The worlds top-selling stage tuner, the BOSS TU-2, evolves and improves with the debut of the new TU-3. Housed in a tank-tough BOSS stompbox body, the TU-3 features a smooth 21-segment LED meter with a High-Brightness mode that cuts through the harshest outdoor glare. Choose between Chromatic or Guitar/Bass tuning modes, and enjoy visual pinpoint tuning verification with the Accu-Pitch Sign function. The TU-3 incorporates a convenient Note Name Indicator that can display notes of 7-string guitars and 6-string basses, while the Flat-Tuning mode can support up to six half-steps. Its the new-standard tuner that no guitarist or bass player should be without!
Who knew tuners could be so fucking xtreme!!
that song in the background though
as a bassplayer use the chromatic mode , you can tune your bass in any tune you want,
drop b, c ect.
Thanks looking for this
please turn up the background volume i cant hear you well, thanks.
Oh, come on. It takes me back to 90s-era music record commericals...
"THESE DREAMS...." (narrator: do you like classic rock?)
Oh man did ever make the deal of the day. Did a bid at auction barn got the TU3 and brand new Fender strap same color as my Stratocaster plus 2 brand new cable's all for 25 DOLLARS😳 One happy musician 👏
I use my TU-3 at every single show. I have it in line with my strobe tuner and the TU-3 is fast and effective. Keep making this tuner!
Well, it's 10 years after your comment was posted and I just got a brand new one today. Your wish has been granted.
I almost ordered this pedal, but I needed a buffer pedal as well as this.
So, instead, I got the TC Electronic Polytune 3 Tuner Pedal with Bonifide buffer built in. So I don't have to worry about getting both when I can have only 1 pedal doing all the work.
Great video, Boss, but TC Electronics is WAY ahead of you guys in terms of features as well as pricing.
Apparently the acc-tune stream center isn’t the default setting anymore.
Push and hold Stream/Cent, insert cable into input. (Pedal turns on) Push Stream/Cent. to toggle on/off.
Ends of display light up = Off
If they stream center = On
On order! Can’t wait.
I just got mine delivered today I’m still trying to learn how to use it.
This is satisfyingly-hypnotic to leave running and I was supposed to do my laundry over an hour ago...
Careful... it'll get ya!
this review really rocks!!
I like how I could barely hear you talking about it because the music is so loud that is brilliant next time just have a black screen too and round out the whole video…
Maybe your audio is fucked? I can hear fine
Man! a Metal Zone before a Blues Driver in a pedal chain...
probably shaping the tone of the Metalzone according to the rig doctor Mason Marangella
Jeezus, turn off the friggin' background noise and let your audience hear you. I want clear constructive instructions, not a battle ground backdrop.
Then your headphones/speakers are not working properly, i can hear everything loud and clear!
I've noticed that some people can 'tune out' background sounds, but some people get very distracted by it.
But how will they convey that they are metal?
Please make it stop, it's making my ears bleed.
@@dollcefina What background sound? 😂
I am out to buy one, I have the TU-2 and outdoors in the sunlight it is usless, I need this one.
I play in Standard D tuning but my pedal always detects it as Standard E is there a way to change that?
Great pedal!!
Will it chug
I just bought a TU3 yesterday... The function "Accu-Pitch" doesn't work... I've tried everything... also the factory restore ... Even that does not work... I think i've lost my money... I should have kept the Polytune
Luca Bob Gotti did you ever figure that out?? (A year later)
I know this is a 2 year old comment but if you bought a pedal just yesterday and you didn't like it you could just return it. No "lost money".
So as a bass player, the lowest I can go is C# if I'm not mistaken? I play a in Drop C and C Standard a lot, so how am I supposed to tune my bass during a live gig without doing it by ear?
+Thomas “BassMaster” Raes just stay in chromatic and tune as fit, the drop tune thing is pointless and if you press it and not realize it youll end up a step lower then you want to be. and this pedal mutes your signal so when playing live the audience wont hear you tune
Is it true you can use this as a power or sound cutoff to other pedals ?
It is muting your amp when you have the pedal activated.
There's a choice between outputs.
If you use the one labeled "output" then the sound is muted when you activate the pedal, but with "bypass" the sound is always on and everyone can hear you tune.
You can also use both "out" and "bypass" as a cheap way to split your signal to two amps!
@2:45 ...and THAT's the gain level of the BD-2 Blues Driver ! LOL
Blizzbee R.
Right after the tuner, MT-2 Metal Zone are installed in the pedalboard.
the only thing missing is tuning the floyd rose guitar for me :D
what if I tune my guitar half step down?
+IvanDrum then stay in chromatic and drop down to half step. the drop tune thing they were talking about is completely useless and if you accidentally get on it, and you tune standard youll end up a whole step down in reality.
does this also use 9v battery?
i wouldnt recommend using a battery. get a 9v adapter power supply instead
Just placed an order
my TU-3 does not do the fancy "in tune" LED effect... :/
You mean the side leds that should meet when the string is tuned? Mine too!
I bought it this morning and I noticed the same thing... What the fuck? :-(
is activated by pressing the pedal with the STREAM + MODE buttons
Can we also tune in Db, or D, C# etc?
It can tune 2-6 Semitones lower.
So yes, it can do Db, D, C#, & even lower than that.
When you tune to Eb, do you have to adjust strings on the guitar or Boss TU-3 does it automatically by changing the pitch. Like Digitech The Drop.
The TU-03 will not change the pitch of your guitar. You need to adjust strings to tune to your desired pitch - hope this helps!
@@BOSSinfoglobal Thank you for your clarification.
i just bought the tu3 and im trying to detune but i cannot manage it. what exactly should i do? please help
Its shows in the video. You go the numbers have money steps lower you want to go.
Set it to chromatic and it'll handle all the ranges of steps. I use drop b and it's completely accurate
Hi CAn I use it to tune in A = 430? Any tip?
Someone please help me. For some reason on either mode, when i tune it in key, theres supposed to be the 2 lights from the left and right "locking" the green light. Im not getting that effect...
is activated by pressing the pedal with the STREAM + MODE buttons
Soulhaven I tried this but it still doesn’t do it for me help?
Awesome
wow! I want that Pedal so bad! How much the pesos?
1,770.04 Pesos
@@p001ismLiveGamerGaming sheesh!! that's expensive, I would have save this up before multi effect pedal.
@@Rusli1659LPSoldier yep
@@p001ismLiveGamerGaming like dude, I've seen a lot of guitarists using tuner pedal at concerts. but while wearing ear monitors, you can't hear the guitar while it's tuning.
My tuner doesn’t do that light feature where it assures me my string is tuned. Help please?? Anyone??
The instructions are in the manual.
1. While holding down the STREAM/CENT button, turn on
the power (insert a plug into the INPUT jack).
2. Press the STREAM/CENT button again to toggle the
Accu-Pitch Sign function on/off.
On: The meter lights stream to the center from the left and right.
Off: The meter lights up at the left and right
@@agitatorjr I tried this method on a brand new pedal (in accordance with the manual, other video instructions and comments on here), it did not work. Many many failed attempts. Finally, out of curiosity, I decided to remove the output cable, then the procedure worked first time! The instructions maybe overlooked this issue; although other videos show the set up works with the output cable connected! Seems that Boss might have changed the set up over time (maybe because of mass confusion).
Can this tune D flat (c sharp) on bass?
Is it ok for the power output to run other brands of pedals as long as you don't exceed the power supply's mA rating? Or should I stick to boss pedals only for the daisy chain?
Yes. As long as the voltage required by the tuner is the same as the pedals you are wanting to daisy-chain. Typically 9 volt.
need some help guys.. does this tuner power only the boss pedals or any 9v pedals?
Any
Any 9V pedal that has centerpin negative inputs - like Boss pedals. Some brands don't, so be careful.
Does this pedal act as a buffer?
Yes, all Boss stompboxes act as a buffer.
It DOESN'T have a buffer built in, so you're going to have problems later on as you get more pedals and more guitar patch/instrument cables. I'd recommend looking at something else instead if you want that.
okay that was definitely blew a few differences but its there
What does clicking the pedal do?
Oops
Can it do drop a and drop b tuning
+XxTheFallenxX1 Not quite, it'll just go into A Standard or B Standard. Just stick with Chromatic mode for Drop A & Drop B.
+XxTheFallenxX1 For guitars? Yes.
I have this and i can't figure out how to use it at all
Lol what? It's a tuner dude
😂
The same thing happened to me thats why I'm here
New to guitar. Stupidly I bought one of these watched the video and still am none the wiser. Probs best I give up guitar if its this complicated to even tune my guitar? Seriously and helpful comments welcome.
Will this work for 8 strings
Uh, probably
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH
I like mine...
So... I so-happen to have my Boss "TU-3" app running on my secondary phone... and it just reads, "A." ...then... "NOPE".
Playing metal on a strat just looks so wrong
Cancer Horse haha that did look ridiculous.
Well playing metal looks always wrong 🤮
Iron Maiden Motörhead and Kirk Hammett would like a word with you
Mick Mars.
@@raspberryjuiceentertainmen719 Jon Levasseur from Cryptopsy too.
can this be used to control the volume on a guitar?
No. Tuners don't have a volume control.
I was moshin and trying to pay attention. Was mad hard to concentrate.
How do I use it for drop do is there a certain mode that's drop d?
The TU-03 will not change the pitch of your guitar. You need to adjust strings to tune to your desired pitch - hope this helps!
i work as e waste and i got this shit for free, i was so hype
What the hell with that song? It sounds like they needed the tuner
why roland videos just scream cheesy!!
Øx Manifræd what?
2010 my guy
@@rodrigoluunaa wow, I thought they just made this...
Holy fuck that intro music was loud.
All that screaming guitar in the background gives me a headache when TRYING to consentrate on what they are saying
432 should be available too
I have this tuner and it's complete garbage. It's just not accurate. Every time I use it I get more and more frustrated. Nothing worse than plucking each individual string, all perfectly in tune then you do a chord and it's not right. It's just not. Yes my intonation is correct, I set it with the Boss tuner... long story shot I just don't like it. It's bad and I just tried to do the intonation on a friend's Fender Start and increasing the string length by almost a centimetre yielded no difference on the tuner. Zero. I immediately unplugged it, switched to a crappy old needle based tuner fro the 80's and got much more accurate results. Maybe I got a bad unit, but I am deeply dis-satisfied with this tuner. Every time I use it I get pissed off.
+SuperCombine CP Are you sure you are set to the standard reference pitch?
I did a factory reset and it's totally fine now. I don't know what it was but the reset too care of it. Saved me getting a different tuner I was at my wits end
+SuperCombine CP It's good to hear that, cheers!
How did you do it?
Background music is way too loud and unnecessary plus using metal to illustrate a tuner is a real stupid idea...
me too !!!!! ==>Jeezus, turn off the friggin' background noise and let your audience hear you. I want clear constructive instructions, not a battle ground backdrop.
Disturbing background music
Too complicated
FIRST COMMENT YEEEAAH
lets post THIS again becaus it is SUPER impotant:
