Thanks a lot for the comprehensive but nevertheless complete review. From a 20 day experience with the Ecovacs DEEBOT N8pro in my house (3 floors, each about 160 m2) I woud like to add feedback from the field.
The cleaning performance is 5 star alike.
Unfortunately the totally desolate software makes it almost unusable.
Once loosing the WLAN for whatever reason (I have 4 professional ARUBA Ap207 hotspots in my home) it lost everything the maps the WLAN pass.Btw it can only store 2 two levels.
It is almost inpossible to merge small areas or divide big areas.
Maybe you can focus a little on the SW or GUI of different models in your upcoming revies.
    Kind regard from Croatia
    Tom.P.

One thing you didn't mention was the fact the T9 cannot raise its mopping pad whereas the S7 can which means it can traverse carpet without getting the carpet damp from the wet mop

I think this was an ad for T9. I have been using S7 Roborock and it has been the smartest of all. The above video just says about some basic feature that most robo vaccum has.. Except 3D Object avoidence, many features S7 has. Auto lifting of moping on carpet has been the best. You need not worry about manualy take off the moping pad. S7 detects carpet automticLy and vaccum...
Washable moping cloth is another plus. Cleaning has been the excellent. 180 mins of running time on single charge...

I am Roborock user.Except for the 3D function of the Deebot, I am pretty sure other functions are not as low as u said. But surely T9 is more on hi spec which is like S7+ actually, but not selling in M'sia yet. If u guys wanna get higher range of Roborock then need to wait for S7+.
And I am not sure whether u got say about the main point or not, Because Roborock S7 the main advantage is its intelligent sweep+mop function. When u use on the carpet, ROBOROCK will automatically keeps its mopping function and same goes will use a higher mode to vacuum your carpet when it detected it. This is the main point of Roborock S7. I'm not sure Deebot has onot, coz I searched and can't see any function abt this on the carpet.Coz lots of vacuum machines do not have this function.
And washable mopping pad is more save cost compare with disposable. Alot of users regret after they know T9 just only can disposable currently but T8 can use both.

  • @perlcafe

Thanks for the video, just want to ask, this deebot t9 can vacuum and mop at the same time too right? But on carpets, it will not apply the mop function but the wet cloth will still be underneath the robot right? Like be in contact with the carpet. Is my understanding correct? You still can turn on both vacuum n mop function at the same time.
Only that the lift and rise function of the s7 only will work on low rise carpet..

Got the T9 plus. First run mapping is inefficient, completed run without mapping the full house. Had to try 3 times before getting it right. Even then, it did not map the kitchen area. The second issue is mopping. I have a tiled kitchen island and wtiled winter balcony, these are the only places that need mopping, rest is carpeted. I can't place the dock in these areas, so I had to literally lift the vacuum and place it in those areas ( all manual) and it did not map for mapping the whole kitchen island, did not know when to finish and finally could not return to base. So mopping is completely manual and most likely I wont be using it given the effort. Suction on automempty bin is good but does not remove all dirt, like carpet lint.Lastly, the map generated doesnot clearly differentiate the rooms, I am unable to create no go zone for say under bed area as I can't recognize my bedroom section on the generated map. So overall, suction is good for vaccuming but did not expect these many flaws from their top end model!!!

I would say there is another massive difference between the two, after using both heavily. The Roborock mapping software is miles better. Ecovac T9 often gets lost, drops the map (it can only save one backup), and positions itself on the map. This happens when there are minor changes to the room.

Generally ok with it, some hair stuck in rollers but i think that’s normal. you forgot the S7 even at 2500 suction, it's still better that 3000. here is why, the S7 redesign their brush, creating a spinning base that springs down to the surface outperforming any 3000 suction model just with the brush design.
it's actually quite genius, instead of focusing on increasing the power the increased the overall suction of the brush based off of how it springs down and hugs the cleaning area making it far more powerful meanwhile they're able to use that additional suction they're not using and put the battery power to use somewhere else instead of blowing the PA (or sucking the PA rather) at a higher pull which would drain the battery quicker. robo Rock has perfected that technology when it comes to their brushes. I'm pretty sure it was them that came up with that spiral tangle free brush design and now it's even better requiring less PA to do the job of even a 3500 PA vacuum. Work smarter not hard!

    • @reneenergy

    • @Trikkie87

It is the nature of wet equipment to sometimes leak some form of water. The t9 not wanting to charge is a safety feature to prevent dumb mistakes. I doubt the roborock is able to charge with a wet cloth aswell, but if it can this would not be a good thing. Water hazards are very dangerous.
