  • Oregon offers so many reasons to go on the road where the asphalt unwinds the state's scenic secrets. As the Memorial Day Holiday approaches, so does the time to travel into the Cascade Mountain foothills on a getaway that offers a camping, fishing and a backcountry byway at Green Peter Lake.

    I live 30 minutes from green Peter...it's amazing there. Tons of Crystal and quartz, also gold I hear. If you go over the Mt. Roads you end up in a town called Detroit lake. There is a hot springs called brighten bush. It's the best ever!!

      Detroit Lake also has a beautiful place called three pools.

    Biggest party I have ever been to was at the rocky top bridge memorial weekend 1995 must have been thousands of people.

    Want to be sad, go visit the lake now 😞
    Especially take note of how clear and beautiful the south fork is entering foster, and compare it to the middle fork entering foster 😞

      Yep they ruined a good Kokanee Fishery supposedly to save springers but there's so much silt out there I think there's more damage being done than help

    I thought fishing with corn was prohibited in Oregon
