They should add an incentive to using radios so people will bother having them on in the first place. Maybe something like helicopter crashes announcing their location or gas attacks coming with a warning over the radio.
Yes, my exact thought man! Something like "in bound to Vybor" Then 5-10 mins later something like "Mayday mayday! Losing control south west of vybor! " And bam, tons of incentive to keep a radio on. However, maybe something also needs to be done about battery life inside the radios.

Heard them talking about a heli (I picked the radio up at the heli) so I thought "let's pop off a few" and I heard them talking on the radio about my shots. I brought them back and knew exactly when they were coming out of the treeline because of their comms to each other. It was good :)
I would LOVE a way to prevent people using Discord or team speak while in DayZ, Forcing in game voip and radio use. Using outside voice is like telepathy in game.

That's what i hate. People speaking across a map and coordinating without radios is just like cheating. It would be great if it would be possible to prevent that. But i guess people would use their phones then to speak..
I agree. Even role playing servers that forbid the use of TS or discord have to rely on the honor system. There's no way to tell unless you massively invade their privacy.
Absolutely! I wish they had servers that deactivated that sorta stuff. I always get annoyed when meeting people that don’t want to stay in game chat because they are afraid of being heard. I want that disadvantage because it’s worth understanding when to STFU at times.

i love the cinematic shot at the end of pope popping out of nowhere with the sun behind him like he was reincarnated and everyone was surprised when he showed up as he continued to carry out the execution of the very man who separated him from his close comrade. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL SCENE!!!!
Survivors on the Radio was the first DayZ video I'd watched and it led to about 4k hours of gameplay of something I bought, tried once and thought I'd never play again.
Would be interesting if they added a feature to the big radio you wear on your back that nobody ever EVER wears that allows you to track heli crashes and other players with their radios on. Like if a player has their radio on or you're close to a heli crash it beeps the closer you get.
@@TheUltimateHacker007 Why would a heli crash not be worth checking out? Endgame loot is pretty desirable. Sure if you're playing on servers where loot is everywhere I could see not caring about a heli crash but in official and hard-core survival servers they're not something you just ignore even if you can't see it yet.
The last 3 times I have uninstalled DayZ, you have put out videos like this every time I did it. Just sad the U.S. servers are no more because the internet in rural U.S. is garbage like Pope crashing all the time😒. You and Tope keep my hunger for DayZ alive, even though all I run into in DayZ is hostility.
i love that one day, i was such a noob i feared never being able to learn the names of towns. im happy to say i can now easily recognize locations by the relation of sun to building and know exactly what town im in or what hill im on. i love this game

My mates and I started to use thè radios on xbox because one of my mate's xbox parties kept crashing, it created the most immersive experience I've ever experienced in a game, the tension of constant silence followed by a check in, the uncertainty of a random character noise like sneezing or coughing puttibg us all on edge. One time I was sneaking around a military base and my mate did a check in and every zombie started spribting towards me. I highly suggest every person tries the radios out at least once or twice
One day when I was play'n I decided to get a radio and just flip through the channels every so often and eventually I caught some chatter between a group couple players trying to meet up. I continued to listened to the details of where they were going and turns out they were headed to the NWAF and they gave little details here and there of where they were going to leave their car. I pieced together exactly where they were going and found them just as they were arriving. I waited for them to leave the car and venture into the airfield then hopped in their car that happened to have some decent weapons, food, and a ton of base building supplies and took off with no one the wiser. Was a tough lesson for them to be careful with the details they share over the radio and most importantly, you should always at least take the spark plug out of the car before you leave it somewhere unguarded.

As a solo survivalist player, Turn mine on scan the frequencies and broadcast looking to interact with people, offering food to anyone that may be in need. Sadly, being on Vanilla Chernarus(by choice), it usually only attracts ESP users/griefers. Last time he didn't even bother looting my unlocked base, just killed me, and went on to grief the next guy.
Imagine if it was possible to prevent people from using 3rd party voice apps.. and actually having to use the radio. It would be like back in the day, when your one phone line was already taken, and you actually had to communicate using in-game systems, One can dream, right?
I busted a gut laughing when some random guy on the radio was like "Can anyone hear me? Anyone out there?" Then he started making slurping & sucking sounds before changing to another frequency.
respect for trying to go for KoS less, i can never trust anyone in this game. got F'd too many times but maybe something in my voice makes people on the edge and that's why they betray me.
Don't know if it works well but I almost always try and get a radio and play music through it, run a small radio show type deal y'know, if anyone's got any tips on how to do that in an effective manner please tell me
No discord rule is practically impossible to enforce really, just creates a really uneven playing field on the server. Its a good concept though I agree
I want to see elk calls for baiting and hunting; tranquilizer darts; pack-mule for inventory movement; and zombie impersonating emotes.. and bagpipes or battlehorns

Radios add so much to the survivor feel of the game. Using vent and other group chat services take away authenticity of the game.

They need to make voice over the radio sound different. Like a real radio. Sometimes you can't tell if someone is speaking near you or on the radio.

What servers are you playing on? I just came to PC from Xbox. And I play on the KarmaKrew servers. And I've met some pretty cool people

Im one of those nerds who play on Xbox. I wish there was a feature that disables party chat to make you use VOIP and radios more.

Hi, I have a question. How do you stream with a camera and then have everything recorded without a camera?
Record using a separate software from streaming. One a 1-pc setup you can stream with OBS and record with shadowplay.
