VERY important tip!!!! @ 1:43 - (From 20 years in the restaurant biz) Always taste your jalapeno while cutting it. They vary greatly in heat but there is NO way to tell visually. We love spice dishes, but sometimes it requires 6 peppers and sometimes it only requires 2. You can control or ruin a dish if you do not taste test the peppers. Love the Video, carry on!
Oh and the way chorizo can season the onions and potatoes 👌🏼 v2.0 I think a 1/3 to 1/2 a tube of chorizo would add so much wonderful flavor. Such a good idea to try
Just made this. It is so good. I ended up getting low sodium chicken broth and low sodium taco seasoning. I was worried it would be too salty. I’m glad I did. I might substitute potatoes for broccoli or carrots next time. I also put cilantro on top. Excellent!
It's good to try new recipes and it makes you get to know more, I'm a good cook and I love to try new recipes, cooking is one of my hobbies. Do you love cooking?
Thank you so much for the recipe!! We have made it twice now with 🌽 from the farmer's market. Easy and crowd-pleasing. Reminds everyone of elote! Thank you!
It's more work I know but it really changed the taste and wife and kids love it.....I used fresh corn cobs and placed them under the broiler on high until I got a char on the corn then I shaved off the broiled kernels and added to pot.....I know stupid comment I was just sayin it made big difference in taste
I was surprised you didn’t roast the poblanos. Would they not hold up to the instant potting if you did? Down here in Tx we always add lime and a good Mexican hot sauce to elote.
I made this! It really came out delicious! I am gluten free so I was going to thicken with corn starch slurry but actually forgot. It was still great. More lightweight - like the Panera summer corn chowder. Recommend skipping thickening in hot weather season! :)
I made this recipe with a twist of my tastebuds tonight with my church family, and let me tell you everyone was asking me how I made this tonight, all I did extra was added 1 roasted Priscilla pepper, 1lb of 80/20 ground beef, 1 tblsp of fresh roasted garlic & 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella ….. thank you for your ideas…. ShaunMcCain
I am going to give this chowder a try. I used to go to Mexico a lot in the past and this soup was one of my favorite foods…..will let you know how I make out..
Thank you for this recipe! I only put half the corn in to pressure cook and steamed the other half in the microwave. When the pot was done pressure cooking I used the immersion blender in the pot, then added the other half of steamed corn. It was so very good! Can’t wait to make it again on cinco de mayo along with your chicken tortilla soup 👍🏼
@@kimberleebishop-vanheulen1640 so that when I used the immersion blender after pressure cooking only half of the corn would get blended with the rest of the pot, and the other half still full kernels
Please read a recipe for Elote street corn. There is a huge difference and I would not want you to think this is what a Mexican street corn taste like.
Great recipe. I love corn chowders and such. What would you recommend as a replacement for the cream? Since my cancer surgery, I can’t eat foods that are rich with cream and yogurt. I also avoid most milk products but use powder milk in bread making. Several store bought breads and buns also don’t play well.
looks pretty good, small tip, I would have lime slices to squeeze into each bowl to really kick it up to more of an elote flavor.
Just got back from the store shopping to make this recipe. Wish I had seen this comment
I agree totally...it will freshen up the dish and bring a nice balance ! Are you Gordon Ramsey trolling us? 😝
Looks like another winner. Would be great with tortilla chips/strips. Thanks Jeffery!

Jeff, I just made this one tonight after thinking about it all week! IT IS OVER-THE-TOP DELICIOUS!!!!!!
I should add that I have now made this four times in 4 weeks! It's just delicious!!!!
We just finished making and eating this recipe. Delicious. We haven’t found any of your recipes we didn’t like. Thank you for sharing.
I’m about to make this for the 2nd time……I do it exactly as is then add chicken from leftover roasted chicken. A complete and delicious meal!!!!!
Looks good. I think I might try it with some chorizo added. Probably will need to adjust the seasonings.
Chorizo?!?!?.... 🤯 Definitely!!

More poblano! More poblano! 👏👏👏👏 Thanks for the recipe.
Can’t wait to try this, we love mexican street corn.
Just got back yesterday from Gulf Shores, AL, one of our favorite beaches.

Made this today and WOW it is so easy, so quick and best of all so yummy. Thanks for your easy recipes.! Love your cookbooks.
This looks amazing! I am going to make this tonight but I'm going to use a tablespoon of taco seasoning and a tablespoon of tajin seasoning.
I totally made it! It's amazing. Only changed some of the taco seasoning out for Tajin and it's so good!
I was thinking the same thing!
I made this tonight, never had elote, omgosh it is absolutely AMAZING! thank you for your most delicious recipes and videos
Love this recipe! I can imagine adding chicken breast or shrimp to make it harder. Want some now!!
I made this! It really came out delicious! I am gluten free so I was going to thicken with corn starch slurry but actually forgot. It was still great. More lightweight - like the Panera summer corn chowder. Recommend skipping thickening in hot weather season! :)
Don’t know what I did wrong! Made for the second time tonight. Not as good 😢
I made this recipe with a twist of my tastebuds tonight with my church family, and let me tell you everyone was asking me how I made this tonight, all I did extra was added 1 roasted Priscilla pepper, 1lb of 80/20 ground beef, 1 tblsp of fresh roasted garlic & 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella ….. thank you for your ideas…. Do you still pressure cook it for the same amount of time?
Mmm looks really good. I think I would even try to add some sausage chunks or even shrimp
This is a great recipe. We added a few extra touches to it and it turned out fantastic!
Made this today and loved everyone loved it. Thank you.
New to instapot just got your new recipe book we love comfort food 🔥
And veggie too! Looks yummy. I'll try that!
I made this (double batch) and it was AWESOME!!!! So good!
So glad you enjoy!
Well it’s pretty darn good! I made it for lunch. Thanks for the share. Will be making again
I can't wait to make this! Trader Joe's carries a Elote corn dip and seasoning that is amazing.
I am going to give this chowder a try. I used to go to Mexico a lot in the past and this soup was one of my favorite foods…..will let you know how I make out..
Ah, Buc-ee's--if you know you know.
I'm going to try this, but I may replace the taco seasoning and/or chili powder with Tajin.
Love you Jeff!

Me gusta!
This looks freaking amazing! Thank you so much for the recipe. :)
I think I will try this with ground beef added.
Oh yum! Can’t wait to try!
I've never had Mexican street corn so I definitely want to try this 💕
Please read a recipe for Elote street corn. There is a huge difference and I would not want you to think this is what a Mexican street corn taste like.
Love buc ees
omg a bucc'ees hat - you are so amazing. I love bucc'ees too
This looks delicious! I’m going to try it tomorrow.
That looks delicious!
There are 2 in Georgia, Warner Robbins and Calhoun…I go to the one in Calhoun every so often…
LOL, I usually do french with a spanish accent :D. This looks really delicious. Saved this one! :P
Wow , I this looks so good!
Love this
This looks great! Definitely gonna make this. Did you use chicken broth or garlic broth when you made yours? 🤔
This screams for some crumbled bacon! I’m trying this tonight 😁
Dang I am starving
you gonna hafta up your game... I'm watching Sam the cooking guy.. you gotta gets real..
They are currently building two Buc ee's here in Tennessee, one in Crossville and Sevierville.
Trader Joe’s has roasted frozen corn and do you think roasting the peppers would be overkill ?
I don't think so. Roasting the pepper would bring out even more flavor and add a more complex depth to the soup
Looks delicious 😋
Jeff I’m gluten free, can I use cornstarch instead of flour?
You probably could. I would just do it at the end with a slurry.
That would work!
Try King Arthur Gluten free Measure for Measure flour. I use it every time flour is called for. It also works for baking
I would have had to add some smoked sausage or something like that.
My cousin works at Bucky's just off of I-20 here in Alabama. My husband bought gas there a couple of days ago.
There are 3 boc ees in Florida off 95.
We have 2 Buc ees in Florida. St Augustine and Daytona right off 95.
I was at the Daytona one last week! It’s amazing to see whats been built off i95 near Daytona Beach.
Looks good. I would add Tajin
Delicious 👍👍👏
Bro this is a soup I would kill. Love it. But bro have you actually eaten elote. Might be different here in az
does buccees sell your cook books?
Can you slow cook this as well? I have an instant pot but sometimes I like the slower cooks if I have the time.
Wondering if you could add a few tomatillo?
To make it a bit more filling for teen boys - how would shrimp pair with it?
I'd add more potatoes, and diced chicken
Looks amazing, but I would have added a squeeze of lime on top at the end.
When will your new book be available in spiral bound? Thanks
My youngest daughter is infatuated with buckees! That looks delicious!
Buc-ee’s
@@DietBajaBlast sorry
can you puree it all ?
My mom always added small shrimp to it. I guess she was loco.
Can someone answer this ASAP? Can you double the recipe? Is everything just doubled or does that change the amount of ingredients?
Looks good, however I would sub Tajin instead of Chili powder.
Well, I know what Im cooking tonight. Looks delish! I think I will add a ghost pepper. We will see what happens.
Looks good, but I'd use Tajin instead of taco seasoning.
Yum but for calories?
Add up the calories for each ingredient used, then divide by number of servings

Try an unsweetened nondairy milk such as almond, cashew, soy, or oat.
Where is the lime, and cilantro??
If no wine?
....then no wine. The amount used here is so small it doesn't seem like it would tip the scales much
You all add something crazy... I'm gonna make a channel for simple cooking..
Needs Tajin!
Where's the tajin or crushed flaming hot cheetos? lmao
Yea it’s just a corn and potato chowder, elote is a big stretch.
@@DietBajaBlast Seems like a great base though, could totally spruce it up to make it like an elote lmao
So good can not eat corn.
How about Alabama's latest laws against transgender people?
Love it Jeff!! Thank you for all the sexual recipes. As a single bachelor, Your cooking skills get me more action than a toilet seat. 🤤
