    So far, they're the only kpop group where I don't find their jpn versions of their title track awkward to hear. Like some kpop gropus (for me, my opinion) just merely translate their songs without maintaing the message of the song and some of them just translate the singing parts of the members not the whole song. Like they just attached the new recorded voice and voila the jpn version of the title track.

      The 3 Japanese members (Sakura, Nako and Hitomi) actually translated one KOR title track each for Twelve (Sakura did Fiesta, Nako did Violeta and Hitomi did LVER). Therefore unlike many other kpop artists (although certainly this doesn't apply to everyone) who release Japanese versions of their music, the Japanese lyrics have always been written by the members who are not only fluent in Japanese, but also understand the song's concept and its deeper meaning as well, rather than simply hiring a translator to write the lyrics. I think, in my opinion, that this is why IZ*ONE's Japanese versions are always equally good to listen to when compared with the original Korean version, and hence why they never feel awkward to listen to.

      Translating is not about how similar the translation to source language, but how can it interpret to targeted language according to its purpose. The purpose here to make a new lyric, so it shouldn't merely translated to another language. Sakura really doing good here as she's not just translate it to another language but she interpret it how it should sound in targeted language.❤

    • @fishcake__
      @fishcake__ 4 года назад +33

      @@ColorOfIZONE yes i do think so, some other group should not just hire a translator but someone who actually understand the "meaning" of the lyric. So that someone can convey the source lyric meaningfuly to targeted listener. The Jline here really are doing good for the translation lyric cause they're not just translate it to another language but they do understand the concept of the lyric so they can convey it to another language. 😊💕

    The thing I like about their Japanese version is the mixing is more raw(?) in which the vocals seem to have less mixing. 3:17 Yuri's voice vibrato at here though is so cool, I don't think she did that in the Korean version
