Tama po kayo Teacher Macs. Not all teachers of English sa Pilipinas ay nag papa-journal or diary pa rin, especially sa public school po. I tried to before when I was still teaching English (I've been teaching MAPEH for three years now) magpajournal or even formal theme. I found how some students had a hard time even mag construct lang ng simple/compound sentences. Yung mga nasa higher sections/special program sections, okay lang. Their foundation is good. May iilan ilan na nakakalat din sa ibang sections, since hetero rin naman na ang sections these days. There are also non-readers na nakakalusot at nakakarating ng JHS. So HS teachers had to make interventions for the students. In my current school, they are planning to pull out these students and just focus on improving their reading, writing and comprehension skills kasi it also affects their performance sa other subjects T^T Problema din na walang retention masyado ang mgabata ngayon. Kakaturo lang, nakakalimutan na agad. xD Sa teaching Englishnaman po sa klase, may times din that I had to explain the grammar rules in Filipino before pero, of course, I still do it in English before translating what I said in Filo. Haha. Sa part time ko naman po, same din po sa China. Explanation sa language nila. Wala lang SKL po hahaha
Thank you for always sharing your experiences. I hope many viewers read inspiring comments like this. Looking forward to hearing your own ALT stories here in Japan. All the best! :)
