I will say this, in the manga, Afro didn't kill Kotaro out of his own volition. He wanted to die and was gonna let Kotaro kill him but his body moved on its own. Also Kotaro was an adult

This is one of my favorite series of ALL TIME. Shame it only lasted 5 episodes and a second movie

To be honest....Afro Samurai does it better then most animes out there. Instead of dragging out a plot where it gets boring or you get lost...in 5 episodes we got back story...great characterization...a beginning middle and end. And the movie ends on a ambiguous note so you can create your on theories about how it ends. I never played the game or read the manga but i know the game has a better ending while the manga is more sad. There will be no anime like Afro and as a African American woman...I thank the manga artist...Samuel L. Jackson and everyone who had a hand in creating Afro Samurai. Its one of a kind.
The voice actor if the DJ in the movie is RZA, as a matter of fact he did the whole sound track for the show and movie.

Technically speaking Afro could match the archetype of the classical hero, such as the Greek heroes, who weren't necessarily heroes due to any sort of virtue, but due to their great feats, strengths, and abilities.

There was afro samurai 1 and afro samurai 2(which was short lived) I played them both. And still have them.
The game’s an alternate telling of the same story, same deal with the manga (though the manga’s apparently the closest to the original doujin).

As a former smoker I can say that no matter how awful the experience seems from the outside once started you literally no longer care, like how all the negatives of a hangover doesn't stop a drinker from drinking; however, as a former smoker I can say being able to breathe has outweighed all of that. I don't want to go back, but seeing someone light up in front of me, that old "I don't give a shit let me smoke that" still kicks in. Addiction's a hard thing to explain to someone who's never expiernced it and there's far worse than cigarettes out there, things that literally kill you if you try to stop without immediate medical care. Still this is a good thing since people really shouldn't expiernce it if at all possible regardless of understanding.

Afro Samurai and Huey from boondocks were the reason I wanted to grow a fro as a kid.
One of the reasons I loved the show was because Samuel l Jackson an the fact ninja ninja my favorite character was actually afros actual thoughts an feelings in all these scenes while being calm an composed on the outside.
The theme of his dad being Soul/R&B music while Number 2 was rock am afro is hip-hop was great
