The glass jar looks like part of an "marvel inverse oiler", which introduced a small amount of light oil and solvent into the intake based upon engine load, for supplemental lubrication and cleaning.
@@Volkswagenplanet To some extent it can. My Mazda RX-8 had an oil injection system, which pumped oil from the pan directly into the combustion chamber -- a necessity to lubricate the apex seals on a rotary engine. I would typically get about 1000 miles per quart of oil consumed. Thanks for the video. The first car I ever bought was a beetle. Kind of a wreck but that's how I learned to work on cars. Nice to see an old one in beautiful condition.

I don’t think a split has reached 100k yet. In fact a very nice one sold in BAT recently for $28k. I see people asking very high prices but I don’t think they are going for over 60k when it comes to an actual sale.
Hi. Just a little history on this car. It was sold at this dealer about 6 years ago. The price they were asking was $58,000. What they sold it for, I don't know. hymanltd.com/vehicles/5268-1952-volkswagen-zwitter-beetle-coupe/

It's a late 1952. VWs made before Sept 52 didn't have front vent windows.
