The reason shorts work best when it comes to gen Z is because they have short attention span. That's why TikTok is more popular among that generation. I will continue to make content for both platforms but put my focus on short, more expressive videos (and then I boost them on one other platform to get that sweet kick start).

Wonderful tips. I noticed lots of RUclipsrs are claiming that starting a new channel will be saturated and super difficult for new creators. The reason they say that is because they do not want you to take a piece of the cake. It will never be saturated and there's always more room for new creators. However I did notice that all the influencers are just keeping the real methods to themselves. I understood that after reading an eBook. No one is talking about how to outrank competitor videos, how to bring additional traffic outside YT, how to do proper off page SEO etc etc..

I had a serious health issue last year and had to stay away from creating content and because of that my channel went down. I started creating again this month and the views are not going high. This is an encouragement to all the new youtubers. I know that it seems that RUclips is saturated and competitive but know that you are different and people can subscribe to hundreds of subscribers. It may be slow and time consuming but when it takes off you won't even notice the scars.

I used to be subscribed at one point to about 800 different people. Some of the people I subscribed to had millions of subscribers, but most ranged from below 1,000-50,000ish. You aren't wrong at all.

Just keep posting, I started posting on December 19 2022 and I already passed 600 followers. I started with zero, the more you upload per day the more chances you have to reach those 3 goals, followers, 10 reel views or 4,000 hours watched in a year…

I found when I schedule shorts they don't get picked up and don't get views but if I was to post the same short my self at the same time it dose get views. This was also tested on a friends channel as well

Thanks for the video. I've been testing shorts for about a month now. It's interesting how easy it is to get thousands of views. I've been telling my team about hashtags, but they're reluctant to use more than the range of 3-5. So, thanks for your testing and the limit you quoted, I shared it with them immediately. I've always felt that all social media platforms are OK with more than couple of hashtags, RUclips is obviously very gracious. Will start testing that ASAP.

Great video. I used the first tip by turning a long form video into a short and I went from 35 subs to 45 subs in an hour. All the best to everyone grinding on this youtube platform. May you realize your dreams sooner rather than later.
Ever experienced sudden drop in views or is it the algorithm is re-adjusting something?
@@motivationtube5399 I never really had a lot of views to begin with. Lol. I did experience when one of my long form videos had 162 views, then the very next one had 52. My most recent have 6 and 0. So the algorithm is finicky I guess.

The shorts algorithm is so broken. Sometimes my shorts will get no views and some will get a max of 1.4k and then stop getting viewed completely.... RUclips just stops showing them. I constantly try the post them and then delete and re post later. But if they don't get picked up in the first 10 minutes they don't get viewed at all. Getting content out as a small channel is absolutely exhausting and demoralizing

Thanks so much for these hacks. They are very useful to small channels like mine. I used to see the button to edit thumbnails for older shorts as well but now we can only edit thumbnails for new uploads and no longer edit the old videos 😢

I find my shorts do alright for a small channel one even has over 100 likes and 1.3k views. The hard part it I feel like nobody really hits the “sub” button like they use to.
It’s a struggle but I like to stay positive and support small content creators, because I know they get stoked over a sub like me
