-Metal Heart-Russian Roulette!!!!
Cool Video!!!
Greets from Germany!!!
Great video. I seen Motley Crue, Ratt and Accept play June 13, 1984 on City Island, Harrisburg, PA. Accept was the best of the three.
The most accurate review of balls to the wall ever💪
Before this video, I only had a passing knowledge of Accept, but now I realize how foolish I was to not dig into their catalog. Thanks for the recommendations!
Ive done some reviews on them, working on a Breaker one now.
about 4 yrs ago a friend of mine also said he likes Accept But Never did before, just took him some time to Notice, hey this is a Good Band
Scorpions, Ufo/Michael Schenker ,Rainbow or Deep Purple music mythos pls
All good bands but don't forget URIAH HEEP.
Uriah Heep, Jethro Tull and Deep Purple! Those are my picks.
Great channel Razorfist! I just discovered it. I'm a dedicated metal freakazoid like yourself. A King Diamond metal mythos episode would be killer.
YES, A NEW METAL MYTHOS!!... for a band I’ve never heard of... oh well, I can accept this.
Thank you for so entertaing review of Accept discography
BALLS TO THE FUCKIN' WALLS! Thanks for the update Razor, and you're right...new Accept is as badass as ever, maybe even more so! \m/
Love this series. Keep it up! OK, maybe not the most appropriate place for this but, don't know where else to submit a request, so here goes: How 'bout Savatage - one of my all-time fav metal bands. Regardless, keep up the awesome work.
Great review, man. Sharp and intelligent, as we all metalheads. Accept from Blood of The Nations onwards is KILLER!!!!!
Agreed! Priest, maiden and Accept were my faves in the 80s n still are, plus Megadeth

Ok , you’ve sold me on accept. Thank you👍
Thousandth like. Thanks for talking about these bands man!
Love this series! You have a full on talent for this stuff, hugely entertaining vids. You sound a bit like Chael Sonnen ranting, but that is a compliment. Your delivery holds my attention for the full hour #hardtodo
Wow!! Those are my three favorite classic metal bands of all time.

Do Saxon please.
Yessss!! Please do it
Absofuckinlutely do Saxon
He just did. You're in luck
Love accept. Discovered the newer version last year,,,he’ll yea!,, that being said I saw U.D.O. 2 years a go in San Fran,,,,,blew the roof off! Killer!
Keep them coming. Simply goddamn beautiful
I believe it is Accept playing on that song. My copy says featuring Accept.
Razorfist!! We NEED a Mythos on Overkill!! Please?
YES!!!
Agreed
YES OVERKILL 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
My guy, I love these Metal Mythos' you do, I'm in.
"Too Mean To Die" is yet another album that will reign in 2021. Fuck, I have listened to that album almost every single fucking day since it came out on my Birthday, and it has NOT seen the case since I pulled it out that very day! 5 albums since 2010 and they still have done no wrong!
>5 albums since 2010 and they still have done no wrong!
Make that 6, with Humanoid.
Alice Cooper Mythos please!
Love to see a Darkthrone update to get your opinion on Arctic Thunder.
You mean Axe artic thunder? Its a great deodorant
Fenriz told on his facebook page that the recording of the upcoming album has finished.
Cain's Brain and old star. Just to see if he still hates their newer stuff
Awesome! Your video is what got me hooked onto Accepts music to begin with. Not watched the video yet but I was kind of disappointed with Rise of Chaos.
ive been a fan for years & yeah Rise of chaos isn't incredible. Restless & wild was My first Accept tape back in 1985
@@MetalHeart8787 They are getting old, and bands can't keep up like they did when they did when they were younger. A fact of life
True but the other lps they did Blood of Nations & Stampede.. are both awesome lps. even a different kind of Truth by Van Halen is a great one. if you are talking about keeping up live than yes many of them have gotten worse.
I saw accept live in the mid 1980s. They were the opening act for Iron Maiden or Ozzy, I cant remember, and they were good and loud.
Amazing review! You nailed it!!! 🙏🏻❤️🤟🏻
Thank you for all the stuf you do
Youre the man loved every second of it good resaerch well presented keep it up l’ll be watching everything else👏👏👏👏🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Well done. I thought I was the only metal nerd that was interested in this kind of nonsense. Kudos. Udo is god.
Metal Heart is probably one of my favorite heavy metal song.
Yes epic song! BUT Restless & Wild is my favorite & my first Accept tape I got back in 1985
#The90sWereOverrated
am sure you have albums that was made in the 90s
brandon coffin Huh?
I was first introduced to Balls to the Wall when it first came out, when I was in 6th grade. Was blown away even then at that age.
Razor, if you haven't done so already you should listen to some of the black metal coming out of Poland recently. Mgla, Plaga, Odraza, Furia, and many more! I feel like these Polish groups have evolved and further refined the genre as a whole. They are fantastic!
I was amazed how good Accept was with Mark Tornillo when I first heard them.
Hey Razorfist! Been thoroughly enjoying these videos. Do you plan on making any more metal mythos vids ? Do you have a list of all your favorite bands ? Not only have you reawakened my love for over half the bands youve covered, youve inspired me to like a couple I didnt really follow too well previously. THank you very much man. What you do is essential.
Been looking forward to more metal mythos!
Real good job man
To be honest with you I love the 90s
Pearl Jam is my shit
But I was probably 12 years old when balls to the wall came out
So I grew up on the 80s metal
And I became what I thought was too cool for wasp and Ozzy Osbourne and all that stuff
I've been binge-watching your metal Mythos
Because of you I'm going to go back and check out some of the old music I used to love I'm going to check out the newest accept CD
Anyways I just want you know I thoroughly enjoy what you do thank you
