At least he's spot on.Pentel Graphgear 500 0.5mm is indeed the best of the best for sketching! I've tried all the famous pencils out there and all the expensive ones like Rotring,Kaweco,Platinum 241 (this is like Graphgear 500 on stereoids!), however, I always come back to the Pentel! Pilot S10 is also a good one! For drawing, I also use Faber Castell TK 4600/9400 lead holders loaded with TK 9071 2mm leads, I use the Pentel for details or linework only and the TK's for shading. On the go, I usually sketch with Kohinoor 5340 5.6mm lead holder, loaded with either Red Chalk or Dark Sepia and for graphite sketches, I use either a Pentel Graphgear 500 or Rotring Rapid Pro 2mm.
