Same thing happened to mine on my 6.2 fixed the lifter 3 times before doing the delete lifter swap. I recommend doing the lifter swap with a new cam and tuning the truck. I did that and it was so much better. Don't half to worry about the lifters collapsing.

My Tahoe did that and I’m pretty sure you have a 5.3 Ls motor in that truck, but my oil pick up o-ring was cracked which why I lost oil pressure. So I replaced it with new o-ring and oil sensor. Those trucks are made to shut down with loss of oil pressure so you won’t destroy it. I was out of a $100 bucks and a 12 pack to fix myself. Hope it’s just that simple as mine was !! Good luck
