Thank you for your videos. I really appreciate your minimalist approach to skincare. FYI: I've been using tretinoin since my twenties when I developed adult acne. I'm 67 now,, so you can say that I'm on a maintenance program at this point. I use tretinoin on my face, neck and decolletage about once a week and it's been very effective; however, maybe my skin has just developed a tolerance to it. I do have a few friends who have thin, sensitive skin and cannot tolerate tretinoin in any strength..
Mewing is scientifically proven and extremely effective. It's mainly effective before the age of 25, you can still see changes after 25 but they'll take longer.
I have soooouch respect for Dr Youn and lucky enough to go to his office in Michigan. Only a TRUE doctor would give alternatives to plastic surgery. He really does care.
I’ve been using tretinoin on my neck for more than 3 months now… I’m 67 and it was a challenge because I had to stand the redness, the itching and peeling but definitely 💯 I went through it and it feels good! I even use it on my eyelids.
I actually thought he was going to go over different exercises for strengthening muscles in your neck/chin to get ride of double chin. but, that would be free.so...🙃
Olivee Claxton It’s not like he’s incentivized to tell you to buy face creams. He probably just isn’t an expert in talking about those exercises, since he’s a plastic surgeon.
Li correct me if i’m wrong, but doing jaw exercises to “tone” that area of your face, is building muscle and when you build muscle that area gets bigger. so it would either make ur double chin area bigger or not do anything since it may not be enough to add muscle on?
My aunt makes a free face lift daily, ever since I remember she wears a high ponytail that stretches all her face skin, my cousin (not her son but nephew as well) said he once saw her without the ponytail and didn't even recognize her because her skin sagged everywhere, LOL!
Just a product recommendation..I love the Essential Firming Cream from Sulwhasoo, my favorite Korean skincare brand. It is a bit pricey, just a jar lasted me 5 to 6 months. And it definitely kept my face plump, tightened, dewy. It worked beautifully for me.. They also have a firming cream specifically for the neck, but not sure if that is an Asia exclusive product or not.
Dr Youn, I did the Morpheus 8 treatment & it aged me 10 years! 😭 I’m 51 & my neck really wasn’t that bad, but I wanted it better.. the treatment took away all the fat & firmness that was in my neck & left it with hanging, saggy skin. I did some research later & read if the needle head was too big, (over 1 mm) it can diminish all fat etc & just leave hanging skin. I’m a little on the thin side already, so had really no fat to take off. I took the kids to the State fair recently & won my daughter a prize because the man looked at my neck & thought I was 61! 😭 I went to see a plastic surgeon recently, but she turned me away because of my autoimmune disorder, she didn’t want to risk it. 😭 Maybe I will try the juvederm u mentioned, but tbh I’m a little afraid the dr could make another mistake like last time & make it worse. Is there anything that could go wrong with this filler or anything I should be aware of before I go in for treatment? I’d love to see u, but ur booked out of course!!! 🥺 Ty for all your videos & all the good advice u offer.. I appreciate u!! ☺️
I feel bad for you! I'm sorry to hear that. But, here's some advice: Scupltra is a good treatment without major rebound effects on losing more fat, it just stimulates collagen, look for another doctor and see if your body accepts sculptra.
Most people here are saying face exercises and I’ve seen a lot of videos supporting that. Why is spending money on products considered a ‘concrete solution’ to you? I used to like dr youn but instead of supporting stretches or excercises he’s just pushing products and spending more money. Some of us don’t have money and exercising Is our only option but I saw a video of him making fun of a girl doing face exercises. What would be more helpful and moral would be if he could debunk it for us by proving to us that it factually does not work. But he didn’t do that. He just laughed and mocked. So now I’m losing respect for him and I’ve seen a lot of evidence to suggest that face exercises do in fact work.
@@j0anee711 he's a plastic surgeon and you expect him to give you natural solutions? If you want low or no cost remedies don't go to a plastic surgeon! That's like going to a doctor for a headache and getting angry when he doesn't baptize you and pray to God to make it go away.
Thanks, Dr. Youn, but I thought that heat-producing devices actually *dissolve* fat in the face that we want to preserve, especially in an older person. I also thought that injecting filler in the lower face (i.e., jaw line) in an older person will only add volume (which you do not want), making the jowl area look even heavier -- that the idea is to use something like Sculptra, higher up in the pre-auricular space, which will lift and tighten the jaw line. That makes sense to me. Could you respond to this, please? Thank you.
Be careful with the kybella! I had a very small double chin and the kybella got rid of the fat but left me with saggy skin. I’m going to try microneedling to tighten the skin.

Hello Dr. Youn! Have you heard about "mewing"? Or do you even have an oppinion on it? I would LOVE to know what an actual doctor (espacily a plastic surgeon) thinks about it. It is supposed to be a different way to use your tongue muscle to form your neckline, jaw and cheekbones.
@@msadent1825 I juiced an entire onion in the vitamix, and strained out the juice through a mesh strainer. When you're ready to wash it out, use a sulfate free hydrating shampoo and wash it out twice. Then I put avocado oil or a conditioner you love. Before bed I will saturate my hair in avocado oil and put a cap on. DO NOT WASH YOUR HAIR EVERYDAY! You can also use castor oil mixed with Peppermint Essential Oil (not store bought) if you cannot handle the onion.

I use tretinoin on my neck, been doing it for over 2 years now. Yes it’s super aggressive and not every one can tolerate it… but if you start with retinol you can slowly work your way up, mix it in with a moisturizer first. I have zero wrinkles on my neck thanks to tretinoin. Go slow!! 😅
I think lipo is the better route to get rid of the excess under jaw fat, kybella is so limited to the submental area, whereas lipo can target the entire jawline.
Here's some alternatives that I know: 1. Exercise (especially chin tucks, tongue, neck exercises) 2. Mewing 3. Proper breathing (to the nose, not mouth having hanging open and tongue laying low all the time) 4, Proper tongue swallowing 4. Proper neck, head, shoulder back posture. (which is really really important. Without proper posture, mewing and proper breathing is hard to achieve)
Dr. Youn, I have a bit of a double chin- there’s just enough fat below my chin to be annoying and noticeable. I don’t have money for creams or in-office treatments, and am wondering if there are any face/jaw exercises that will target the fat in that area. I’m young (early 20’s) so it’s not a problem of sagging skin, just a bit of fat in the wrong place that I’d like to be able to get rid of without surgery. Do you think there is something like that which would work, or am I barking up the wrong tree?
It’s physically impossible to target fat loss in specific areas. Drinking plenty of water and getting enough exercise is the most effective way to lessen the fat and liquid that your body holds on to
You could try “Gua Sha” which is a massage method that uses an ancient strategy (a stone made of something like jade or quartz) to improve fluid drainage in the face and reduces puffiness and excess fat/liquid in those areas
@@melissajacobs4878 Gotcha Thank you! I've picked up a jade roller for general cold massage, as I get migraines and muscle tension, but I know theyre made for the face, so I'll try using it for puffiness more often.
I love the products and how they tighten up those little problem areas. I’m a teacher so I don’t have a lot of money, however I’d like a product I can get the similar results for everyday use. Is there a product that is packaged for everyday use without being out of my price range?
Thank you Dr. Youn :) For me, the retinol treatment is feasible. I already use pro-retinol but I have purchased a CeraVe retinol cream online and can't wait til it comes!!!! :D I love your channel and you offer lovely guidance! PS I am 56 and everything is starting to sag lol

Thoughts on mewing as a solution to defining the neck and jaw?
What does that mean?
Meowing? Ha!
Mewing is scientifically proven and extremely effective. It's mainly effective before the age of 25, you can still see changes after 25 but they'll take longer.
finally what seems to be an honest video and person/DR
I have soooouch respect for Dr Youn and lucky enough to go to his office in Michigan. Only a TRUE doctor would give alternatives to plastic surgery. He really does care.
Why didn't he mention Ultherapy? Is that no longer a "thing"?
Angie had it done as did Kathie Lee. ❤
I’ve been using tretinoin on my neck for more than 3 months now… I’m 67 and it was a challenge because I had to stand the redness, the itching and peeling but definitely 💯 I went through it and it feels good! I even use it on my eyelids.
I actually thought he was going to go over different exercises for strengthening muscles in your neck/chin to get ride of double chin.
but, that would be free.so...🙃
do a search, there are several folks that have posted exercises, geez
Olivee Claxton It’s not like he’s incentivized to tell you to buy face creams. He probably just isn’t an expert in talking about those exercises, since he’s a plastic surgeon.
they can’t really do anything through
Li correct me if i’m wrong, but doing jaw exercises to “tone” that area of your face, is building muscle and when you build muscle that area gets bigger. so it would either make ur double chin area bigger or not do anything since it may not be enough to add muscle on?
The exercises are bogus bro
My aunt makes a free face lift daily, ever since I remember she wears a high ponytail that stretches all her face skin, my cousin (not her son but nephew as well) said he once saw her without the ponytail and didn't even recognize her because her skin sagged everywhere, LOL!
The only draw back with this is that it can mess with hair follicules but hey, wigs are cheaper than surgery😂
It is probably damaging her hair though!
@@Ariadne76-k3d Well lucky for her she's actually a hairdresser!
Whaaaaat??? I’m about to become Ariana grande !
Thank you for your information. Very good. How do we know Costs?
Doctor your skin looks amazing
How long does that radio frequency with microneedling last?
whats about mewing? does that actually work
Yes
from 10 months experience at least
from a more scientific standpoint, no.
@@chuuli oh i thought mewing or jaw exercises was to 'tone' (aka add muscle) to that area, and if that is the intent then no it wont do anything.
XXXMELISSATACION I mY be wrong but it’s supposed to change the bone structure as well idk tho never tryed it
Just a product recommendation..I love the Essential Firming Cream from Sulwhasoo, my favorite Korean skincare brand. It is a bit pricey, just a jar lasted me 5 to 6 months. And it definitely kept my face plump, tightened, dewy. It worked beautifully for me.. They also have a firming cream specifically for the neck, but not sure if that is an Asia exclusive product or not.
wait how old are you? Age is a big factor here..just asking to see if its good for middle age.
Facelifts don’t make you look better, just makes you look like you’ve had a facelift lol
Don't go to the same doctor!! See a new one and search for before after pics of his work
I feel bad for you! I'm sorry to hear that. But, here's some advice: Scupltra is a good treatment without major rebound effects on losing more fat, it just stimulates collagen, look for another doctor and see if your body accepts sculptra.
What is your opinion of taking collagen capsules? Is it effective?
Yes! Collagen only works when ingested
So you've been listening to my conversations? I was literally complaining about my extra neck day 2 days ago.
Girl you look beautiful! Your profile picture is stunning.
@@vibes6732 Thank you so much!
Can you have treatment #2 when you are hypothyroid?? I was told no laser or vibrations in neck area? I’m 38 and my neck looks loose!!
Yikes, I never thought of that . Thannk u.
That was very useful! I was already expecting tips like "loose weight" or "exercise more" but instead he gave concrete solutions 👍🏻
"Concrete solutions" - yeah right. What planet do you live on when concrete solutions are injections and creams that you have to buy . LOL!
the best tips are to lose weight and exercise. there is no better solution.
@@j0anee711 he's a plastic surgeon and you expect him to give you natural solutions? If you want low or no cost remedies don't go to a plastic surgeon! That's like going to a doctor for a headache and getting angry when he doesn't baptize you and pray to God to make it go away.
I absolutely love you!
You’re so trust worthy and up front!
I’m def going to look into some of your suggestions, thank you!
If I had money Dr.Youn, I would be on my way to your office right now..i luv your channel and you💖
Really valuable this post! Everybody has there is a lot to take
Enjoyed seeing your office and having a change of scenery in this video!
Thank you.
Thank you Dr Youn... I'm very interested in Kybella and fillers for my neck and jowl area.
Be careful with the kybella! I had a very small double chin and the kybella got rid of the fat but left me with saggy skin. I’m going to try microneedling to tighten the skin.
These are good tips. My neck does bother me, especially in the summer when I want to wear sleeveless and tank tops. I guess I will start with retinol although it may be too late for me LOL. I don't want to have any surgery.
WAAOOWWW DR. YOUN
THE 👏🏼 HERO 👏🏼 WE 👏🏼 NEED 👏🏼
Without even watching the whole I just liked it..
I bring .1 % tret down my neck and have never experienced sensitivity.
I've always had droopy neck. I hate the profile of my face.
Can you cover festoons both surgical and non -surgical solutions? As a long time viewer, I really value your professional option. And thank you for educating us with these topics that keep us all well informed.
You can ELIMINATE them! I used to have them BAD! Now they’re gone & I feel amazing. It was free too!
Dear doctor, what do I do for my elevens starting to show? Is face gym a good thing to do? I am looking for naturals tips. I don't believe in complex cosmetics, more like simple ingredients or home made because I don't have the budget/ the will to give my money to big companies. You are handsome and have a great energy in the way you communicate. Thanks for your cool videos!
The 11s are mostly targeted with Botox, but if you don't want Botox, a retinol cream can help
What is good for lifing skin nect with out under knife
Hi Dr Youn, I love your video and share them with all of my friends...They think im crazy. Can you recommend a good radio frequency skin tightening at home device that i can use at home.
Hello Dr. Youn!
Have you heard about "mewing"? Or do you even have an oppinion on it? I would LOVE to know what an actual doctor (espacily a plastic surgeon) thinks about it.
It is supposed to be a different way to use your tongue muscle to form your neckline, jaw and cheekbones.
Hello doctor. I have watched some youtubers using rice water for better hair growth. I want to know if this method is approved by you
Of course, he's asian. We asians love rice and everything related to it. :D
msa dent that’s a good question I have been wondering about that too after watching some RUclips videos
I use Onion Juice or Oil mixed Lemon. Works great. Then use 100% avocado oil 3x a week overnight.
@@nutech1810 how do you use it? How often?
@@msadent1825 I juiced an entire onion in the vitamix, and strained out the juice through a mesh strainer. I put it in an applicator bottle that I put all over my scalp and let it sit for 30 min to an hour with a cap on. It does stink, and your hair will not smell lovely when you are done.
Can you give advice on derma rollers/micro needling with SPECIFIC details on what types to purchase, how often to use, how often to change the roller, how to disinfect the roller itself etc etc
I'm not an expert on dermarollers, but I can tell you they don't do as much as an in-office treatment
I was worried that this was going to be about some scammy jaw exercises or something but these are all super legit! I guess when I make this sort of treatment a priority I'll come visit your team's office. Thanks!
Do you suggest any face excercises???
I use tretinoin on my neck, been doing it for over 2 years now. Yes it’s super aggressive and not every one can tolerate it… but if you start with retinol you can slowly work your way up, mix it in with a moisturizer first. I have zero wrinkles on my neck thanks to tretinoin. Go slow!! 😅
which brand tretinoin you use?
How old are you?
I think lipo is the better route to get rid of the excess under jaw fat, kybella is so limited to the submental area, whereas lipo can target the entire jawline.
Justin L exactly. I’ve seen hundreds of kybella tx done and minimal results for the $ spent. A much better investment for most people is surgical.
Dear, Doc🎩
Lot's of respect for you..
Take care
THANK YOU for keeping your videos short!!!!
When I see you inject that lady and she stays so calm~ How does she do it, I would freaking out hahaha > //
Misses Witch / Facial numbing
You are seriously the best Dr. Youn👍🏼
Here's some alternatives that I know:
1. Exercise (especially chin tucks, tongue, neck exercises)
2. Mewing
3. Proper breathing (to the nose, not mouth having hanging open and tongue laying low all the time)
4, Proper tongue swallowing
4. Proper neck, head, shoulder back posture. (which is really really important. Without proper posture, mewing and proper breathing is hard to achieve)
Mewing? How is meowing gonna help me stop being turkey.
I did Kybella. It helped a lot!
Thank you Dr. Youn very informative and interesting
TY Dr.😀👍how about buccal lipo is it safe & effective?😬
Is kybella available as a full body treatment? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I want to know what you do... your jawline looks amazing!
Dr. Youn,
I have a bit of a double chin- there’s just enough fat below my chin to be annoying and noticeable.
Holistic plastic surgeon. I love that! I’m down for the holistic 💕. Thank you.
I love this channel, it was one of my best. How is life treating you?
Thank you I really needed this😊😆
You are a lifesaver Dr. Youn!
A much needed video at much needed time. All that sitting on couch whole day is creating fat under my chin
It has to be rpresctiption strength.
Thank you. Mines age and weight loss. I’ll try retinol and vitamin
Would love to hear your options on improving saggy breasts without surgery. Thanks
Good video. What is the name of the neck cream? It was blurry and I couldn't read it. Thank you Dr Youn.....
I FREAKING LOVE THIS DUDE!!💖
Can you recommend the good retinol cream?
