My man Brian. That's why I love this channel. I'm always learning something new. Well done brother. You're an asset to the Tesla Community. Great video. Keep it coming
These jack stands look great and I was about to buy two of them even though they are priced way too high. Then at the buy point, I saw the shipping cost. Ridiculous! I don't mind paying top dollar for a useful product but I won't be ripped off. I'll find another option. Thanks for a great video though!
Nov 2024 - I bought the RennStands to do tire rotations on my Model Y (LR Dual Motor). The first Jack I bought was the Harbor Freight Daytona 3 ton low profile. Do not buy the Daytona jack for use with your Rennstand! No issues with the performance or quality of the jack. Do not buy it because it does not fit between the legs of the RennStands! The flaring of the base at the lifting end is the issue. I returned it and brought my RennStand with me to the store. The Pittsburgh 3 ton low profile (SKU 70482) worked perfectly. It also has a perfect sized Jack Saddle for the lift point on the RennStand. I was able to source mine from ECS tuning, while the RennStand site and Teslarati were out of stock. Happy Hunting!
that jack stand is so cool, it'd work on my vw golf, too. So many of unibody (and pinch welded ones) also consumes the only jackup points and there are so many tricks to lift the whole car on jack stands.
So glad I invested in a 4 post lift years ago. Its already paid for itself working on other peoples cars and my own over the years. Now even more worth having for my model 3.
Nice solution stock heights. But as soon as you lower your car, be warned, you won’t be able to use those jack stands. There is very little clearance to get the harbor freight jack under my lowered car. I guess you could run the car up on 4x4s or something though..👍
If the car is lowered then you will have to drive it up on a 2x4. Stock ride height has about 1/2 inch clearance. Here is the jack I bought. www.harborfreight.com/3-ton-low-profile-steel-heavy-duty-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-64264.html

OMG. You are a freaking savior!!!! I paint correct/ceramic coat a couple model 3s I month. I've been debating buying Quickjacks for months now. You just saved me $1000!!!
Lick Mike Hunt I got my set with 20% off. So $400 vs $1000+ for quickjacks. I bet if you timed me, I could have a car up on these just as fast as it would take you to get the quickjacks out and setup. Price of crap? Umm you couldn’t be more wrong. The safejacks are very high quality. I
for the hassle, twice as long, and cost, just get a quickjack for the cost of a 5th jack and 1/2 the lift time. It does need more space and lifts much higher.
Brilliant! This solves a massive issue with working on any car. I've got pinch rails on my Golf and many people have caved in their floor trying to jack up and get jack stands in incorrectly.
Ordered my set of 4 today. Received a 20% discount after online chat with company rep 👍 (Most likely a limited time offer connected to Overland Expo happening soon)
I was wondering about the Jack also and thank you for detailed video. I just think it's way too expensive. $500+ for a set of 4. I can easily get four 3 ton bottle jack with built in stand for $140 on amazon.
@@i1Tesla Yes, but you already have a floor jack to raise a wheel, which in turn raise one other wheel since the body is so rigid. Then you can fit a bottle jack to raise it to where you want. Safe jack is great but it's just too expensive for me. And, you're right in that bottle jack stand won't fit by itself.
Any reason not to buy 1 Rennstand, and just use that and a jack on the other lift point to be 'safe enough' for tire changes and brake work? if the jack collapses, the single jack point (if high enough up) should prevent the car from crashing down?
Thank you so much . You get straight the point without the repatriation of other RUclips tutorials- your information has helped me - your explanation gives me no question of understood knowledgeable details that has helped me - thank you so much
I cheaped out and just went with Harbor Fright Jack stands, same exact Jack though! Worked fine to rotate my tires, but to do more extensive work, these would be really nice.
I love those jack stands, except one minor detail. That set-up won't fit under a P3D with a flat tire. Test it you'll see. Only like 3 1/2" of ground clearance when lifting with a flat tire. Might work with inflated tire...???!!!
You wont use this to fix a flat tire. You will just use the jack to remove the tire. Also remember the car is super rigid and you could put the jack on the back or front jack point and lift the whole side of the car. Then place the jack stand under and lower the car. That way you are taking the rim and tire to the shop to get fixed.
One of my reasons for buying my Model 3 was not having to jack it up as I would do for my previous cars to change the oil. A long time ago I would do my own brakes as well, and the Prius I had never needed them done, nor will the Tesla for the same reason, regenerative braking and and the fact that I no longer feel the need to ruin my tires with sports car driving like i used to do way back when. As clever as these jackstands are, I suspect a second set of Harbor Freight cheapies, used with a bar like the one they have with bolt through it and a piece of plywood under would do the same thing doubled up to either side of the jack I already have. The Tesla field service rep. who rotated my tires for me in my driveway showed that the car was so stiff he could do it on each side with just one lift at the back jack point, as your experience showed.
Cool, was wondering about those jack stands from your last video. Looks like great quality. Price is a bit high for me but I could see paying it if I was going to do any major work on the car. Definitely will be handy for that wrap. Thanks for the video.
Price up $100 since your video, whoah! Would you ever jack stand and jack the same side or would you go two stands for even height? I was hoping one with a stand and the jack would suffice to rotate tires on the same side front to back
Can't wait for the video of you wrapping the car! I plan to clear PPF wrap my Model 3 as well. The front looks a bit tricky so have yet to do it. Well, really haven't done it because it is 30 degrees out still. :-) As always take good footage.
Hi- What is the clearance you have between floor and jack point? The stand and adapter plate appear to take up quite a bit of the available clearance. The available clearance would be affected by the rim size and tire setup you have, right? What size rim and tire do you have? What is the width of your floor jack? Can you post a link the the floor jack you used in this video? Thanks!
Not everyone has the clearance around the car to use the jack at a 90-degree angle in their garage
Good jack stand for Tesla owners but little pricey because they are 179$ for the individual stand.
Thanks Brian for this video. I've been looking for a good solution so we can rotate our own tires. These will work great!
ruclips.net/video/xJ1N4j5sD8Y/видео.html You only need a jack to rotate.
You can't do that to cross rotate the tires

Good Job !
Everyone is so obsessed with the hole. Just use a block of wood and lift from the jack points like you did with every other car you’ve ever owned.
That is not safe at all.
Lifting a car is unsafe! I repeat, how’s this one any different from your ‘76 Chevy Vega (you know you had one!) ;)

I have a 100% safety record lifting on blocks of wood.
Tesla is unique in that the battery pack can be seriously damaged with standard jacking equipment and procedures.
So simple and brilliant... a small girl could change the tires on a 2 tonne Tesla ;)

Yes, nice arrangement but, you mention m3 too but in fact, the m3 does not have the clearance necessary to slide under with the low profile hyd jack.
