I recommend painting the trim one coat before installing.. If staining you have to paint first. Might want to leave gap at bottom of jamb for floor covering.
Um. Wow. I do it so much differently. My mouth is hanging open. So if the floor isn't level, you don't care? People where I live notice when the door is tilting. Maybe this isn't really a real "how video". Maybe, you're just practicing video production with voice over and the subject matter is inconsequential. I just guessing...
Hey footecarpentry. I've been hanging doors my whole life and never once checked to see if the floor was level? I make sure the door opens and closes. This video is perfect for a newbee
Another option is to place masking tape on the back side of the trim prior to installation. Then whether you paint or stain, you have masked it without sticking it to the wall and risking tearing the paint!
I guess the old door was just wedged in place. Didn't even need to remove old nails!
