The newer models actually used the same gauge (rail spacing) as the original models as they both ran on O gauge track; they were merely built to a larger scale on said track (Think the difference between HO trains and OO trains)
Sir Handel was actually absent since his large scale model wasn't completed yet. His model was reused for Proteus, however his chassis was not finished, so Peter Sam's chassis is reused, his green cylinders can be seen behind Proteus'.
They were actually so small, they had to hide the electronics in a single car, so if you see Skarloy pulling a single coach, thats the were the wires are!
How do you confuse the difference between "hiding" smoke, and hiding a battery to power the servos for the eyes? And the smoke they used was hidden the same way as for the 1-gauge models. (Under the tracks.)
@@flyingScotsmanProductions Proportions were iffy, faces were a bit off, and they seemed less detailed. And Peter Sam (IIRC) was missing his whistle due to whoever was building the models not realizing it had been knocked off the original.
And, while not sloppiness per se... there's also the hideous oversize face of Rusty's large scale model. Whoever thought that was a good idea? Was wrong. Whoever failed to overrule them? Was negligent.
Oh god, imagine if the stories from small railway engines were adapted in season 5 or 6, the models would be tiny
They would probably use large scale, i think theres no scale smaller than N
Oh ok
That's exactly why they didn't do that.
thats why they didnt do them until the cgi era

Season 4 is by far my favorite thomas season
The narrow gauge engines just roast the absolute shit out of each other and it's amazing 😂
Fr bro
So basically the models chonked up
CHONK
Chomas the Chonk Engine
they took “grow up” to a next level
The narrow gauge engines were always my favorite.

I never liked it since the wheels spacing just looks super off everytime i watched a narrow gauge ep as a kid. Still much prefer the series 4 ones
we need a guy that all Thomas fans probably need :)
I never knew this!
And that is why we didn’t see Sue Handel and Duke for the rest of the classic series.
actually it was Duke

Narrow gauge engines were little devils to each other 😂😂😂
they also hid the eye mechanism’s behind rolling stock.
Interesting facts. I might just subscribe :)
Please do!
Already did before I made this comment xd
THATS SUCH A GOOD MIX OF THE SKARLOEY THEME ONG
Yeah, but I’m glad they made a bit bigger models for the show.
Skrunkly 🥺🥺
Tbh they may have been painful to film but I believe they are some of the best models of the show and are better than S5 variants
Well now we know why they did not even use miniature engine? Because the peices for the models?
The faces on the smaller models looked better tbh. The bigger ones looked goofy and toy like.
They were actually so small, they had to hide the electronics in a single car, so if you see Skarloy pulling a single coach, thats the were the wires are!
Yes, yes I did know that
Imagine if Britt decided to do some episodes of the miniature guage engines. They'd have probably been even MORE of a pain.
It makes sense why the miniature engines weren't in this gauge
I was watching this as a video so the word so would be the end of the video
Yes This Engines is so Small
the perfect loop doesnt exis-
WOAH! I DID NOT KNOW THIS INFORMATION!!
That’s ok, I never noticed and I’m fine as f I did
The engine roll call sounds way better in different languages, trust me
Poor crew members
Imagine if they built the Arsedale Engines
Did you know that in the S4 episode 'You Can't Win', Duke was wearing Falcon's angry face?
Yes
Sir Handel didn’t appear until season ten
I think the old age ruined him
so thats why arlesdale railway wasnt introduced
isn’t that what also happened for the big engines?
the smoke machines where never in the engines, unless they were in the wharf and pack ones
How do you confuse the difference between "hiding" smoke, and hiding a battery to power the servos for the eyes?
And the smoke they used was hidden the same way as for the 1-gauge models. (Under the tracks.)
this is common knowledge
not rlly no
I just realized they didn’t puff steam
I wish sir, Handel and Peter Sam are better.
YDM 4
Didn’t they hid smoke units under the track for all the models except for the funnels for standard?
Unfortunately, while those larger models may have _run_ better... they were sloppy rushjobs and it showed.
what do you mean?
