My point here is for high end gameplay, most people cannot play with low ms, as any mistakes is deadly. But for the optimal build, move speed is not it

This is exactly why move speed is so crucial on barbarian. The class is really only capable of capitalizing on mistakes, so minimizing the amount of time other classes have to avoid mistakes and maximizing the amount of time you have to capitalize them and be able to reposition if they dodge or space your attack (which good players can do easily) is the only thing worth building towards. Any non-ms build on barb and your only option is to beg them to smash their face into your weapon (or taunt them in VOIP).

Well said. I’ve been dropping flamewalker and phantomize on lock for a while and it’s made me realize how much I was using those to bail out bad positioning too. There are still times when you miss 2 spells and the barb gets on top of you but it feels so much better to not be running constantly
i made ur kit but only have 140hp, did u get max hp on rings and cloak? i got true and mag power on those pieces. just not sure where ur getting the hp from cuz i have same clothes as u. 6 pants 6 chest 4 choker and 2 on gloves i think or something
I'd say speed still makes you more consistent, specially if you're in the wrong place in the wrong time, but it's really refreshing seeing someone thriving outside the speed meta, keep it up!
Your first sentence says it all, "if you"re in the wrong place in the wrong time", it allows for more mistakes and still get out. But if you don't make mistakes you can just focus on raw stats

I have been on wizard for 3 weeks now... at first i thought move speed was the most important i didnt want to get hit, but i recently learned how to B-hop and im also using ice mastery!!! so 1 b-hop and my ice bolt is loaded and when i hit them i get so much space when they freeze..... now im rocking 295 ms 285 with book out and i rarely get touched!!!! b-hop ice mastery is INSANE!!!!!! Really good video your my fav wizard!!
100% agree with pre much everything youve said, as the wizard main whos consistently about 4 or 5 ranks below you on leaderboard i pre much do the same thing. My whole thinking behind it is youre never going to out run a class that stacks movespeed anyway, most classes have access to some form or range, weather its fran axes, throw knife, bow, xbow, drum etc you lose movespeed when youre hit, so running is the worst idea, i do what you do, stack damage and kite using it. Glad to see there is at least 1 wizard whos got a brain, cause all i usually see is wizards who only play trio talking about how to play and what to build, but honestly trios is for plebs who need an excuse for sucking
Trio is fun sometimes, but yeah a lot of trio wizard rely too much on pocket cleric and a team for survivability. And when they queue solo it's a different game and die instantly
Not many content creators have stated this idea about move speed. It's prolly cause of people like Dimo with his mvspd barb builds that has prices all crazy for double movespeed boots being all 10k+

I agree with your statements from an experienced player perspective. Timmys still need to have at least decent ms in order to compensate their spacing mistakes.
I always felt it was more of a matter of accuracy, since most of the "positioning" skills, in my opinion, come from either reading your opponent, or juggling with invis. You will always have a window to hit a spell, and you must hit it if you wanna win the fight, but if you have so many stats allocated for speed, you could be actually losing damage that could otherwise help to get that 2-fireball 1-zap kill. Hell, even arcane shield will buy you the time you need to hit that last spell. Even the instant cast skill (instense focus?) could be used for the same reason; it gives you a probably a secure hit too Tldr, im a +hp enjoyer, and ms hater too
I have started my Wiz alt to practice the class, I plan to main it next wipe. What would you consider are good duo setup's? I play mostly with a Warlock.
Great explanation, yesterday ive tried a full damage mage with like 299 ms in trios. With fire mastery i was 2 shotting people, i didnt even need to kite because i could output insane damage before they reach me and die with a magic missle like you said. Only thing that stopped me was a BIS 330 ms barbarian when my team died. So its an incredibly strong build if you just go for damage because if they eat 2 fireballs and 1 zap or missle its basically gg for them.
So this is definitely a bug and I submitted a ticket, but has anyone else noticed if you swap Quick Chant, and Sage: the buffs stack infinity? Not sure if this is just visual or not. Haven’t tried as I prefer not being banned for cheating lol
Alternatively, i jist build full adi magic dmg and agi at only 31 know and some mem cap. Amy class that has the range to kill me dies to 1 focus fireball and 1 zap so i can just nuke em. Any other class that doesnt have the range to kill me simply arent fast enough to chase a 310ms wiz with book out using focus ice mastery. So ur only problem is being landmined and barbs fully relying on achilles, which u can still dodge or save focus for icebolt when ur stuck in achilles.
@@ilovewizard im not saying addi magic is better, but if ur high movespeed it wont matter. addi magic is easily enough to nuke any light class, light classes are the only ones with good enough ranged dmg to be a threat to you. so u nuke em before they can kill u which focus allows. as for the slower heavy classes, they eat direct hits constantly, often have negative mdr on their gear anda re generally already an easy fight.
MS on wiz is silly, even when rogue was much stronger I opted for intense focus over ice armor or MS. Rather insta-cast fireball him point blank/Icebolt freeze for space instead of doing 0 damage and just running relying on having higher MS
Well yea if u cant outrun them then u need to kill them faster then they can get to u but if u run into somone with move speed that has high magic res ur just fucked u wont be able to dps them they will run u down they will dodge spells but mostly w key because u dont do dmg because of 75% magic reduction but that honestly cant be helped
@@cngblade i would also recommend building using occult boots with ms and then getting agi rings with true and then going for cloak of darkness and a will top with knowledge so u have that extra ms but u arnt sacrificing to much will or knowledge ngl to get the perfect rolls would be expensive but worth to have all the stats
Good gameplay, good advice, but only applies to wizard currently because of his buffs, also in both fights, one with plate and one with barb, you seemed faster than either of them, so I understand the point of not building move speed, but showing 2 fights with slower players than you isn't really a solid convincing point.
Thank you for the feedback, I have been building the same for multiple wipes already and it always worked for me. But I understand why some people need move speed due to the lack of spacing skill which makes them end up in bad situation. Also as soon as they use sprint or rage they are faster than me for 5-8 secs

In trio you don't need arcane shield because people will not go on you directly, usually it's a front to back fight. Prio more spell, more dmg and hp. 10 spells overload is the best but 5 spells medidate is fine
I agree and don't agree that movement speed sucks. I will talk for my play style. I only play solo normal >125 gear score, not bis kit (I run around 1k to 3k kit) and I play with meditation replace ignite for ice bolt. In normals you often fight people with 5k to 10k kit and you just get stats check like crazy if you don't play perfectly so you need to kite and having some move speed can change a lot. On top of that, speed barbarian in normals are everywhere and if you miss just 1 spell you die because they just hold W, so move speed can save you. At the end I think move speed is not a stat you should have with low gear and in most situation you should just dps and not run especially with arcane shield but some move speed can save you.
i agree for budget ice kits with meditate, it allows you to not have to run things like spell overload so you can prio magical damage stats and agi instead of knowledge and add mem. It's very cheap too, because no one really buys agi gear for wiz.
If movespeed isnt important how come you're using will armor over oracle for example? Oracle will help with cast speed, Just wondering I find myself finding oracle robes for much cheaper than any other armor so it's easy to get the stats I want on it
Because I get 3 move speed for FREE, I don't have to invest anything to get it. And I don't need more knowledge from robe because you get less return the more you stack it

Barbarian only kills wizard if they run away. If wizards turn and fight we just get killed in 2-3 shots even with 200hp. It's absolutely busted but good thing barb just got nerfed... IM are clowns

This is why dark and darker became a scam as soon as the playtests ended, and why people are making click bait nonsense titles just to get you click and type anything. They made an arcade game where you stack overwhelming advantages in favor of competitive integrity. Enjoy the pixels by all means but the truth is mine

Can you make a budget 225 high roller build? I’m new to the game and sometimes have a hard time figuring out what works best with what on wizard!

This is an excellent point and happened to me in the past. Mostly full move speed warlock is a tough one but manageable

What about duos and trios? Does move speed makes more sense there or still you aim for High DPS to shut down targets quickly and get the upper hand?
In trios, you move as a team move speed is even less important, build dmg and hp
