2: color, try not to bleach ? or at least wait a few month in between
3: use voumizing texturizing spray- from brand xxx
    4: extensions, halo piece
5: more products, no alcohol, ...

I stopped washing my hair everyday/every other day since the pandemic. At first it would get so greasy, looks heavy and stays flat. Like CRAZY greasy af. Now I'm on my 2nd month of washing every 5-7 days, may hair looks healthier and not as flat as before. Less greasy too!! I think if you wash your hair too much, your hair kind of sends extra oil to cover the lost moisture.

I would love to see your hair naturally without the extensions. I’ve never seen anybody my age, healthy w/no underlying issues have hair as fine/thin as mine…plus I got the genetically receeding hairline too. Lucky me!
It drives me crazy when ppl with thick hair complain about it! At least they have options and cool hairstyles they can pull off. When you have thin hair, our options are definitely limited…

I switched to washing my hair with hair conditioner only, no shampoo, which strips out the natural pH and oils. Takes about 3 washings for your hair to “get used” to the conditioner routine. I wash about every week and a half to 2 weeks. Important to use natural conditioner without stearates. I use the very economical Sauve Naturals Rose Scented. Mix about 2tablespoons with 1 cup warm water and swish to mix, then apply to wet hair and massage in. Leave on about 5 minutes, rinse out till hair is ‘squeaky’. Works so amazing. I’ve been doing this for 10 years now, and my hair has never been healthier or shinier.
Another tip is to use root lift, and blow dry hair with a diffuser on low heat after towel drying. I like Paul Mitchell Root Lift. My one expensive hair product, haha!

I haven't dyed my hair since January. I quit using extensions. I quit washing my hair a lot. I wash it once a week. Sometimes I'll go 2 weeks. I use oils every other day. I wash my hair with conditioner and do hair treatments twice a week. Argon oil, keratin oil, pearl oil and leave in conditioner goes in my hair every other day. I don't blow dry my hair. I air dry. I don't go to bed with wet hair. Extensions will destroy your hair. Quit wearing them. It doesn't matter what type you wear or who you go to. TAKE THEM OUT. I trim my hair once every 4 months. I take hair skin and nails pills. I drink a lot of water. I exercise. Exercise helps with circulation to the scalp. So get up and lose some weight. Quit eating junk. Eat healthy. Don't consume too much protein or too little. Check your hormones. I use regular shampoo with sulfates because sulfate free dried my hair out to the point I had to chop off inches. I have 6 inches of outgrowth since January. My RUclips picture is old so it's not accurate what my hair looks like. Those are my tips and tricks. My hair is collar bone length a little longer. Also!!!! Switch up your hair style because wearing your hair too tight or the same style everyday, braids, up dos, what ever WILL MAKE YOUR HAIR FALL OUT. Get used to wearing it down. That's how you get your hair to grow thicker and healthier.

@@ilsevdb trust me she's right. My issue is probably a bit different than most people viewing this video but yeah so I have trichotillomania. I haven't had a bad episode with it in years but within the last year my teenage son committed suicide, my best friend passed away, my partner became increasingly more abusive and basically by the time I realized I was doing it again, it was pretty thin but oddly I wasn't pulling like I used to (spot/patch) but randomly all-over my head so it just looked really thin. I was talked into tape in extensions and paid.... Whoa did I pay. $800 for the hair and installation and half of the hair I had left when they were removed. I know women that swear they don't hurt and that's natural hair fall being caught in the tape. No. It is not. But if you have thick hair it isn't noticable. However if you are here bc you have fine hair... Why risk making it nonexistent hair? Either way good luck to all of you. You are beautiful human beings.

I agree about extensions. Don't do it!! Worst mistake I ever made. I had thought about getting them for 15 years. My hair was always fine and thin. Finally decided to go for it after I moved to a very hot climate and could not get my hair stop lying flat. The stylist convinced me they would not pull out my hair. After wearing them for 5 months I decided they were not helping to hide my most problem areas so I had them taken out. I was mortified to see that I had half my hair left. Not only had I made the problem worse, but I paid a lot for it. I wish I had looked into wigs before trying extensions. I had thought wigs would be way too hot for this climate. But luckily before I had the extensions removed, I bought a topper. It saved my life and my sanity. I am about to purchase my third hair piece, and this time it will be a full wig. The other 2 are toppers and I love them but I think the clips may be hard on my thin hair.

The reason I started to wash my hair every other day was because when i washed once a week, I was spending 6 days with a greasy mess. Now I alternate between ok hair and greasy mess so just slap it back on the second day. I think tying it up in a pony causes more damage where the hair band is too. Looks terrible if I leave it loose. Not sure my hair would train to be less greasy if i washed it less again. As I say, it was the very reason I started washing more frequently. My face is also really oily so it's not just my scalp...

It takes quite a few months unfortunately. Which is hard to deal with but it works! I finally made it to every 5 days and my hair is so healthy. I dye it every couple of months as well, and use a color shampoo and it’s still healthy. I just suggest lots of dry shampoo but find one that works for you. I’ve tried many but some don’t get the job done. Also lots of patience 😅. I kind of got forced into it because I’m a full time single mom so quick showers are my best friend and sometimes washing my hair isn’t an option because it takes too long. Also, for pony’s, I use scrunchies now. They don’t damage my hair like normal hair ties do. It will mold your hair a bit from the grease, but it’s super gentle to put in and take out! If you don’t want to put it up though, a good dry shampoo will keep up with the grease, and hats or bandanas will help hide it!

I feel you. Ever since I was a kid, I had to wash it daily because my face and scalp are sooo oily! What really helped me was a boar bristle brush and lots of time. When I was in uni, I managed to wash my hair with shampoo only once a week. The other days I simply brushed the oil out. If it felt like it was building up too much, I washed my hair with water only. You really need to massage your scalp with the water, maybe even get a second boar bristle brush and brush it in the shower while still wet.
worked wonders but the brush is where the magic happens. It must be 100% organic boar or else it won't work. Plastic won't transfer the oils quite as well.

@@TmHudsonArt I see, well I know everyone is different! And their hair is different so I was just giving my personal experience and what I’ve seen with a few others as well! It’s not fun to train your hair. I try to do it less only because my hair is so fine and the longer I go, the more volume it has. But it’s a pain and finding the right dry shampoo isn’t fun either. If I wash too much, the product weighs it down.

These tips are solid and also transferable for fine natural (curly/highly textured) hair. I also love wearing hair extensions to thicken up my looks so that I can also enjoy more thicker looks. From your video, I must say that my favourite tip is not washing the hair too often. Fine Natural hair tends to dry out too quickly anyways so washing my hair less often works really well for me. Great video btw!!

Hi Amy, I’m 48 like you and have super fine hair. If you haven’t already watched Angélique’s old video (the one she refers to in this video), you should find it, it’s really good advice! I sometimes use dry shampoo before bed instead of in the morning. I find it helps better to prevent the visible greasiness, when I wake up. Also it is important to take hair vitamins (if you don’t already), only brush your hair gently (preferably in the shower) and consider sleeping on a bamboo or silk pillow case instead of cotton. All of that helps to prevent hair loss/breakage. Oh, and tight/high ponytails can also cause stress/breakage to the hair, so maybe let it hang loose more often....or just when you are at home :-) Hope some of this is helpfull.

I only wash it every 4 days, no color, no heat, only a light spray of fine hairspray to keep the flyaways down.
I use quality shampoos like biolage matrix, living proof, pureology.
I take viviscal, collagen, vit c, biotin, multi vitamins. Nothing changes, nothing helps.

Back when I was a kid it was normal to only wash your hair once a week, then came this obsession with washing it everyday and it actually didn't do anyone or the environment any good, such a waste of water and hair products to put back what you had just washed out. My ideal has been about once every 5 days.
Really nice tips, loved the other video too! Just not so sure about the extensions. I had them once... for a week! And that's because my hairdresser couldn't get them out sooner. Really hated the feeling and it damaged too much hair too.
Just wondering why you want so much to be blond, especially when you know how much it damages your already thin hair...

These are also good for extending salon coloring appointments, as they cover your roots. The best plan is to get the topper, bring to your salon, and have it custom colored and cut for your hair. Game Changer!

If you're using dry shampoo, it should only be used for second day hair, third day hair, tops, then washed. Using dry shampoo daily will prevent sebum, which protects your hair and holds in moisture, from working its way down the hair shaft. Your mid to ends will become dry and brittle, and they will start breaking. Daily use will also build up on scalp and suffocate hair follicles. After a few months, your hair will start to fall out! The scalp needs to be able to breathe for it to be healthy. The scalp needs to be healthy if you want healthy hair!

The problem with washing your hair too much is the shampoo most people use. If you find a low ph shampoo you can wash it more because it doesn’t strip the hair completely. Low ph shampoo is best for color treated hair too! Also people with low porosity hair actually need to wash their hair more frequently. It’s good to find out your hair type and research about what shampoo and even hair products work best for you.

Take a little bacon soda and put it in your hair that will dry up the oil. And you can also put Epsom salts and a spray bottle and spray it in your hair. Make sure the water is hot so the Epsom salts will dissolve and spray it in your hair and scrunch it up that will help with fine thin hair. Matter of fact it will give you a wave a lot of people use it for beach waves. And for the bacon soda use one of your old makeup brushes. And just go there by layer for as much as you think you need. Be SUPER careful of these. I had tape ins for a little over a year and they destroyed my hair. They’re held in with actual tape and removed with an acetone/alcohol spray so it’s constantly pulling on the hair follicles when they’re in end then drying them out with harsh chemicals when they’re taken out. When I finally took them out and really inspected my hair after a year of wearing them I had bald spots all over my head where the tape-ins were and they caused a lot of thinning from where they would pull on my hair. I REALLY don’t recommend these.

Dry shampoo and build up don’t help and can clog hair follicles so it’s good to strip and clean scalp once a month or every other month.

Fine hair friend here! I have clip on extensions that I only use for performances and wore at my wedding to feel better about myself, i dreaded the photos and seeing such blah hair. I find the extensions I have really hard to blend as they are much bulkier than my natural hair. When I have a professional do it it’s fine but I would love something that I can easily do without a lot of fuss and obvious bumps and clips. How do people find working with halos? Do they show obviously through the back of your hair where it‘s a little darker? Also when the wind blows etc it’s just hard cause fine hair is already such a mess when outdoors, let alone trying to make the extensions work :( I still haven’t found a solution. Thanks for your video 🌸

There are vids on how to conceal them. I think they bsckcomb gently and comb over & spray. I've never worn one bc what do u do with the fishing line in the front?

Ellen, halos don't do a thing for thinning over the top or at the hairline. Toppers, on the other hand, are fantastic! Research them online.

I didn’t see any links for the hair extensions that you use, like which brand exactly, & which brand do you recommend for the halo piece?

My mum had beautiful thick hair and both my 2 older sisters also. But me... I wish. Wait 3 months to dye hair, don't know how with grey roots.

My hair is thin everywhere. My scalp shows through the crown. I’d love to try a halo, but it won’t help the crown of my head. Any suggestions?

    •  6 месяцев назад

so i would use a topper, there’s companies that have like extensions that you just clip in on your crown so it’s a little bit like a wig, but not quite as difficult pretty easy to use. That’s what I think I would do.
